yeah it looks to neonish...and like cobble stone so like really green cobble stone

Lol yes, I was playing around with the colors after I figured it was too dark and after deciding it looked ugly no matter what color it was I started a new grass texture from scratch. I didn't finish today but hopefully sometime tomorrow I'll have something presentable.

To avoid confusion I took down the pic.

You could probly turn that grass texture into a gravel one. It tiles very well.

Duly noted. I'll play around with that idea, though I somewhat like the gravel texture I currently have.

Your grass looks more like a bush texture especially with Better GRASS mOD.

Lol yea that's why I decided to start the grass over from scratch. It looks funny with the better grass mod and I love that mod so I'm gonna come up with something that looks better with it.

Was hoping to try out the pinetree generator but, like with most other .jars I try to run they never work.

Me and a couple other people got this error when trying to run persistor.jar and hey0 ended up fixing it for us. Not sure how though, sorry.

Worked on the pack for a couple hours today. Got the solid gold/iron/diamond blocks pretty much done, redid cloth to look more like fancy wallpaper/carpet but it needs a bit more work. Touched up the iron door, and fixed the bookshelf block so the top row books aren't as thin and I'm pretty happy with it, so that's pretty much finalized. Adjusted a few colors here and there then started a new grass from scratch. I didn't like how it looked with the better grass mod, and I always felt it was a bit too dark and sloppy.

I'll continue work tomorrow and I'll post some pics then. Also planning on changing the torch fire animations so I can try and make the lamps a bit smaller.

Be on the lookout for more updates coming up.

    Tibia? Oh wait!

nice using of Tibia's graphics btw

Wow, good eye! Both the cobble and the round bush came from Tibia. At first I didn't think the cobble matched that one but looking through my reference textures I found the original which I re-googled and found again on the tibia wiki.

Several of my tiles come from reference art, out of 70+ blocks only 4 were originally 32x textures and a couple more were scaled down from larger photos. (like my doors were originally large HD textures and then down-scaled) All of which were filtered, recolored, and made to work together.

Also, thanks for the support guys, I'm gonna work on my pack more today and if all goes well I can see if I can get something out this week.

Oh man I am sooooo happy brick works with my texture pack now. I used to get mad when people used it, but now it looks awesome!

brick makes a fantastic accentuation trim!
note: redtorch is a left over texture from another texture pack, not my work.

bookcase, probably gonna make top row books thicker.

flowing water and bricks, better than ever!

    edit: resized, added pics.

Hello, your highness! Is the server still up? Last time I tried to connect it was down.

Wow the mapping and modding section of this forum has blown up! Never seen it move so fast.

Just wanted to put out the word that I will resume work on my pack. The fine lad who has fixed the 32x32 glitch has inspired me to continue.

Look for updates to this pack this weekend.

    Brilliant!

Any way you could add a couple different styles? I'd personally love to see a square in the top right corner instead, or a circle.

Keep up the good work, miner.

posted a message on HD texture fix [Feb22: 1.3 support, fixed compass]
Well this is quite inspiring, I will work on my texture pack this weekend.

    Two questions:

Can you offer a version that fixes bricks and gold blocks, but DOESN'T fix water and lava animation? Having a custom colored water and lava is quite important to me, and making a texture pack really change the game feel.

Even more difficult, would there be any way you could tweak fire and lava? From what I understand the animations are code based, and I was wondering if you could possibly change the color values for water to be a more dull teal color, much like the color of doku's and my texture pack. (mine is slightly more blue, but anything more realistic than the vibrant blue would be welcomed)

Thank you for this effort, good to see SOMEONE is still working on Minecraft! (huehuehue)

will you have animated water ?
Im using a similar medevial-theme now, but there is no animation on the water on this one.

The texture pack uses x32 resolution, and any resolution above Minecraft's standard x16 will cause animations to not generate properly. It is something Notch is aware of and plans on eventually fixing. Until then, you will have to accept the still water, or use a standard resolution pack.

Just do a WIP so people can with it until you start working on it again. This way you can get more opinions on things that people might or might not want changed. Almost all good texture packs do this, otherwise you will never release it because it will never look perfect to you.

Like I said before, I will certainly never be 100% happy with the pack, that's why after I get everything into a standardized, well polished state it will be released, but there will always be version updates similar to how doku goes about it. I am already satisfied with many of the blocks and would be happy to have them released as-is, with potential to be updated or changed later. There is a lot of blocks not shown which are nothing more than place holders or a blurry mess. Releasing a 60-70% finished W.I.P. opens the door to many people finishing the texture pack themselves, which would mean the texture pack, carrying my name, will have works in it not done by me. That has the potential to tarnish my good name and hard work if sub-standard blocks or blocks that I feel don't fit or work with my pack are added by others and people assume them to be done by me. So for these reasons I am 100% against releasing this unfinished.

That said I can understand people's frustrations from lack of updates, and if you think I should only be allowed to update this thread when my pack is done rather than have direct and up-to-date access to progress and update reports as soon as they are created, well first I'd call you silly, but then I'd say that would be up to a moderator to choose if he should allow this work-in-progress showing to continue, or disallow me to preview updates of my project as I see fit.

As always, this will be the first and only place I will show and explain my project updates, regardless of interval lengths, to the minecraft community. I again thank everyone who has followed my progress and lent their support, and due to the distress my extended time away has caused, will try and keep more regular updates, even if they are content lacking. I know this is probably the second most popular texture pack project next to the famous doku pack, and will do my best to meet everyone's expectations both chronological and quality wise.

    Thank you,
    Emperorr
