posted a message on Adventure in Minecraft: Almost no point

    Minecraft Adventure

Minecraft exploration and adventure has no purpose to me. I don't believe that Minecraft isn't fun, I love it in fact, but I would love to express my opinion.

Minecraft has a large hole in it's "adventure" claim. I can't find a reason to leave my home to find something such as a jungle or desert. Most of the time I'm stuck on an island. But when I am dropped on a large land mass, I don't think about traveling away to find anything besides a stronghold. Physical features aren't a huge reason to get up and look for. Here's my proposition.

    1. Minecraft needs certain, special ores and items that can only be found in certain biome. Increased coal ore generation in swamps or a silver ore found under deserts for example.

    2. More above ground, subterranean, and semi-buried structures that contain special items, NPCs, or blocks that give you the ability to craft sets of advanced tools and armor. A special iron sword or an armor set found in a stronghold or strange and crumbling desert fortress are a couple of examples.

    3. More content that is strictly set to certain biomes. Vines are not a good example.

    4. PLEASE(!!!!!!) add the dream world. The Aether is good but it isn't compatible with other mods.

    5. I don't know about you guys (and girls) but the addition of rarely spawned animals, like cats, is a good idea in my opinion. How about plants, too?

    6. NEW: Undersea ruins and plant life that borders certain biomes.

    7. NEW: In regard to the items, there could be themed set of items like a "Jungle sword" which is a different style of iron/gold/diamond sword that can be crafted with variant of crafting table crafted from jungle wood.

    8. NEW: (KyoShinda) More biome specific mobs like crocodiles and more structures like above ground ruins.

I have room to add to this list. Add any suggestions that you'd like to see be added to Vanilla Minecraft. If it gets bigger Jeb could see it. New coder means new possibilities.

My idea to themed tools and armor

My other idea that incorporates the ideas above is the themed item idea. Many modders have made mods that use the same idea. Cactuscraft and such.

Have you ever spawned in a desert, or for 1.2 users, a jungle? A desert is a relatively barren landscape without much to do. What if Minecraft had a themed tool set for certain biomes? A desert set that was crafted on a special crafting table. Or a jungle set that resembled the landscape or trees. The standard set can be crafted but to add diversity maybe Jeb could add exotic tool sets that would let people know where you live in a server? They could probably add some type of buff in damage or speed. The armor could add more cosmetic diversity but add various buffs or nerfs that affect things like "sneak" or "speed".

The basic point to this idea is to give the player variety in what tool they use. You could walk into a forest biome town wearing a desert biome armor set with a desert sword in your hand. It would simply add to the usefulness of biomes by adding unique items to that biome.

I agree with this all, but there is kind of 1 thing you forgot. With the 1.1 update villages have chests that contain either apples, iron swords and armor, diamonds, etc. Thats worth exploring. Good Post!

posted a message on The jungle biome is more interesting than any other biome
Its new thats why. And I'd hate to live in a jungle. :l. Too much growth and stuff, take too long to clear out. UNLESS..... TREE HOUSE!!! :biggrin.gif: not really, i dont like jungles :tongue.gif:

The only reason of why people see jungle superior to other biomes is because it is new.

It has unique trees, taiga has unique trees too.

Has unique mob, forest has unique mob ( wolves ).

    vines, swamp.

Every biome has a lot of uniqueness, after a month jungle will be the same as a forest for you.

Every biome is equal in content.

And no, im not saying it is boring, as every other biome the jungle has its own reasons to be explored, its own charm, as off now jungle is fresh and new, that is why you consider it better.

    However... Timber Mod FTW.

Im new to this, timber mod works on prereleases? :biggrin.gif:? doesnt it need to be updated?

posted a message on Prerelease bug
Sorry if this is the wrong section, tell me where to put it if it is, but i was testing the 12w04a prerelease and found a bug. When you feed wolfs raw food they enter the love stage (in the update) but what i found is that they could enter the love state repeatedly with no intervals, so you could basically constantly be making wolfs. have 2 breed, breed again, again, again, etc. That is the bug i found in 12w04a prerelease. Sorry if this is the wrong topic.
