Have the requirements to play (Windows 10 Bedrock, 2070 Super) but launched the game and see none of the menus mentioned. Look into it further and find I have to download another app(xbox insider?), sign up, blah blah blah. Pass.

I keep hoping they'll fix the terrain generation. The "buffet" option should allow you choose multiple biomes so you can have a taiga/jungle world or a desert/plains/roofed forest world....
Oh and even the buffet option is f'd up...I just created a custom buffet "Plains" world and there were mobs everywhere...burning up in the middle of the day....just like PhatCorsair said.

As others have mentioned the world gen/tree gen needs work. Random stumps that go 3 blocks into the ground, yet a live tree doesn't. Found a birch tree with oak wood as the bottom block. First village I ran into had a huge swath cut right through one of the gardens so that only one chopped off row of wheat was on each side. I'll check back with the next snapshot, but unable to even make a crafting table kinda puts a damper on trying out a new world.

This is a great site for any curved features needed. There's actually plans for a full-size Wizards tower on plotz which you can follow if you don't have it built already. Took me forever to get material and build it, but I built it out of obsidian on the first survival server I ever played on. It turned out awesome.

Spruce seems to be one of the quickest trees to get lots of wood from fast...that would be perfect! The 4x4 spruce grow fast, have no branches, and provide tons of wood. I'd say you're lucky!

Unless you have a beef with the creator, why does it matter? Don't use it if you don't want to...no one is forcing you to like it or use it.

Lol, I don't blame him...those little suckers are a pain!
Nice find...that should be a fun little mob farm!

You can also use a mini-map mod like Xaeros to help find more caves. Once you're underground, it'll show you quite a bit in the area and which direction to go to light up new ones.

I'm not sure if this will help, but TheMasterCaver is a regular on these forums and he'll tell you that more memory allocated isn't always better and can actually make it worse. It'll cost you 2 minutes of your time, but try setting your memory back to 2 gb allocation. It looks like you have only 8gb RAM installed if I'm reading that right....your system may be getting bogged down since you're trying to allocate half of it to the game. If that doesn't help, you can always set it back to 4 if you choose.
Minecraft is actually more CPU dependent to an extent so getting a new video card isn't always going to be as much of a boost as you think.

I run my afk fishing overnight and several hours during the day sometime and haven't had a problem in 1.14 or 1.15. Not sure what the issue is for the OP, but depending on the design of his fish farm, it SHOULD still work.

Thank you for the fast update to 1.15.1... It's greatly appreciated! My friend and I were just commenting the other day how lost we are without our minimaps and waypoints. Thanks again!

GeoFor and I are in agreement...the distance you stand makes a big difference.
I got a good trick for you instead of the rubber band...just go into options - controls and switch your spacebar and right mouse controls. Just set something on your spacebar (like a stapler or paperweight) and that's it. A lot quicker than resting stuff on your mouse or having to wind a rubber band around it.

I did try my fish farm on 1.15.1 and it seems to be working fine. Try those tips I told you and let us know how it works.

Without seeing it completely, it looks similar to my fish farm or some other versions that are very close. Try some slight variations to how close you're standing and also your aim. These types of fishing farms usually prefer being aimed directly at the front edge of the trap door, not the top and can give inconsistent results if you stand too close or too far away. Once you get if figured out, it's easy to repeat and you shouldn't have a problem.
One thing...I built mine in 1.14.4 and have not tried it since my Realms migrated to 1.15.1 so that could be an issue that I haven't experienced yet and YMMV.

If you or your friends have cheats available or admin controls, you can set "/gamerule doFireTick false" and that will stop fire from spreading and stop fire destroying a block that catches fire.

I wouldn't mess with your computer yet. 1.15 isn't even officially released yet so there may still be some bug fixing/optimization going on yet. I saw someone else mention a big FPS decrease in 1.15 so it's not just you. Wait until 1.15 is official.

My buddy and I noticed recently that in all the hours and hours of fishing we both have done, we're able to find Protection, Fire Protection and Blast Protection books, but there's not a single Projectile Protection book to be found. I know it hasn't been completely removed since I can see the book when I go in creative. Has this been removed in book form in survival and only available from an enchanting table now? We were thinking it would come in handy when we're hunting mobs in our pyramid as there's often times we're facing 10 plus skeletons at once....

Depending on your preferences, Sphax is a great resource pack. Usually one of the quickest packs that gets updated to new MC versions. They even have a Xmas version that I'm using currently. And the last time I tried a shader, they worked just fine together.
