Dec 16, 2013Enderman967392 posted a message on Saturday with Sach: Whats In a NameMy IGN is TheIronLombax, because of my favourite gaming series: Ratchet and Clank. Ratchet is a Lombax, and in one of the games, Size Matters, there's a multiplayer game mode called "Iron Lombax", so I stuck with TheIronLombax. I originally wanted to be NFSfreak, reason being Need For Speed games formed a part of my childhood, but that name was taken.Posted in: News

Yeah, I saw that too! I thought it was just because it was a new world I was running. Riding horses seems to be less laggy too. I wonder if they've overhauled the chunk generation...
True! On 1.6.4 I had major lag with low graphics quality and default resource pack (I think it was around 10 fps). Now, I'm getting 35 fps with everything in the video settings turned to the max with 128x resource packs. -

I absolutely love just about everything in this update, it opens up so many more things to do. By far my favourite update. - To post a comment, please login.

Thanks for the feedback, I personally don't think that birds should be tamed to attack like wolves, if they are tamable, then they should be a pet, like cats.
I guess I didn't search hard enough, but my idea is somewhat unique due to the fact that mine is the only one that adds a hostile bird. I need a higher variety of birds though. I'm gonna edit the OP and add a few birds to the list of types.

I think Minecraft should have more mobs as well as more food sources, that's why I'm suggesting birds. I don't know what else to say, so here are its stats:
Type:
Passive: Quail, Parrot, Canary
Hostile: Vulture
Neutral: Eagle
Drops:
Quails:
NEW!: 1 Raw Bird
1 Cooked quail (if killed by fire)
0-2 Feathers
1-2 XP
Vultures:
1 raw bird
1 Cooked bird (if killed by fire)
2-5 feathers
4-7 XP
Parrots:
1 Raw Bird
1 Cooked Bird (fire kill)
4 feathers
1-3 XP
Canaries:
1 Raw Bird
1 Cooked bird (fire kill)
0-1 feather
2 XP
Eagles:
1 Raw Bird
1 Cooked Bird
2-5 feathers
7-9 XP
Tamability:
Parrots are tamable! Walk up to them with 3-12 seeds of any type and right click them.
Spawn:
Jungle
Forest
Mesa Plateau
Savannah
Any biome with trees
Different types:
Jungle: Parrots
Savannah: Vultures
Mesa Plateau: Eagles?
Forest: Canaries?
The rest: Quails
Stats:
Quail: 1.5 Hearts (3 HP)
Vulture: 3.5 hearts (7 HP)
Eagle: 3 Hearts (6 HP)
Parrots: 2 Hearts (4 HP)
Canaries: 1 Heart (2 HP)
Being birds of flight, they can both fly. When they are aren't doing anything, they'll stand on leaf blocks, or if they were flying, they'll fly to the nearest leaf block and perch on it. If you come near a quail, it'll fly away. Vultures, however, are hostile and will attack you on sight (10 blocks away). They'll charge at you with their talons and deal damage depending on your difficulty:
Easy: 2 hearts
Normal: 3 hearts
Hard: 4.5 hearts
Eagles are neutral, and will only attack you if you attack them first. Here are their damage levels:
Easy:2.5 Hearts
Normal: 3.5 Hearts
Hard: 5 Hearts
Quails can be bred using seeds, if you hold them in your hand, they won't fly away and they will allow you to feed them.
That's about it, please vote in the poll and feel free to leave constructive criticism.
PS: This is my first suggestion thread, and I'm not an expert on birds.

The drops, don't make much sense... Why rotten flesh? Maybe have a new drop like raw skunk? Or something else... Like a sample of skunk gas, brewed into a potion of nausea or blindness or some random negative effect that will affect mobs, since nausea nor blindness wouldn't be much help in a single player world, unless of course you like having negative effects that don't kill you. Or if we want the unrealistic, yet slightly realistic approach... Black wool? Just a suggestion.
And I guess the rivalry would be a suitable addition. However, wolves, or just about ANY mobs in Minecraft, aren't affected by nausea or blindness, and the poison is weak and short, maybe make the poison either stronger, or longer lasting, like poison I for 12 seconds, or poison II for 6 seconds, changing it as difficulty increases.
Easy: Poison I for 7 seconds OR Poison II for 4 seconds
Normal: Poison I for 12 seconds OR Poison II for 8 seconds
Hard: Poison I for 20 seconds OR Poison II for 12 seconds
What do you think? Too OP? Tell me, I'll try a less OP approach.
Another thing, about the provoking properties, maybe if you got too close to them, they would unleash their gas on you, because as far as I know, skunks are quite territorial.
PS: Are they tamable?
PPS: Sorry for long - ish post.

Other than that, it's an interesting suggestion, it would be a nice little addition to Minecraft.
Also, about the wolf rivalry... Why? I haven't seen or read or heard about any skunks attacking wolves or vice-versa, because as far as I know, a wolf would try to maul a skunk to pieces, but the skunk would use its gas to chase it away, so they should be neutral to each other.

Okay, thanks Alex.
EDIT: I forgot to put the real reason for this post *facepalm*
There's a problem with using Coal Blocks in the Mythril Furnace. It only smelts the normal 80 blocks instead of doubling it to 160. I think you may have missed it when you ported Simple Ores to 1.6.2.

I realised some people might see it as normal so here's a screenshot of what I see:
I also tried reloading the page, but that made no difference.
