posted a message on AtomicStryker's Infernal Mobs - Diablo Style Modifiers

Ya know, it might could be working just fine. I hadn't thought of that and only hit the forum here to read about this very subject because Im building a Pigman crusher. Given a bit of thought Ive realized that my main mob grinder, which kills by using fall damage, has never given me any armor or tool drops like those Ive gotten from killing Infernals. Will they not drop those items unless killed by a player or is it that they aren't spawning in there at all? Not looking for an answer, just wondering since you guys were talking about it.

I don't think this mod works in 1811 much like stalker creepers as well. I'm using 1797 with all updated mods from atomicstryker & they work completely fine. Then again I stopped switching forge till a stable forge is done cause of right now all my mods I use currently work fine with 1797. Maybe give that a try?

Yeah, working with 1802 here and we cant see any infernal mobs in SP or on the server.

posted a message on [Teleportation] Warp Book

Ha! So after some internet poking about I came to discover a work around. Start a Lan game with cheats on, switch the game to creative, grab my book and delete the ingredients(I don't like to cheat, games feel hollow when I start doing that), switch the gamemode back to survival and exit the world. Upon reloading in everything is as it was, except I've got a shiny new warp book. It'll do.

Actually, I kinda like that trick for starting a new character too. I like the idea of the bonus chest, but the contents are too random. I don't need two wooden axes thanks, but a bloody helmet or boots would be nice.

I wanted to play in a sandbox.

Exactly! If I wanted a realistic tough melee fighter, I own War of the Roses on steam! This game does not need more realistic combat, it needs fun combat. Yeah combat was unrefined the way it was before, but at least it worked for everybody equally. This new system seems to split the community very distinctly, making me think it wasn't the best choice from a developer's view and that's not even considering my own opinion on the content into that conclusion.

@Duo_decimal: I would recommend to put the textures into your primary resource pack, so as long as you pay attention to the file structure it should work if you put the textures into your resource pack instead of putting them into the jar file. I always do this procedure for having my own textures for Archimedes' Ships etc..

Huh, never tried that. It's just never occurred to me before, I've always just hacked away at the .jar file with Winrar.

So while doing some testing I've come to the conclusion that it's not anything I've done. I grabbed a fresh copy of the mod, everything has it's original texture. Except when trying to craft the book, it's still that black and pink cube when it's hot off the table. When it's from the creative inventory it's the purple pixelated book it ought to be.

Now I'm really at a loss.

Panicnot42, love the mod. I've been using teleporters off and on for a while, TF2 Teleporters, then Vanilla-Inspired Teleporters, recently I tried Lemon's Simple Teleporters, but this one fits Minecraft the best in my opinion. Not just cause it sets off my nostalgia for Ultima Online either.

I have a small issue, could use some help from anyone with experience. I went out into the interwebs and found textures for the 1.7.2 version of Warp Book on the BDcraft.net forums(link). When I opened up the Warp Book .jar I found the correct folder, noticed a couple pages I'd never heard of but ignored'em, and replaced the textures for the unbound/bound pages and the book. Fire up MC, throw some paper at an ender pearl, viola: pretty new textured unbound page. Same held true for a bound page, but when I got to the book it turned into a unhappy little black and pink cube. Cue me searching the creative inventory for it, only to discover that it looks great when you find and take it from there. Not really an option during normal play though.

    I am at a loss.

    Quote from Skullfire99»

Minecraft was too easy before 1.9. At least now we can die by mobs.

If that's what you want then make the mobs more powerful or plentiful, Infernal Mobs, Rougelike Dungeons, etc... I get that a lot of people wanted better combat, but that this is not. It's specifically worse combat to try and make the game better. I can't wait until either they fix it or mod makers pick up the slack, yet again.

    1. Attacking

The sword won't swing unless the pointer is directly on the target. They added a horizontal sword attack, which I really love(Seriously), and then kinda blew it by forcing you to be both in range and on target(as if aiming a bow or gun) for a sweeping melee attack. If not it does the old attack/dig animation and hits the grass/vines/random crap! around you instead of the thing, or more likely things, trying to kill you. Why?! The only thing I can think of is the ability to use it to break webs, but hell just give webs health in addition to high durability so its easier to break them with weapons.

I don't mind the cool down timer for attacking too much, but it is annoying to get used to and it feels like the power up mechanic added to the bow just reversed(lazy). I was much more hoping for more varied attacks(lunge, overhanded blow, etc), or maybe a 1-2-3 combo attack consisting of those examples what with the power of the blow ascending in the order of the combo hits.

The damage nerf, or mob health buff. Don't know, don't care. All I do know is that even when I'm not failing at adapting to this new system it's taking so much longer to fell one mob. I think someone else mentioned that they haven't been nerfed-in fact they've been improved, so mobs of zombies cannot be dealt with and even two skellies can be a death sentence(Their insane reload speed isn't helped by the circle strafing!).

    2.Defending

The shield. I like the idea, and at the same time it's vastly under-powered. I say under-powered because it's not a bloody sheild if you still get damaged near as much as you would without it! Make wood/iron/diamond tiers with better durability and just have the lower tiers fall apart faster-maybe even way faster. Follows the same progression of the tools, armor, and weapons in the rest of the game and makes bloody sense!

