Right now, on the #MineCraftHelp IRC channel, the chances of you getting the help you need depends are based on when you get on. Because of this, if you have linux issue, you have to get on at a certain time if you're going to find someone that actually knows anything about Linux. It's the same with Macs. Also, some people know how to deal with some problems and not others and so it's all really hit-and-miss if you're going to get help. I suggest that here, we (the people who help on #MineCraftHelp) submit problems and fixes to posted here. This way, if you're trying to help someone, but you're not quite sure how, you can look here.
There are going to be a couple rules, though.
First, you can only submit a solution if you know it worked. To verify this, I'd like you to to send me a pm containing the IRC convo so I can look through it and find all the details like OS error messages. If it's really long, send me a pastebin.com link.
Second, I need a problem and a solution. I think it's best that we only add questions that have appeared in the channel. This will make sure that only the problems we will see in in the channel are here.
Hopefully, this will allow us to pool all our knowledge and speed up the process on #MineCraftHelp.
Everybody looks at minecraft and sees the textures and is all like "Hey, these are all cartoony and ****, this should run great!" The truth is, Minecraft is extremely dynamic. In other games, you can set what you'll be able to see from any one point before hand when you're making the map. In Minecraft, it has to decide what to display on the fly. Also, another thing that *might* help would be defragging you're drive. Because it has to access folders all the time, it's a lot easier if it doesn't have to move far.
Are you using a multicore proccessor? If i remember right this was also caused by multiple cores trying to run minecraft. With minecraft open, you can open up the task manager and find java, right-click it and choose set affinity then pick one core. See if that helps at all.
I laugh at death. No really. I would be perfectly fine if I died right now. I can't actually think of anything that I'm afraid of... There are situations that I'm uncomfortable in, but not afraid. I used to be afraid of spiders, but that's because I got huge bites.
Wait, I'm afraid of Cliff bars. Whenever I ssee something that looks like it I try and stay away. I'm really allergic to them.
GAH!!! I can't play for another half hour! You guys keep advancing farther but I can't even mess with it yet... By the time I get on, there will be nothing left to do...
I just need to figure out how i can make a T Flip Flop. After that, I'll probably try to design a 7-segment display and BCD decoder. Although, I have no idea where to even start with a BCD counter...
For a T Latch, I can just use a D and then connect the Qprev and T to the D, right?
I'm currently working on a clock. it's going to be massive though... luckily, INVedit will make things much easier.
It's not actually going to display an accurate time, unfortunately.
I'm starting out by trying to figure out how i should do the display. I could do digital, but the wiring would be weird and you'd probably have to get up on a pedestal to even see it because it'd be so big. Just a binary thing would be easier.
I think when he said he was stressed, he meant that he was stressed out by all the anticipation. Think about it; basically every paid member of MC wants multiplayer extremely badly. It's a lot of pressure, I think.
No.
Let me cover 2 things.
1. He did start it. Back before the break. He has not started work on it since he's been back to work.
2. With exception to the carts, he hasn't added anything that will make it harder. And the only thing about carts that will be harder will be making the movement smooth, and that won't be to hard.
PS don't go saying "But Cassian the bible never says to hate gays and blacks!" because really, the easy to find ones, and the ones in the church's have so much taken out of them, and most the translations from probably over 100 million translations probably removed some of that stuff and failed to say the proper words
Really... Did you really just say that? It's PROBABLY in the original?

You'll also find that most of the swearing is done by kids.

I'm sorry, I missed where anybody commented on your intelligence?

2: The other board is for support not server links. And you're supposed to post links in the sticky'd topic, so you're wrong.
3:It's on the blog... Notch is the one who does that so we have no better idea than you do. Probably true considering the developer said it.
4: inb4 topic locked.

oh wow.... that's much smaller than what i was doing... I had NAND's, AND's, and a XOR and it was just a mess...
Thanks.

I'm making a circuit... does it really matter? You know how much time I'd waste just trying to find the materials?
