posted a message on [CTM][Collection] RenderXR's Untold Stories Series

Just managed to finish The Sower jut in time for Christmas, after getting a couple of hours every other night for the last month. :) Between the two of us, we accumulated 355 deaths, and had great laughs along the way. Pretty solid map in my opinion, balancing seemed pretty good, it was only once we got to the final flower room things really went pair-shaped. Much kamikaze creeper-hugging ensued!

The modified natural spawns was interesting - my guess is that it helped keep the number of skeletons down in the first area(s) until we could afford shields? It certainly felt like it helped the progression in the beginning anyway, and supplied many insults! My only real criticism was the location of the blue orchid - I'd seen the entrance previously and was hoping for a full themed area, but equally didn't approach it until near the end, as I expected it to be one of the later areas. As such, I was a tad disappointed by the succinctness, though I should've guessed this would be the case by the flower order. Anyway, thanks for another amazing map and a Merry Christmas :)

Well I'm here, and I'm gonna log a quite satisfied time of 1hr and 38mins for a full solution.

It's a great map, takes some clever planning and some deep thinking to work out each and every step, but it's pretty fun. :)

My only issue is the lack of checkpoints, but I can understand why they would completely ruin the map. I used 2 wold backups as save states to reach my solution (start of black and white). It also took me a while to properly differentiate between on and off states. Maybe this could be indicated in a better way. A greater color contrast perhaps, or a symbol on the 'off' colors that can be clearly seen. On the other hand, I guess this just could be part of the puzzle.

Might see about completing a no-saves run and seeing how long it takes, but not tonight ;)

Overall, one of my favorites in a long time. Didn't get on well with other entries in the series previously, but this makes me want to give them another try.

posted a message on [CTM/RFW] -- Black Shadow's Map Collection - CTM And Other Maps --

After finishing the map, and collecting the books, i have some better ideas on this character.

    Book 1

A nice little morse code, although i'm not sure what 'got it' means. I've translated the morse to

but without knowing which letters in the watch code should be caps, I've got no further. EDIT: A quick google fixes the caps and leads me to Remember Me OST soundtrack - Memorize. Remember me is a game from 2013, with many characters in, so my options are spread out again.

    Book 2

Just a pair of Roman numerals, 8 and 13. Doesn't mean a lot to me by itself.

    Book 3

Finally some proper clues, I quickly recognized this as hexadecimal. I've translated it to 'Flurry of Dancing Flames'. This leads me to Axel from the Kingdom hearts series. He is Rank VIII within Organization XIII, giving meaning to the numbers previously.

    Book 4

The address leads back to Wolves (which is a pretty good song I have to admit). Between the specified times are the lyrics'Will we meet again, somewhere at the end somewhere far beyond this place . its a hopeless cause but ill fight the odds for a chance to see your face.'

    Conclusion thus far

If you take 'Remember me' at face value, (as those words rather than the game), the clues seem to point to Axel as the character. The 3rd book gives his other name and the 2nd his position. After that it becomes unclear, as I've never played Kingdom hearts. Remember me is possibly something from KH, wikia suggests it could be relevant and similar with Bk4. I wish to delve no further into the plot, as I fear I would butcher it and probably anger some HK fans. For now , Case Closed.

Probably not going to do this one, fear and Halloween aint my thing, and unless I have a stroke of genius, I doubt I'll get a decent idea together in time for the one's I'm free for.

Should we post speedruns here too? Cuz I did a run of Rising Heat

Good idea, not only does it keep the thread active, but it gives the mapmakers something to watch and gather feedback on.

    And my map begins!

It's going to be no-where near as good as some of the other I see on here, but it should be alright if I get it finished.
