The only experience I have with your Constitution was a bunch of Tea Partiers pitifully attempting to make me like the USA more than the UK by rubbing something called "Hurr Curnsturturshurn, und Hurr Rurghts" in my face until I politely-but-firmly told them to sod off (this happened last summer when I went to the US for a few days) (Also, I'm not making fun of Americans in general with the "Hurr Curnsturturshurn..." bit, that's honestly what they sounded like to me. Maybe it was because I was unlucky enough to have to stay a night in *le gulp* rural Texas).

Texas is truly awful. Next time come to Philly and have a civilized conversation with me over some good food xD

More to the point, I do believe this is the end of the line, as Avalenchetter seems to have given up hope. But at least show him respect, and don't boast openly about how your going to steal his idea right from under him on his own topic. Have some decency.

I'm failing to see how I'm a jerk. I never disrespected either you or Avalanchetter. In fact, I complimented the idea! It's just the attitude that needs work.

Alright, fine. I just read my last post again, and I realise that (hopefully because I was really tired) it made me look like a total ****. So, this is what I was trying to say (I think. Last night is a bit blurry to me):

This is a phenomenal idea, and I'm glad Avalanchetter thought of it. I sincerely hope he can see the project through, and in no way am I hoping that he fails. What I meant is that if, and ONLY if, for some reason, something happens and Avalanchetter expressly states that he has given up; after I finish building the thing I'm working on in Minecraft right now, I might do something similar (the only similarities would be the general idea of a steampunk world, and a few more typical city names ('New Babbage,' and things like that)). If I actually managed to pull it off, I would of course ask Avalanchetter if he (or she, but I'm pretty sure Avalanchetter is a guy) for permission before putting it up for download ANYWHERE on the internet, and certainly not on this thread. If, in the minuscule chance that all of those things actually happened, I would still give Avalanchetter a decent amount of credit for the idea.

Anyways, sorry about being an ****, I'm going to start posting less and lurking more on this thread.

After having read this thread, I feel like you shouldn't feel like you have to apologize for being an ****. I know I'm going to get flamed for this

This is a great idea, a very, very great idea, but really? Do you guys have to be so bossy and overconfident in your abilities? You pretty much flamed anyone who even remotely mentioned the idea of this being impossible. Sure Avalanchetter came up with the idea, sure he's confident, but you can't just prance around denying everyone and extending your form of "copyright" over it. Hell, I could go off and do this, and no one could stop me. Once something is on the internet, unless you have a legal copyright you've basically forfeited ownership of that idea.

Once again, this is an epic idea. Steampunk is an awesome style of building and art and what you are doing is fantastic. But his attitude, not so much.

Hey guys, you may notice I don't post much over the weekends. So sometimes there can be 3 pages of new posts when I first get back on so forgive me if you asked something directly and I missed it.

So some of you guys want to draw the gods, which is cool :smile.gif:, but to be clear they have no true physical form. When I say net rips out his heart to create something, it's a metaphor for a sacrifice so extreme that putting it in those terms is the only way we (people with hearts) can understand it. The god's are just energies -> that have a will, and emotions. This doesn't mean of course they can convert some of their energies into mass and appear as a physical being, and then animate this puppet with more energy. But this would not be a true representation, and should bring rise to the understanding that the gods can appear as WHATEVER THEY WANT.

So as not to stifle creativity, if the Gods did CHOOSE to appear in physical form for whatever reason. They would look very closely to their related sphere of energy or idea. Hence:

Terrae = Could appear as a fairy, an animated tree, as a voice on the breeze, a flower ... etc ...
Roki = Could appear as an entire mountain, or a grain of sand, as a a contruct of lava, or a walking iron automaton ...
Net = Could appear as a pig, creeper, or a giant flaming behemoth, or (and this one could tweak some nerves), as a regular steve with hollow white eyes .... since that is in his sphere.

Also most gods are stated as being "All-Knowing" ... but if the primes were all knowing, they wouldn't need to create anything as there would be no point? They would just exist in perfection forever. The three primes are not all-knowing but are still very very powerful. They created the world out of boredom and experimentation. They wanted to see what would happen, and because they sacrificed so much -> they love the entire thing dearly, even net. His rage and hate being because he was taken away from something he sacrificed so much to create.

Lastly, the gods don't hate each other. Priests may, as their understanding of the gods changes over time and they are a slave to their own mortal emotions and drives. But in the higher sense, the gods know that each of them creates a whole, and that each of them are necessary.

Lastly lastly -> I created the actual paths first, and then wrote the lore because I enjoy writing and thinking about this stuff. Hence there may be some inconsistencies or balance issues. Lets just say if there is something that contradicts something else that; "The gods ways cannot be understood by us". And therefore it was just a misinterpretation. Easy.

Stated quite well; a gods image is based only on the mortal who creates it. I think you guys will like my Net concept sketch :biggrin.gif:

Should there be a category for the artists of the gods? Or would that already be under scribe?

Okay then. I still kind of like the idea of Roki appearing as an automation, though.

I suppose this means that we have to make some revision to the server setup ideas, though. Instead of total war, possibly nation-states what can form alliances, crush (and assimilate) those weaker than them, or for the extremely wealthy (in minerals, I suppose), they could simply buy out other nations? Hmm...

You'll like my Roki concept, then, when I do finish it.

