Now that I think about it, install PocketInvEditor and reset your Y value to 130. It can be accomplished under Edit World Info -> Move Player.

Although it may not look like you are falling... you are. It didn't look like I was falling either. It may take a very long time for you to come down but just let it sit there and disable locking on your device so it stays on. Eventually you will come down.

I'm not neccisarily speaking of physical external storage like and SD card or a USB drive. Android carves out several partitions (spaces) on the internal storage and it sometimes calls it SD Card even though it is not. When you did a factory reset, it is possible that the device memory where all of the system files got reset, but the SDcard0 (it's usually called this) is untouched. The scenario that I am picturing in my head is that, if that storage is full then Minecraft may not be able to make a complete set of save files hence causing the corruption. It may very well not be this, but it's the theory I am going on. So if you go to Storage, look under Device Memory or Internal Storage. Is there another area that displays available space?
How much memory does your son's tablet advertise? For example, there are iPhone 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, etc...
Factory reset wipes alldata from the device that was created by the user. The only things it won't wipe are the things that were installed by the manufacturer.
I'm afraid that is not 100% true. External storage, such as places where videos and pictures are kept are not wiped out. I have my Minecraft PE world files (not the application necessarily) stored on my external storage so whenever I need to do a factory reset on my phone, my worlds are safe.
My son has an inexpensive Nobis tablet. We were having major issues with several things including Minecraft, so I did a factory reset to the tablet last night. Prior to the reset, Minecraft would not save any worlds for him. He could play for several hours but if he would exit the game and come back to it later, everything would be gone. The factory reset had no issues, I logged into his Google acct, and MinecraftPE installed with no issues. This morning I was excited to tell him everything looked good. He loaded Minecraft and tried to begin a new world. He named his world and when he tried to begin, he kept getting the error "Kyler (world name) is corrupt and cannot respond". Any suggestions on how I can help him?
It's likely that the factory reset did not remove any of his old Minecraft files which may be corrupt. Have him create a new world with a name he has never used before. It should generate new files. Also make sure he is on the latest version which is 0.9.5.
But if it still doesn't work, then that device isn't supported.

The "off" feature you were talking about is there because you have a single core processor device. (I don't have a device with just one core so I don't see the option.) Now that you have enabled that you can go into the main screen and create a new world under Advanced using unlimited but expect it to run slow and likely have problems. But if you can make it work, more power to you!
I have version 0.9.5 for Android on a ZTE Reef. I set the slider for world size limit to the off position, then started a new survival map. But, the map is still limited in size. Any way to fix this?
When creating a new world, you have to click on Advanced to set the world to unlimited. I've never seen an "off" position.
I don't understand anything about Minecraft, but my kids play on their ipads, Minecraft PE. They used to be able to join the same world, but I did an update yesterday and since they cannot join the same world. She can't get onto his world and he can't get onto hers. We are all on the same wifi. I checked they are both on muliplayer. A friend can join each of their worlds but the 3 kids can no longer play together. Is this one of the problems? Any ideas how to fix? Is this one of the issues with the new Minecraft, and is this one that scheduled to be fixed with the new updates?
Chances are that your kids are on 0.9.2 and their friend is on 0.9.1 meaning that his multiplayer works fine but your kids are not working. Word is that 0.9.3 will be released within the next day for iOS so that should fix the issue. It has indeed fixed my multiplayer issue after I updated to 0.9.3 on android.
So completely without intending too, I left my phone on running Minecraft... when I came back to it my guy was on the ground dead. Yeahhhh! (Weird to be wanting this). After I respawned, I was at my usual spawn point. So I guess just leave it on and wait for the poor guy to fall like Bonmorane said, it could be a long fall.
I believe you are right although I can't find anything to move towards to and I've been falling for like 10 minutes. Perhaps we can get a quick 0.9.2a patch.

In settings look for Storage. Look for the total space for USB Storage or SD Card.
If it is out of space, it may not be able to create new files.