    3.Dual Wielding(The Off-hand)

Really, just disappointing. It's not duel wielding as most would've hoped for, it's an extra utility slot made for the shield. "You can place a torch with your sword out!" I can switch back and forth between my sword, my potions, and my torches plenty fast enough already thanks, gonna have to do better. Also, small nit-pick, if that's gonna be a big thing, the torches in the off-hand, why do they still not cast light from your hand? That almost might've made me crap my pants to discover, like how they improved boats(See, I don't hate the whole update).

Of course all of the previous is just my opinion, but as someone who usually can't get enough Minecraft(Like I will play it instead of new, purchased, downloaded, tessellated, bumped mapped, story-driven, epic multi-million dollar endeavors), well...

I've stopped playing Minecraft. I could go back to 1.8.9, we'll see what mod developers are going to do. Hell, maybe there will be a combat mod that everyone jumps on, but for now I'll go play some MGS5. It just sucks, they don't seem to understand what their fans want.

Hell, I mighta just been happy with a sweep attack and some stairs and slabs made outta those new stone that shoulda been introduced along side them when they came out.

posted a message on EnderTanks [Ecu Approved]

So, bloody awesome mod. I started messing with the Buildcraft alpha and I was getting sick of building whole new installations every time I found a new oil well. Something that I've noticed though, no matter how many times I upgrade the pump on either side of a two tank transfer(between an oil well and my refinery island) the tank on the receiving side can't output fast enough to keep up with the refinery. I've even gone and upped the piston upgrade to 8 and haven't noticed a difference. Am I just using them wrong?

[Edit: My dumbass didn't attach a wooden waterproof extraction pipe to get the tank's contents out at a reasonable rate, now everything is humming away nicely]

Almost forgot, is there an easy way to add a option for the tank to keep it's chunk loaded? Maybe a true/false in the config for people who don't want the chunks with tanks in them to be loaded all the time. I've started leaving a non-powered quarry around my oil wells if they're attached to a tank so I can keep them outputting to the refinery when I'm not around them.

I just want to say I love, love this mod!

But I found a coupla bugs:

After coming back from The End, the teleporter wigs out and teleports the person back and forth rapidly.

Also shift-clicking a stack of items puts it into the key slot, but drops the number of items off. So the players looses everything in the item stack except the last item.

Needless to say, I only found these bugs because I use the mod a lot. It's so great~!

Also: Tinted Teleporters made from different colored glass might be cool, too.

    Ditto.

    Hey,

i don't know if people remember but I was trying to get someone to help me make a "post-apocalypse" mod using ruins, where random structures of decaying buildings and skyscrapers, roads, broken down cars etc... spawn through the world so it feels like the Minecraft world is a post-apocalype world.

I still don't have any clue on how to make this, I wouldn't mind making the structures somehow, but I have no clue what program to use and/or how to program it to make a mod :( If someone could help that would be awesome!

This has been my plan for a while, and with ruins it's totally possible to have your landscape dotted with bombed structures and dangerous huts of doom. My next hurdle is the terrain. I've toyed around with a generated world with custom settings, but for my world I'm looking for no grass, no water, no trees and having an infinite desert doesn't fit the bill. I'd use ATG or a wasteland mod to customize the world gen, but alas they are not updated to 1.8 yet.

    Edit:

Just found the Worldmaker map generator. I haven't tried it yet, but the primordial desert preset plus a crap ton of ruins could be what I'm looking for. Maybe it could help you too.

Otherwise for me, it's been mostly a combination of experimentation, playing with example templates provided with the Ruins ZIP file, hunting around Google for keywords such as "Minecraft command blocks" to look for interesting examples, and so forth.

Heh, I'm on the right track then. Good to know, and thanks for the websites.

Is it just me or do the guys over on the command blocks forum have a hate for mods? Seems like everyone over there is all about making command block mods in vanilla. I mean, it could be that nobody there feels like they can or wants to help me, but if I mention that I'm trying to use command blocks with a mod I get no responses. Have you guys just learned to control them through experimentation or have you found any tutorials? This is helpful, but not enough to go on to make complete commands that do what I want.

Now I noticed some of the structures pull from dungeonchest loot table but some of them do not. I cannot find the loot table they pull from in this case. Can you give me an idea how loot is decided in this mod? This way I can customize the loot better. Thank you in advance!

Actually this is something that I was going to get around to asking as well. I've just been sticking place holder chests in my structures and not really thinking about the loot that I see when I open them so I hadn't quite gotten as far as you though.

posted a message on Random /setblock?

I'm building a graveyard and putting some little covered mausoleums in them with places for mob spawners or chests to go. I'm wondering, can I just place a command block in each spot and have it randomly decide if it's going to be one or the other upon creation? I should also mention that I plan on using the Ruins mod to generate these graveyards randomly in the world, command blocks saved and code intact upon being re-created in the world.

Also, while I'm posting about command blocks, how do I get one to run a command all on it's own? I mean, it's the /execute command followed by... hhuuaahh? Right? I feel dumb, but even with the handy explanation sheet I'm still struggling and if I'm having the Ruins mod make them I kinda need the commands to run automagically.

Any help is appreciated, you fantastic block commanders.
