Good. I hope people will actually buy Minecraft and give Mojang the money they deserve. When you think about it saving up $27 isn't all that hard to do.

Really. Not to look bummish, but you could probably find $27 in the parking lot of a mall within a few minutes. Here anyways. How I pay for internet. :steve_blushing:

posted a message on How to make Survival more hard?
For me, Minecraft isn't about fighting dragons and muh level 50 and it being "challenging" anymore.

It's just a place for me to be creative now. Especially once I started installing mods. Like without Industrial Craft, I would probably quit the game before going back to smelting in the furnace. It just makes things more complex. And I like that. It's a new form of creativity while still being in Survival. I probably couldn't survive without Nether Ores as well. Though you may think that's cheesy since Nether Diamond is x2 though along with IC, it's not just slapping ores and everything in the furnace. You have to crush, extract, compress, etc. While at the same time powering all of these machines with engines and generators.

I just like complex things like that. Why not quarry a volcano and rebuild the lost city of Pompeii? Make the city functional to your means and move on to other projects. Construct oil rigs in the ocean, link your projects together with a rail system using RailCraft and RedPower. Build factories for generating and storing energy. Install Thaumcraft and get into magic. Install Twilight Forrest to have another dimension to explore.

Vanilla MC is fun up until you actually learn the game. The it just sort of stalls. That's why MinecraftForum was invented amiright?

posted a message on A hilarious (And sad) multiplayer mining story (Not your average plot!)
What's so special about mining diamonds anyways? Every server just hands them out now for voting and gives out everything else to make the game not challenging at all. But you said this was in 1.2.5 and I don't remember servers having those shams then. I remember once back then I applied to be a builder for some few month old server. I built them a few shops and buildings and finished off the castle walls (their previous builder quit) and spend a good 3-4 days sprucing things up. Anyways the owner came online who I have never seen yet and he asked how was I flying. I told him his Admin gave me a building job to finish the spawn because the other guy quit. He said thank you and banned me. Reasoning: He didn't know how to switch me back to Survival.

I find Minecraft to be easier to grasp for younger kids than older people. Like I didn't even show my 12 year old sister any thing except left-click breaks things and right-click places things. A few weeks later I saw her again and he had a farm and house and everything.

Then my girlfriend and brother who are much older. Nonstop questions and bugging me to death.

I just tell them to use YouTube.

posted a message on Dumbest Server Ever?
This server I joined awhile ago was real nice. The spawn was elegant and not too overly crowded. Plenty of space to build. It was real clean and people were actively chatting with each other. But there was a few Mods who really ruined the server when no Admins were online. They would PvP in creative mode, steal from player's locked chests, blow up houses with TNT, block people's mines with bedrock, and whatever they could come up with in their 12 year old minds. People always reported them but nothing ever happened. It just got old and I quit.

I also joined a new-ish server over a year ago and helped the Owner get the spawn built and all and setup some shops and all. Never did he say thanks and actually banned me once it was all done and blocked me on Skype. It wasn't like I was asking for money or anything. He just randomly banned me.

The other thing which is pretty normal these days are new servers giving out OP status to any member just to get members to join. That's the wrong way to advertise and those servers won't last even a month. Also the "vote for diamonds" servers are pretty messed up. You basically are forced to vote just to keep up with all the prizes other players get. Pretty shameful way of getting players as well.

posted a message on Looking for Admin/Builder experience.
I'm starting my own server on my home PC and to be honest, I'm not the most "creative" builder and I'm just getting into plugins (I have successfully set up Essentials and bPermissions, it's just a matter of remembering YAML formatting now)...

It's run on an Intel i5-3570K with 23Mbps down, 3Mbps up.

I just want a mature player to go through the building stage with me. Then eventually we could either go public with hosting it on my PC or find a paid hoster. I'm looking for a great builder but also somebody who's familiar with WorldEdit, WorldGaurd, Towny, Factions, etc..

    Name:
    IGN:
    Age: (18+)
    Language: (English required)
    Experience:
Contact: Prefer email but Skype is fine

Sorry for the bad formatting, its 6AM and I have been up all night playing video games and on my fourth Monster..

posted a message on How do you get "Admin" experience?
    Quote from Melodytune

Yes. I'm not super techy but I think you need both? I believe they do different things altogether. But I'm mostly pulling this info out of thin air. I know we run both. Essentials gives a lot of permissions but Pex seems to control who you give the permissions to??? Like Pex lets you make different groups, like an admin group and a member group and give them both a different set of Essential perms. Something like that.

    Ahh I gotcha

I thought Essentials was like Permissions, groups, anti cheat, etc everything all in one.. I should read them before installing. Youre pretty much right. Essentials is basically a buttload of extra commands and PEX allows you to create groups and determine who can use which commands and which commands they cant use.. something like that..

posted a message on Should this be realy added?
Well copper is used for wiring. Could be an addition to redstone mechanisms.

I'd like to see the use of wheels, motors, etc.
