    Getting a problem whetever I create a world on a server. Have to test it with client, however.

    Everything was fine in my private modpack. Then I wnt on the ArsMagica's configs and changed "Random Spells Recipes" to false.
    Now everytime I log my world, I can't open any GUI on it and only the chunk I'm on loads. The rest of the world never appears and I can't die or use any item. Then I try to save and quit of my world and it stucks on "Shutting down internal server".

And then I remembered all those crashes with an NPE for FML's item name registry. And then I got that exception. And then I noticed that the problem was that FML was adding some instructions to the end of the item constructor which the patcher was wiping out.

    So long story short I need to mess around with the bytecode patcher again. Hopefully I'll get it out today though.

    If you have server ID issues, you'd basically have to change the ID configuration for each mod and set up the same changes for each client. I could probably set up something like what OreObfuscator does, but there are other technical issues for it. Since editing block IDs on the client is something I'd like to avoid, I'd edit them on the server and have to get the client to send a map, and somehow I'd have to make a map format that would work for both the client and server. And I wouldn't be able to use class names as an extra verification like I do in ID resolver since they are different for the client and server.

    Basically it's a complex issue to get it working, and it's not one I want to work on at the moment.


    Well, I'm not a modder but I think I know a workaround for this.
    All you have to do is create a serverside mod that only reads the IDResolverknowIDs.proprieties and apply the ID changes. While the client version must have all that GUI stuff to change the Id's before FML loads the mods, the server will only apply the Id changes already made (in client) before FML does its thing. I guess it's much easier to code :/

    Also, you could select the "modpackers" who would be allowed to use it, not allow any lazy mod pack compiler. But saying "NO MOD PACKS, F*CKERS! I WANT MY ADF.LY MONEY, B*TCHES!" is *kinda* rude.
