posted a message on Single Player Commands [V4.9] - Official Download [SPC] [+NoClip]
Simo, I love using SPC and the WorldEdit add-on! It's great for rapidly prototyping constructions and I really appreciate all the work you've put into it. However, I recently saw a video of the VoxelSniper tools in use and was incredibly impressed by their utility in sculpting and modifying natural looking terrain. I realized that WorldEdit has many of VS's features already but would it be possible to get brushes like the "splatter", "erosion", "ink", "blend" and "overlay/topsoil" added? This would help with editing natural looking terrain in single player immensely!

Alternatively, is there a way to get VoxelSniper as an additional plugin for SPC?

posted a message on VoxelSniper, or WorldEdit?
I'd really like to see the Voxel Sniper commands available for single player use. This is one huge advantage WorldEdit has over Voxel Sniper since WorldEdit is compatible with the Single Player Commands mod. If Voxel Sniper was available for single player, I would convert from WorldEdit to Voxel Sniper in a flash.

Hey guys. Sorry about the long disappearance. I really don't have much of an excuse other than I got sidetracked by other things in real life and the mod kinda dropped off my priority list. I'm out of touch with what the latest developments are but I'm willing to update the OP. If anyone can make a list of changes needed, I'll update the OP asap. I'm still interested in the continued survival of this mod. :smile.gif:

EDIT: I noticed that I really need to update the banners. I'll see if I can't do something about those before the end of the week. I'm thinking we should advertise it as a mod instead. Also, perhaps we should consider having a mod or admin move this topic to the Mods section? Your thoughts are appreciated.

srry guy but if you dont know what alpha and beta is then sometihng is wrong with you .....

    your ''alpha'' is classic
before beta there was alpha i played they get everything for free if it goes get released for full users that payed at beta must buy updates if it gets released .... :biggrin.gif:

Sorry guy, but if English is your first language and you're unable to use basic grammar, spelling and sentence structure then there's something wrong with you .....
(i.e. maybe you should pay more attention in school.)

@ChocolateChip03:If you've already purchased Minecraft, this update will be free.

Minecraft is currently in "Beta". If you purchase or have purchased Minecraft during this time, Notch has said all releases up to the final version will be free. After the "full version" of the game is officially released, future updates will probably cost money. Notch has said the "full version" will be released on November 11th, 2011.

Exception: If you purchased the game while it was still in "Alpha", you will get all future updates free.

EDIT: I'm very sad about my water ladders no longer functioning. Someone mentioned that this bug/feature was removed in 1.5 but I've only just noticed it in 1.6. Regular ladders are just so slooooow.

Curved Rails are not buggy; they are unintuitive. Curved Rails follow the South-West rule (like everything else in Minecraft). Once unpowered, Curved Rails will seek an orientation that allows them to connect to the south and/or west. This leads to the common occurrence of someone building a north-east curve, only to discover that it turns unexpectedly south-east or north-west when they switch the power on and off.

A new block/rail type is not needed, but something should definitely be added to the proposal (but not the mod!) about improving the intuitiveness of Curved Rails. My initial suggestion: give them a redstone indicator light and allow them to remember the orientation they were placed in. Then, they simply seek an alternative orientation when they get powered up, and return to the placed orientation when unpowered. Unfortunately, I can already think of a flaw or two with this suggestion, so if anyone has a better idea, speak up.

Hmm. I agree that they're unintuitive, but I don't have any ideas for improving them. I find that after placing a switch section of track I'll give it a quick on-off flash of RS power to "set" it and make sure it's working the way I intended. Until someone comes up with something better, this method works for me. ;-)

So thanks for the help, guys. Found out that my craftBukkit installation, which I was scp-ing to the server, didn't have any of the read/write access that the "runServer" script actually needed.

Anyway, I'm trying this out on my server that's among some friends (I'd invite you guys to join, but it's behind a nice firewall that I don't have access to).

Hopefully I'll make a video showing off some of the features, soon.

    Thanks!

Great to know you got it working! We look forward to seeing your vid of it in action!

So new the forum layout made it hard to find anything I had posted in before... let's hope I don't lose track of the thread this time.

Nice work on the SMP version McMod, very useful.

    (Also woot 100th post!)

Don't forget, you can now bookmark favourite topics again with the "watch this topic" button at the top of the page. First thing I did when I logged on was start digging through the forums bookmarking all my old fav topics. This one was of course the first to be tagged. :smile.gif:

I have already added a version number in the style of modloader: the last release for SSP is version 1.5_01v2 and the next release will be 1.5_01v3 (I'll also keep the SMP version number in-sync with the SSP one for sanity reasons). Additionally the CraftBukkit mod is not a plugin, their plugin system is far too limited for a mod like ours, if you could correct the OP that would be great.

Fixed. Thanks for the heads up.

Can anyone confirm what mrmucha posted? Did he just fix some things? I'd rather not download a virus or compromised mod.

Awesome job mcmodder_07!! I have one minor request though, could you start adding build or version numbers for each release? It would help with tracking bugs, new and updated features, and also help with general organization. Thanks!

Oh, and the OP has been updated with the latest downloads. Please let me know if I've made any mistakes.

Lol, well one thing you missed is changing the date for "Latest Update". I'll start picking through the OP tomorrow.

Fixed! In other news, Notch has officially removed the glitch-booster trick. As seen on his twitter here: http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/68693850062995456

Minecarts Mk.II is needed more than ever.

Hahaha, I loved the video! One little thing though. My name is pronounced like the word "anonymous" except it's "eh-nonymous" instead of "ah-nonymous". ;-)

Also, I think I'll change the official name of the detectors to "wood" and "stone" to match what mcmodder_07 has called them. I guess it's a little easier to say "stone detector block" rather than "occupied minecart detector block" even if it's not quite as descriptive. Lastly, what do you guys think about making booster-brakes and full-stops slope compatible? Perhaps mcmodder_07 could provide us with some insight.

With new update this is pointless. and people who ***** about the new update IT IS NOT BALANCED TO HAVE A BOOSTER THAT MAKES YOU ABLE TO CLIMB HILLS WITHOUT LOOSING SPEED!

I sorta like the idea but the textures are non-minecraft-ey and the detecor blocks are pointless against the detecor track and the 2 other booster/stopper tracks are compressed into one thing.

So in short, dont download because the features you are looking for are laready in the game!

First, please learn to spell and use proper grammar. It will help make you look less unintelligent. :smile.gif:

Second, there are a variety of reasons why we feel the new update is inadequate. Climbing hills without losing speed is a relatively inconsequential issue compared to the numerous other gameplay problems that Jeb's addition failed to address. The textures were designed to match the redstone torches in Minecraft. If they're not "minecraft-ey" enough for you then I apologize. I'm not junkboy, nor do I work for Mojang, but I did try to do my best to make them look like they might have been produced by their team. Also, there is a significant difference between the detector plate and our proposed detector blocks. If you had paid any attention to the FAQ you might have noticed that I address this difference and explain why we feel our version is superior. Lastly, I would disagree that the features in our mod are already in the game. While similar, there are some fundamental differences that we feel make our mod a preferred method of incorporating boosters in every way.
