Update: I tried to run Minecraft Alpha and it was sucessful. However, when I press F3, it shows that Minecraft is consuming ~200MB of memory, but the process is ocupying 1GB and keep going higher until 5GB. So the memory leak is definitly not related to Minecraft itself (????).
Post the crash report. Crash reports are found in the crash-reports folder under the .minecraft folder.
There's no crash report because the game didn't crash, since I ended the process with the task manager. Even if I continued to run the game, my PC would crash before Minecraft does (I tested it).
Hi. This issue started this week. Whenever I try to launch Minecraft, the Java process starts to use a lot of ram. It starts small and continue to rise until my computer crashes and the process is using ~5GB. I have 8GB of ram and this never happened to me before. At first I thought it was a MultiMC bug (I was trying to launch 1.12.2 lightly modded), but when I tried the Vanilla launcher with the Vanilla 1.14 it did the very same thing.

I have the latest Java (ver 8 211) and the latest GeForce driver (ver 430.39).
My thesis is that Java is not respecting the -Xmx argument or something external is making the memory go nuts.
1. On the 1.8 and 1.8.1, when I turn on the video setting 'Use VBOs' the game crash.

Update: I tried to run Minecraft Alpha and it was sucessful. However, when I press F3, it shows that Minecraft is consuming ~200MB of memory, but the process is ocupying 1GB and keep going higher until 5GB. So the memory leak is definitly not related to Minecraft itself (????).
I tried to run a server and it works perfectly.

There's no crash report because the game didn't crash, since I ended the process with the task manager. Even if I continued to run the game, my PC would crash before Minecraft does (I tested it).

Hi. This issue started this week. Whenever I try to launch Minecraft, the Java process starts to use a lot of ram. It starts small and continue to rise until my computer crashes and the process is using ~5GB. I have 8GB of ram and this never happened to me before. At first I thought it was a MultiMC bug (I was trying to launch 1.12.2 lightly modded), but when I tried the Vanilla launcher with the Vanilla 1.14 it did the very same thing.

I have the latest Java (ver 8 211) and the latest GeForce driver (ver 430.39).
My thesis is that Java is not respecting the -Xmx argument or something external is making the memory go nuts.
