I'm planning on renting a private server to run modded Minecraft (forge version) for me an up to 8 friends from Bisect hosting (they seem like a solid choice)
my question here is: What do I do once I have it rented?I'm new to all this
1. how do I find the IP to connect,
2. How do I upload mods to it,
3. will sp forge mods work in smp
4. can someone running minecraft on mac run mods and join a server running mods with pc
5. how would I setup a password and user list
6. where can I find a list of admin commands that I can perform, will I even have admin access?
as the title says, the game crashes on 1.7.10 at "building terrain" when trying to create a new map,
I've already tried running the launcher in compatibility mode for windows 7 and in administrator mode, 1.9 works for me but I'm trying to get 1.7.10 working as that has the best mod compatability (and no, I have not installed any mods yet)
java version is : version 8 update 77
windows 10
intel i5-3570k 3.4 GHz
nvidia 980 ti (updated drivers to latest version yesterday)

keep up the good work man, looks promising, I will be keeping an eye on this
to people complaining about cheating:
if you don't like it, don't use it
it's up to server admins to deal with this stuff in multiplayer games, complain about this THERE if you want to stop cheating
people can play thier SINGLE PLAYER games however they want
quit harrasing the guy about it, you're not helping anyone
ok, I just traveled a huge distance and found newly generated ruber trees to be made of the right stuff, only current rubbertrees have been defiled by your black magic
I guess the trees in the save are still pointing to the old IDs
woo finally got all the block id's resolved between this and ic2 and like 2 other mods, so I cant wait to see what this can do,
in a related question though, to save my self time later, is there a program that can scan minecraft and give you a list of all used block id's as well as tell you what is out of bounds and highlight conflicts
p.s. ok not quite so fixed, can someone explaine to me why all the IC2 rubber trees just turned into giant piles of TC cauldrons (though it is kinda funny)
desired IGN : Dukoth age: 28 I have voted for two of the servers and trying to vote for the other two, but it says I have to wait a day other thoughts: can't wait to try multi playing in mine craft
p.s. what is the stance on mods, specificly texture and shader mods, sry if this has been asked but I'm short for time at the moment, and there are over 1000 pages
I don't care about bugs unless the game is unplayable, from what I've been hearing that isn't the case, it will continue to get support even after release, so quite bitching
I fully support the right of a designer to have full control over what he is creating, so notch can put what ever he wants in there
what you paid for you are getting: a finished product, but notch gets to decide what that is, NOT YOU, it NEVER WAS YOU, and it NEVER WILL BE YOU; if you don't like that, then mabey you should've waited for the product to be finished before you pay for it, YOU ONLY HAVE YOUR SELF TO BLAME
arn't you afraid though that all this is miss-representing us as a comunity? all the whiners, doom-sayers, flamers, and trollers (ON BOTH SIDES) makes it seem like there is no apreciation for the game, and reflects poorly on the rest of us who are happy with what we are getting
and it's not just this game eighther, the general state of the game community is a sad state of affairs
because of this patches arn't saposed to pull it all together the first time, the release patch will do that, quit expecting a stable and complete expierience untill then
the game doesn't need to be in a finished state until it's released
YOU DIDN'T BUY A FINISHED PRODUCT, SO QUIT BITCHING AS IF IT WAS SAPOSED TO BE
I swear, all people want to use the internet for these days is ***** and moan
mine craft is what ever notch wants it to be, not you
on a side note I'm excited for every thing in the update, the only thing that gives me pause is the endermen being able to move blocks, I just dont want them dissasembleing my creations on me as that sounds like a colossal pain in the ass
so many people that don't deserve to play this game, bunch of spoiled ungratful brats
just cause YOU think it's a good idea doesn't mean notch does
just cause it's a popular mod doesn't mean notch likes it
notch and ONLY NOTCH has final say in what goes into this game, oh wait, HIS GAME
if you're so smart, you make a game
you have no idea of what is requiered to make this game or what goes on behind the scenes, so you have NO RIGHT to coment on it
mods are hobbies, the dynamic of game development changes when you are requiered to do it
terreria is a simple game to develope, it's probably effortless to make items for it, and just because they listen to their community doesn't mean notch has to
listening to your community does not mean implementing every idea they have, or even any of them, a good designer has his own ideas of how his game should be. so did it ever occur to any you that your ideas don't fit in with HIS vision of HIS game
just because you're a fan doesn't entitle you to anything
