There Is No Learning Curve v2.4

This puzzle/adventure map is a three player cooperative experience like no other. Decipher your way through more than 10 unique and stimulating chambers with more than 4 hours of gameplay. Manipulate water, iron and even time in order to progress under the supervision of your friendly host, Harold.

This puzzle is designed for three players - not one, not two, not four, but THREE players. You will need to rely on each other in order to progress through the puzzles. Some form of communication is highly recommended between the players, such as being in the same room or using Skype.

There are no mods required for this map; however, Command Blocks must be enabled - to do so, open server.properties and insert the following line at the bottom before booting the server:enable-command-block=true. This is our first Minecraft map and we welcome any suggestions/ideas you may have to improve it. If enough people show interest we will develop a themed sequel.

    Quote from CCasad»

So i updated to 1.8.4 and my spawn coordinates were (-71, 65, 176) so they are off from what they should be

It should be a flat world. And judging by the spawn coordinates given, I can see that another world is being generated instead of this map as your Y value is not 231.

Are you playing this on LAN or as a multiplayer server?

If LAN can I see a screenshot of your C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves folder please

If it is run on a server could I see a screenshot of the server folder.

These would help with diagnosing the issue!

    Thanks,

posted a message on E4R7H: Singleplayer/Multiplayer Cooperative Survival/Adventure Sci-Fi Map [Codename: CRAFTING - NOW AVAILABLE]
Thank you for the very flattering and insightful post!

As far as your comments - I'll try to address them as best as I can for the moment!

The tutorial is planning to be expanded along with the game, incorporating all of the new ideas we implement so it should hopefully become clearer in what to do. The idea is that LOUISE will inform you of anything still outstanding any time you attempt to power up the S.S. Retribution.

The spawn is an ongoing issue - we are trying to get to understand spawning logistics, but as far as the literature goes currently, the spawn area should be large enough to allow all players to spawn in it. We will look into this in the future as we progress with more alpha releases.

The villager system is one to be implemented in the future, the current plan is to allow players to make 'cleanse' villagers and put them to work around the ship and planet. An example of this would be having a villager operate the iron mine, speeding up iron production. In future updates broken areas will be added, including breaking two of the thrusters and the mine. The player will need to collect the resources required and then put a villager to work repairing the area for added bonuses. Please do bare in mind this is release 0.3 and as such is very early in the development period!

When we update the map, the easiest way to transfer the file would be to /give yourself the materials you had before - as unfortunately there isn't a simple way to map the files over each other. That said, the idea is that the game should be complete-able and give you a score that can be compared to all future versions for you to improve on!

We are very pleased you are enjoying the map though and love to hear comments that people have!

posted a message on Sending signal after certain amount of time
    Hi Turbin2,

There are methods of doing this that use much more space, such as chains of repeaters. For a 30 second delay you would need 75 repeators on max delay to achieve this.

I use a different version of the hopper clock myself for timers. This has no pistons so it is much quieter, I would use the clock on a 40 second loop but then have a delay of 10 seconds between the initial flush and the clearing of water using either another clock or repeators.

    Here is a screenshot!

NOTE: there is a stack of 50 items in the hopper to get the 40 second delay

    Hope this helps,

posted a message on How to play a sound everywhere?
    /playsound <sound> @a ~ ~ ~ 300

The minimum volume only effects an area and will still not be heard a few blocks away. The volume command is actually not to do with volume of sound, but distance it can be heard. So by ramping it up to 300, you have to be 1000s of chunks away not to hear it.

    Hope this helps!

Had a few minutes to think about it and have managed it using the scoreboard command!

    Pink: /scoreboard players set @a teleport 1 {SelectedItem:{tag:{display:{Name:"CUSTOM NAME HERE"}}}}
    Green: /tp @a[score_teleport_min=1] x y z
    Blue: /scoreboard players set @a teleport 0

    x y z are spawn co-ordinates

Custom name has to be added through command or renaming on an anvil

    /give @p ITEMNAME 1 0 {display:{Name:"CUSTOM NAME HERE"}}

Added hint: you might want /gamerule commandBlockOutput false
to stop the messages from popping up onscreen

This can be connected up to a redstone clock to be permanent and global!

    Hope this helps you!

Unfortunately sof2er it is only for 3 players as that is the type of game we specialise in.

When the map is completed we will attempt to create a matching process on our website for those playing alone or in pairs so that as many people as possible can play.
I hope this answers your question.
