This mod is a very nice mod, will never play without it now, lol.
Anyways, it would be nice to have a loading bar on world joining, and server joining. Sometimes it takes a long time, and then crashes because of some mod conflicts, so it would be cool to know what is going on/how far along it is. (Also dimension entering?)
Also resourcepacks would be nice, because sometimes I have the same issue as I described above, and want to know what is happening, or if minecraft said "NOPE".
Nice mod, I hope you take these into consideration, all of there in favor of improvement! Also, love the use of the XP bar, keeping it vanilla! If I change the XP bar texture in a resource pack, is the bar changed as well?

The tooltips do NOT explain HOW to put armor plates on jetpacks, and there are NO recipies showing up when looking at the armored jetpack in the item browsers. I have 2 resonant armor plates and 1 resonant jetpack...............I feel like a little child trying to put a square peg in a round hole. How do I put them together?
Alright, hold jetpack in hand, have armor plating in inventory, shift-sneak with jetpack in hand, will install the armor.
The tooltip does say how to, I can't open up my minecraft now, but I believe it's like line number 5 or 6?
May 26, 2014Posted in: Minecraft ModsSounds complicated to me, for no real gain considering that we can already config any jetpack to any power level that we desire.
Furthermore, taking your fanbase into consideration, it's mostly people who are running from the new ways of IC2, me included. If you want tp provide them a safe haven, focus on jetpack usage, rather than on complex ways to craft those jetpacks.
And furthermore, it is in my interest to say =P that the programming time could instead be used to fix and polish the stuff that affects the ease and the usability of the jetpacks once they are already crafted and ready to use.
How I agree with you completely, I feel that at least the redstone jetpack should require an "empty jetpack" of sorts first, and fill it with destabilized redstone first, like the energy cell and conduit. However a fair point to bring up would be that the capacitor does not require to be filled.

Oh my god people. It's called a suggestion. It's what you do when you have an idea on how to possibly improve a mod without having the capability to do it yourself. Of course I can add the recipes myself. I'm FTB's minetweakerer. I know almost too well how to add custom recipes myself. I've been using custom recipe mods since beta 1.7.
Also notice that I never told the author to do anything. I didn't threaten anything or give any disrespect. You're making it sound like I was saying "Add this to your mod or ur gay." If you looked at my original post, it was most obviously a suggestion meant to help improve the mod. My second post was to defend my statement. Of course it's not my mod and never will be. I never claimed such. The mod author has every right to do to the mod as he pleases because it's his mod. Nobody has any right to tell him what to or not to put in it, but how will the mod ever improve without suggestions? My opinions? If the author said no that's not happening, then I'd back off or give one final argument, but in any case I would respect their wishes.
And your logic seems a bit flawed. The recipes I was suggesting would be rather simple to add. 5 minutes. 3 recipes. You could put in an if statement and copy-paste the other upgrade recipes but replace them with the other packs. And oh my god the load time increased by 50ms. Oh the humanity.
Sorry if I'm being abrasive, but I've had people just sweep away mu suggestion twice with lazy excuses like "just make the top tier and toss the old in lava" or "add it yourself". That's not the point of a suggestion. If people respond to suggestions like that, then mods are never going to improve much because there's only so much the author can do by himself. The community needs to help with suggestions and feedback. That's how mods grow.
To add on to what you said, in the FAQs it says that he welcomes suggestions, and he WANTS them.

I will try to be unique as much as possible; I don't feel ok with just blatantly copying ideas. It's difficult though.
As for armor protection, once I figure out how to give the jetpacks custom armor values based on stored energy, I will do it.
I love that idea! It's just like the TE machines, the more energy it has the faster it operates. The more energy in the jetpack, the more armor it provides. (It would also use more energy for higher armor levels). This is brilliant.
It would be nice if you could add a mining laser like the one from IC2. That is really the only thing I miss from IC2 now.

- Jetpack tuning is now fully customizable
This means jetpack speeds, power usage and power storage. Be careful with these values, it gets unbalanced really quickly
I'm going to set the speed to OVER 9000!!!!

Apr 13, 2014Epiksoda11 posted a message on [1.6.4][Thermal Expansion 3 Addon] Advanced Flux ToolsI really love the concept, but I don't like the complexity in the components. It doesn't quite fit the theme of Thermal Expansion. Everything in TE is fairly simple, even the power system. I just wish that it didn't require so many components. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm trying to make this mod better with criticizm. (I do use this mod and love it btw)Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also, I would be happy to do some 16x16 2D textures if you ever need them.

Glad you found it!
Could you add a saving stone that has, say 5 uses, maybe costs 4 stone and a diamond? With this upgraded one it would spawn a double chest so everything+armor fits.

Hmm, I didn't think of that yet. I'll put it on the to do list, but no promises for anything soon...
I removed the 'why not use ic2' part from the main post, since that apparently rustled certain people's jimmies..
Also, please add a tooltip to the Potato Jetpack that says "100% of customers agree it's legit!"

That's a good point. That was my concern too, since one of my main goals in creating this mod was to keep it as simple and compatible as possible. Ore generation would complicate things...
Interesting idea; I hadn't considered using dyes while creating the bucket. Hmm. Maybe instead of a "stain proof bucket" it could be a bucket that's already so stained and supersaturated with dye that it couldn't affect the dye in the water.
The problem with using a vanilla bucket of water or lava in the recipe is that you will always get the regular bucket back in your inventory after crafting, regardless of the recipe output. I couldn't find a way to disable that, so I had to just work around it.
Thanks for your input! It's appreciated. =)
Yeah, but what to use... Hmm, I'm not sure about diamond or emerald (since they can be so obnoxious to find unless you're lucky, and they aren't really stain proof). I wouldn't be against adding a bit of challenge to make the buckets, however. They are a bit easy to make...
Oh, Oh! Idea flash! What if you have to make some kind of a paste that you could use instead of the glass panes, maybe made with materials that are a bit harder to come by (including ender pearls and slime, maybe)? What do you guys think?
What about smelting the bucket to get a Hardened Iron Bucket, or just make Hardened Iron by smelting iron ingots, and craft a bucket with that. That way we don't have to touch ore generation, and it is still really simple.

hi, i found a minor bug, when using colored portal from nether to overworld somethimes my xp bar gets glitchy and doesnt show my curent xp and level, but they are actually there, when i receive or lose some xp it gets fixed again.
That is a vanilla bug I believe. I've seen it happen with many other mods.

Why are you commenting here? It doesn't help improve the mod, or fix any bugs, or give a suggestion to make it better. Plus the whole reason this mod was made was because the creator of the mod felt that IC2 was eternally unstable and in development. If you do not respect what he says, or disagree, you could either give a suggestion or not post at all. If you think it is not complex enough, did you ever take the name of the mod into consideration? Simply Jetpacks. Thermal Expansion is for the people that want to have fun without everything being so expensive, grindy, or near impossible. From now on, don't even respond with an argument, unless your statement will help the mod.Quote from gollark9IC2 is labeled 'experimental' for a reason. The recipes and features are being tweaked a lot.I've never liked thermal expansion very much myself, too cheap and the RF system is too simple.
Could you possibly add a new "advanced" flux capacitor, maybe a combination of all current capacitors, and it would charge jetpacks? (I have no modding experience, I don't know how difficult it would be.
