Any updates for a possible release, you did say it would be around the JC pre-release, and that was today!
BTW Diego that's my same exact concern. I really want this mod in my private mod pack, but with it replacing sooo many features, I may have to leave it out.. I hope I don't have to though. Also the new JC pre-release came out, but I can't find it on the downloads page. Since the JC forum has been took en down, and I don't have an enjin account, I decided to post this here.
That was the plan a month ago, but we opted to take a step back and make it right the first time. We are working, but can't give a release date :/
could you possibly make a way to change the config to add all the minecraft mobs but still have the EcoCraft ones too, even revamped mobs.. aswell as all the vanilla items and regular biomes, I'm pretty sure many others would like this..
There is no plan to create new biomes to replace vanilla ones. However we will offer a biome mod (based off Highlands)
We will most likely replace all vanilla mobs as part of default EC, including adding new animals. I dont see a reason to keep old vanilla models while adding in tons of animals with completely revamped model styles.
The question of keeping in things vanilla, just to be compatible, leaves some problems. The economy will be based around supply and demand, just as in the real world. Keeping in vanilla items that do not fit the "economic system" have to be removed because they will create chaos in the economy.
We are doing everything we can to keep vanilla and other mods things working, but at some point the genetics, AI, and economics create barriers where we can't allow some vanilla or other mod things to remain.
Hey EcoCraftTeam, I would like to know if you could make a teaser trailer for the mod, kinda like JurassiCraft 2.0's trailer by CaffCast. I would really like to see one, and maybe even a youtube channel.. - a123b23
Caff will make us a video eventually, but like Cucho said, we are still very WIP in terms of gameplay.
Will the "infinite" texture system kinda work like: you texture 1 form of hair, and texture 50 more. When a villager spawns it will have a random hair color, and a different hair style every time. Once each hairstyle is taken, a villager will spawn with a new type, and this goes the same for clothes and skin color and eyes, except every villager mixes and matches each type, almost to the point there are an "infinite" amount of villager skins. Correct me if I'm wrong EcoCraftMod.
-Forgot to add, will baby animals and villagers have some resemblance to their parents, or will they be part of the random texturing process too..
Yep, you got the general Idea. Textures/Skins will be tied to genes so offspring will look their parents.
Humans instead of villagers WOULD be much better than the stadard villager. But don't you think it would take to much of minecraft away if they changed steve/alex to a more realistic model? It depends on the model but I think it would take to much away from minecraft. Replacing villagers with humans though.... Does sound good. Like MCA.
Diego you said it best... I definitely think it would take too much away from Minecraft to remodel villagers/humans... Plan is to have an extensive texturing system, but keep the models standard bi-ped (like MCA, helpful villagers, etc)
Sorry WhaleBoi, I can sometimes get names mixed up and wrong
Also, you guys should try to team up with the Fantastic Fish team. They are AMAZING coders and modelers, and you two have something in common: Setting goals way higher than we think you can do them, but still managing to pull through, although I don't know if they'll want to join.. just ask.
Thanks for the headsup! I'll message them! You said it perfectly, "...you guy should team up...". That's how EC has been able to grow successfully; letting people do what they do best and not getting in there way
Are you guys going to have the same prizes as JurassiCraft? Or maybe some new one? I want to have an ecocraft cape for one, 20$ suggest a mob and some other things you can do. I have been around for quite some time active with JC and now EC. It's gonna be amazing donating for my two favorite mods! can't wait! Oh and when DO you think the first snapshot will be released?
We will have similar prizes, however I"m not sure when the first beta will be released. We have been gaining a lot of new members, tons of new content, and our animal list has grown enormously.
I have a suggestion. Can you make it so that in worlds that have already been made diamond tools and armour get replaced by steel, I really want to still have a full set of a tough armour, without searching for it.
Well technically diamond armor still exists in game, but it is not craft-able or accessible from the creative menu. So you could use it, but it isnt recommended. We could add a way to get the diamonds back from your armor.

I dont see why we wouldnt add it when the time comes, but it will take time to create all the textures.

Eventually yes, all animals including dinos will be required to drink water, however it will not be added as a top priority.

Any specific permission required of timeless mods, allowing LLib to use the AnimationAPI, have been given.

No, we will not remove redstone. Just like making a new "human model", it would take too much away from MC if there was no redstone.

Hmmmmmm...
Too hard to say. 20% - 50%, based on how you want to measure.
We have about 90% of all base system (code) in place, but we need to finish of many loose ends and add massive amounts of content that uses that code.

Welcome to the team!

Everything that is on the forum, unless labeled WIP, is currently in the mod. We still have a lot of work to do for the snapshot release

No, they are a base ingredient for steel (Iron + diamond). I haven't put that in the forum yet
