I get this error message when I try to run an installation using 1.18.1 release, but not when I run 1.18.1 snapshot. The same occurred with 1.18 release and snapshot. I have done all the suggested JAVA fixes (including uninstalling and reinstalling JAVA, running JAVA as administrator, and upping the JAVA_OPTIONS to –Xmx512M), to no avail. I find it strange that the snapshot works but not the release.
First time checking out a snapshot, found a bug in boats. When you enter a boat you are told Left Shift to dismount. If you do you are sent back to where you entered the boat and the boat then becomes impossible to enter and cannot be destroyed. As reported earlier, boats are just barely controlable.
Have you put all the files from Optifine in your mods folder?
Being a real novice to MC, could you be more specific? Not sure where the "mods" folder is, nor what files you are refering to. I used Magic Launcher to install Optifine.
Edit: Finally figured it out, and used Magic Launcher to reinstall Optifine, and the texture is now correct.
I have the same problem, but have used Optifine to patch and the dirt blocks are still wrong in the HD textures (Ovo's Rustic v2.1.2, Inspiration_2, and Soartex Fanver 2.1.5). Any other suggestion? I really want to use Ovo texture.
