I'm surprised this idea isn't getting more love. Maybe not very many have tried superflat yet?

I agree with FireHawkDelta. I would like to have marble in MineCraft, but not the way you suggest it.

    Quote from jedijrt
OK so I was getting mad that my sister was getting epic forest seeds. So... I typed in pineywoods as my seed expecting to get a nice forest. I got the exact opposite... A giant ocean!

Ummm. . . just so you know, the MEANING of the words in your seed has NOTHING to do with the world it creates. The letters are simply converted to numbers before they are used as the seed.

More farm-type animals: horses, goats, rabbits, ducks/geese, and maybe dogs and cats.

Unless you're in peaceful. No slimes there! LOL! Just a lot of flat green with a village every now and then that looks pretty much like every other village. Wishing for at least a snow biome on superflat. . . <snif!>

posted a message on Question about superflat world creation
Ok, apparently I'm not the only one who wants to be able to control biomes and land "altitude" in superflat. I've jumped on the bandwagon in this thread in the Suggestions section, and I hope more people do the same:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/947705-superflat-world-generation/

its used for creative mode (no trees or dimond, ore, gold or anything just dirt and bed rock.

Actually, in Creative mode, all of those items are in unlimited hidden inventory, anyway, so no need to find them or craft them.

it'll be cool if there was a mod that gave you like carpets, couches, tables, chairs, cabinets, fridges, you name it!

I like this idea! One of my worlds is specifically for the purpose of trying out different house plans in designing our future home. It would be really nice to be able to make it actually look like a house instead of a collection of kludges. Realistically-scaled building materials (rather than 1-meter-thick walls) would be a plus, as well.

    @Leohin:

    1. The OP expressly specified a MOD.
    2. Who cares? Maybe you ought to read yoshi9048's thread here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/503191-for-the-critics/#HAUS
    3. 4. Kludges, and not very good ones at that. We want realistic here.

I would like to see this as well, particularly the ability to control which biome(s) we get. (Personally, I would like to create a superflat world with part grassland, part snow biomes.) I would also like to have the ability to control the depth/height of the flat plane.

    Quote from Tylocaust

You could try a mod or world editor like MCEdit... but unfortunately other than an outside source no.

Ok, I'll have to take a look at MCEdit. (I'm a n00b, so I'll have to search it out.) Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait on this particular idea of mine until we can get an update to superflat that lets us have some control over the biomes.

    Thanks for your help!

Unless they add an option to change the biome manually when starting a superflat map... we are stuck with good ol' grasslands.

Crud! :sad.gif: And there's no way to generate an area of snow biome in an existing world, right?

do the seed gimmeabreak then u will have a veillage

I think that "Generate Structures" set to ON will pretty much always give you a village somewhere. I'm not looking for villages. In fact, I don't want any villages. I want a biome OTHER than plain, flat grassland (preferrably split between plain, flat grassland and plain, flat snow biomes).

Therefore anyone who uses the superflat map type will end up in a world virtually identical to anyone else.

That leads me to a question. If I have "Generate Structures" turned OFF, will my world ALWAYS be 100% grass/dirt at level y=5? Is there any possibility of another biome, or possibly multiple biomes? Is there a way to control that if I hit on just the right seed?

I should add that I posted this in the Seeds section because I'm wondering whether I need a seed to do this, or whether it's even possible at all.

posted a message on Question about superflat world creation
If I create a new world, superflat type, in creative mode with Generate Structures turned OFF, will it ALWAYS be totally flat plain grass/dirt at y=5 for the entire map, regardless of the seed? I'm hoping to find a way to create a world on superflat with no structures that is part grass/dirt, part snow. (Ideally I would like for it to be somewhat higher than y=5, maybe y=32 or so, but I'm probably asking for too much at this point.)
