posted a message on Command Blocks In Your Inventory? [Suggestion]
    Quote from trollsack»
This is redundant and the reason they are not available in the inventory is that some people wouldn't know how to use them. The only way for the player to "prove" that he/she knows how to use commands is by typing it in!

    This.

"Need," as if the game will implode if it doesn't occur.

Also, this is Minecraft 360 Edition, not Minecraft for the 360. Please don't compare the two. If you want more stuff, then go play the PC version.

Minecraft for the 360? Sorry if I sound sort of dumb, I don't know any 360 other than the Xbox.

I agree, the console version doesn't need an update, but it will get one in due time.

The two can be compared in a sense, since they're essentially the same game, just one is behind the other one. Content-wise? Yeah, people shouldn't compare the two.

That'll be great, I've been waiting. They did a small update earlier this year. But it will be nice to have everything that's in the pc edition.

Not everything in the PC edition though, there's still the 1.7 and 1.8 that will need to be added to have all the stuff in the PC version. It'll probably take a long while to be on par with the PC edition, since 4J have 5 consoles with different specifications to worry about. However, 1.6.4 is still quite close to the latest version, 4J will probably also add a few things from the later versions earlier, much like they added carpets early, which is a 1.6 feature

posted a message on We were all noobs once. What is your minecraft noob story?
My first world was with cheats enabled and I only played on peaceful. I found a huge cave system and I made a minecart track, but I cheated in a few minecart rails. After a few real life days with my house looking extremely noobish, I decided to make iron gear and cheated with the enchantments. Turning the game to easy, I felt like such a boss on my first mob night only going for zombies and jumping every time something hit me from behind.

Now I'm playing on hard. Skellies in caves still make me jump though, random arrows hitting you from the darkness.

    Damn but I sucked..

posted a message on Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition Needs an Update
4J Studios are working on a huge update to the game to bring it to the equivalent of PC version 1.6.4. It will probably take a long time, since the current update for the consoles is equivalent to PC version 1.3.2. Through their tweets I've seen they're testing hoppers, the wither, all that stuff, so just be patient and a huge update will come your way :)

This update will be for all console versions just btw. You can follow or just check out 4J Studios on Twitter through this link.

posted a message on New Attack for Zombies!
I kind of like this idea, but it needs a certain radius to happen, not when a zombie sees you, especially if it has a 4/10 chance of happening ever 4 seconds. Skeletons already have a ranged attack, so having this within a small radius would make more sense. I'd love to see the animation for this :D

Half support, simply because it needs a bit more balancing. ;)

posted a message on What to do with cobblestone?
    Quote from Erebus53»
Yeah I smelt for the XP then turn the smooth stone into stone bricks.
I also use it for roads... lots of ROADS.
I link up my land with roads on the surface and have tunnels underneath that go to slightly different places, but have stairs up. Stairs use up 6 cobble and that goes fairly quickly when you are building diagonal stairs from level 10 to level 62 or whatever.

This. If I get a lot of cobblestone, I use it to make pathways to all my stuff, house, farm, mine, etc.

Also, like others said, smelt it, maybe make stone bricks and a castle type base. You'll find that with large scale builds eat up quite a lot of blocks :)
Or you can just make many small builds using cobblestone, it still eats it up either way.

If you aren't the building type, I can't really help you that much, if you have a staircase mine, make stairs, you'll go up and down much faster. Smelting it is an added bonus, but you'll have to make stone brick stairs since smooth stone doesn't have stairs.

posted a message on Why can't I run Minecraft 1.7.3 or higher and how do I fix it?
I've seen many of these threads, I'm not good with remembering crash reports, but when people say they can only run 1.7.2 and not higher, it's mainly because they don't have OpenGL 2.1. This is graphics support AFAIK, so the only fix to this would be to check for updates to your graphics card driver online and install them (this hardly ever installs OpenGL2.1 with it) or to buy a new graphics card altogether.

I could be wrong, but this is mainly the problem when I see these threads.

posted a message on Do you prefer minecraft vanilla or modded
I've been playing a lot more vanilla than mods recently. When I do play with mods I try not to go too overboard, since I also play it on the console and I don't want to make vanilla completely ruined, since my console purchase will just be a waste. Sometimes I do play with mod packs but they add in so many mods that it feels like an entirely different game.

posted a message on Where do I find servers?
There are plenty of servers that are 1.8 compatible right now, but most of them are small communities where you have to apply to get whitelisted. Just search "Minecraft vanilla 1.8 survival server" or something along those lines (vanilla means un-modded Minecraft)

    For this:

    [quote]Quote from ToiletSpoon »
Also, when new minecraft version come out, do we have to start all over to get the features of the new version if we started in 1.7 or does 1.7 carry over to 1.8?
I don't really understand what you mean by this, so my answer might not be correct, but yes, all your items and world data from 1.7 will carry over to 1.8, but new blocks and items that are generated with the world won't be available unless you generate new chunks. Just do not downgrade (open a 1.8 world in 1.7)! All the items in your chests and inventory will be gone! As soon as you open a world in 1.8, it is considered a 1.8 world, which uses a new inventory system or something, so opening that world in any version of 1.7 will delete all the items in chests and your inventory.

EDIT: You can also just ask on the forums for servers or go to the server section.

posted a message on Uses for TNT?
Some people go blast mining with TNT or just to clear out a large area underground. I sometimes use it in creative to flatten out an area to build. Other than that, I just like to fool around and watch the explosions :)

Other than that TNT isn't really that useful in my opinion, I personally avoid it in survival and when I do use it, it's in creative mode and for reasons stated above.

EDIT: Removed the TNT cannon use, since redstone isn't in MCPE yet.

posted a message on What is your favourite biome?
I mainly like plains because it's flat and open, easy to spot mobs and a nice place to build :)

Also, if you think rain is noisy, you can turn down the volume for just the rain, unless you're playing in 1.6.4 or earlier :)

posted a message on Has this ever happened to you?
Once I found every single ore except for iron while mining with my friend.. We were staircase mining downwards, then we found coal, then gold, lapis lazuli, redstone, diamonds and even emeralds.. Even emeralds!

Happily we found iron shortly afterwards and mined away at the gems and the gold and the redstone :)

posted a message on What's the name of the first song that plays at the title screen?
There are quite a few songs that play in the main menu and they're chosen at random. I have the names of all the main menu songs here, just search Minecraft OST - (Track Name)

    • Floating Trees
    • Moog City 2
    • Beginning 2
    • Mutation
EDIT: Here's where you can find C418's Minecraft music Volume Beta. It has all the songs added in 1.7 and the music disc tracks along with a few extras