There is no Dark Soul option. Therefore, I refuse to vote.

We all know that Skyrim is going to win anyway, despite being a buggy, painfully easy and boring piece of crap.

You could create a God of Sin? You know, the Seven Cardinal Sins? Minus Lust... what would you lust over in Minecraft? that pig you didn't catch? Just use Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Vainglory, and Pride with creating the Tower of Babel as the final challenge.

    That sounds amazing.

Maybe 7 different paths for each sin?

About the minor gods on the server:

I'd like to see some more gods than just the main three and Nixos on the playing field, but there are a LOT of minor gods, and if all of them are valid, the cosmology of the world is really, really messed up. We need more than just a few minor gods, but not all of them fit with all of the others. I propose a run-through of the wiki, cherry-picking the ones that fist most keenly, and perhaps a voting to winnow them down to the five best minor dieties. Plus, if the server does restart on occasion to stop the play field from getting too uneven, then the minor dieties can cycle, and that'll even give people wanting theirs on the field to refine the path or the lore so it all comes out shining.

    Personal note to EpicTurtles:
    Of these:
A perfectly ordinary child in appearance, warped by boredom, anger, and the nether, with the fires of creation in his eyes.
A twisted, writing monstrosity, mutated past human appearance, with the fires of creation in his eyes.

    Which is creepier?

Although, I know that Net did rip his own heart out, tear his ear off, and yank a bone from his arm, so he wouldn't appear completely ordinary.

I feel like the "innocent child is actually the root of evil" is a lil cliched by now...and it's boring to draw. I'll have the three major gods done at some point soon.

    Again, my idea:

"I just had an idea as to how the server could be set up:
Instead of each of the major three gods having a territory, and then a neutral space in the middle; I believe that there should be no designated territories, or at least in the beginning.

People would choose a god, and obviously followers of Nixos would have more freedom than others. Followers of the same god would be put into the same group, creating porto-factions. They would somehow get a chain of command going, and once every porto-faction had settled any and all pressing matters, every group, with no materials whatsoever, would be simultaneously released from the spawn temple.

In order to not be wiped out, they would have to travel far, far away from spawn (there would be a neutral zone extending 500 blocks from the spawn temple, to discourage ganking) and claim territory for their own. To not be wiped out by marauding or raiding bands of followers of other gods, they would have to fortify the boundaries, build cities, fortresses, skyholds, mines, etc.

Once a time limit had passed (say, a week after initial startup), PVP, monsters and a whitelist would be enabled, locking in the factions and plunging the world into war (if the followers of a god decided they wanted to be neutral, they would be removed from the running, and have the same rights/privileges as followers of Nixos). Last god standing (that isn't Nixos, because his followers are strictly neutral. A harsh penalty would be enacted on anyone who kills, griefs or purposefully harms a follower of Nixos) is declared the victor. At that point, there would be a two/three day period for the winners to celebrate, build monuments/memorials, etc. After that period, the server would be restarted, the whitelist, PVP and monsters disabled, and the process would begin again.

The point is to promote faction-based warfare, organised conflict and strategy; instead of constant madness."

Wendigo needs no fortress or defenses, we are madness. Not trying to protect my creation (I would love to lead a force of cannibals in raids on human settlements), but a bunch of insane dudes munching on zombies isn't exactly an organized force. Don't attack them unless they attack you? I dunno. My path is very different from most of the other paths, in being much more detached from being part of an active community. We're also at a disadvantage cause of the food restriction...eh.

But ANYWAY, I was wondering about Net; he's a child, banished to the Nether...do you think he might have become twisted and warped physically? I don't want to draw something no one will recognize as Net, and I had just started a rather disturbing-looking concept sketch.

Can anyone draw the deities? This may seem like a completely random question but think about... most of the Ancient Pagan-ish religions (like Ancient Greeks and Romans) have at least a drawing interpretation of their deities. If not, I'll bug my friend until he caves and draws some of them.

EDIT: The reason i'm asking and not doing it myself is... I can only draw stick figures and not even good stick figures at that... * storm-cloud hanging overhead, lightning strikes and all*

Haven't been around in a while, this has grown quite a bit. I also have to get around to not being lazy and doing lore for people if they'd like on the Wiki.

But anyway, I could definitely do a few drawings for the deites. I'm a good sketcher if I do say so myself...

toxc, I believe that ArchebuS has to edit his post on the first page with your name to be considered an acloyte. I could be wrong and misspeaking here though. EpicTurtles, thank you for allowing Wendigo to be on the wiki, if you want to edit the page and add Wendigo lore / mythology to the wiki, let me know so that I lower the protection for Wendigo's page.

Oi, no problemo. Nice to see all the fan-made gods somewhere prominent. And what's the protection level at? I've already got an account on wiki, so if it's set to just block new/unregistered users I'll be good.

Okay, the wiki page is mostly up-to-date with the forum. I have MOST of the Gods on the wiki however, if you feel like your deity deserves to be on it, let me know. Also, if you don't want your deity on the wiki, let me know and I apologize for adding it to the wiki if this is the case.

I would like it if some of the people who have posted images can help the wiki out by posting some to the wiki site as it only has 7 images at the moment. The link is here, http://cubeiasm.wikia.com/wiki/Cubeiasm_Wiki.

    Yay, Wendigo has presence now!

I'm quite attached to my deranged creation >.>
