posted a message on Storage Blocks for Monster Drops
In recent updates, Mojang has been adding a lot more storage blocks into Minecraft. At first it was just diamond, iron, and gold- now they've added coal, redstone, and emerald, topping off the mineral storage block spectrum. So the most logical next step is to add storage blocks for mob drops. Right?

Now, don't get me wrong by my usage of the term "Storage block"- every item added into Minecraft has to have some kind of purpose other than just storing your items more conveniently. Gold, diamond and emerald are used for decoration (Which is better than nothing, I guess...), iron for crafting golems and anvils, redstone for circuitry, and coal for incredibly compact smeltery fuel.

    Gunpowder Blocks

There's been a fairly popular topic going in and out of the front page for the past month or so that I really support, and I think it's better to give credit where credit is due than try to rip him off, since I doubt I can think of a better idea myself. Basically, it's a gunpowder block that explodes near-instantly, but can only be triggered by other explosions, not redstone or flint & steel. It would be crafted in a 3x3, naturally, to offset the cost of not needing sand for TNT.

    http://www.minecraft...er-explosions‏/

    Rotten Flesh Block

This block would also be crafted in a 3x3, especially since it's the item you're likely to have the most of (And is, currently, the most useless) out of all the mob drops. It would give a weak poison effect to any mob that stands on it (Which would heal undead, the more intended effect) and the player would also sink down 1/16th-1/8th of a block (The same as soulsand, but it wouldn't slow you down, that's a soulsand-only feature IMO), since a squishy pile of rotting flesh isn't likely to hold one's weight very well. :3

(Also, yes, I checked and there is a thread out there suggesting rotten flesh blocks. His ideas for it's implementation are however vastly different from my own, so I don't suppose there are any redundancy issues.)

    Bone Block

The most natural implementation of a bone block I can think of would be as a decoration block, similar to sandstone but distinctive enough to warrant it's existence. It would be crafted in a 2x2, since it's a decoration block, after all. You don't see Mojang forcing people to make quartz blocks out of 9 quartz, do you? Anyways, it would have a "Default" texture which looks like a pile of jumbled bones, a "Smooth" texture (Crafting method arguable, I'd be for a 2x2 crafting of any bone blocks, similar to what is done with sandstone) which looks more smooth... I'm no texture artist, so I can't really show you what I mean. And there would also be a "Chiseled" variant, which would look like a catacomb wall, with skulls sitting on shelves of bone. Bone.

    String Blocks

String blocks? It's called wool! Ha!

    Ender Pearl

There would also be an ender pearl block. This would be a deep-blue stone-type block, with some cool particle effects, and maybe an animated texture. I'd rather not suggest anything too game-breaking for this block, but let's just say it's got a lot of potential. Maybe some kind of limited teleportation? Being able to link them somehow, and teleport back and forth ~400 blocks? It's certainly not the mainstay of my suggestion, just one of the many possibilities. It would also be possible for these to be used for beacon bases, as an ender pearl is a pearl, after all, and pearls are kind of like gems. And diamonds and emeralds can be used for beacons, so why not pearls?

    Feather Blocks

Not a monster, sure... but it needs to go in the thread regardless. Since chickens are the only easily mass-farmable animal, they're the only ones that really need to be added. No sane person has a double-chest full of leather or ink sacs. Feather blocks would be affected by gravity similar in manner to sand and gravel, but would fall at a slower speed. You would sink down into them like with soul sand or the rotten flesh block, and they would also negate fall damage.

I might also add ideas for other mob drops, but I'd like to see how the topic fares as-is before I suggest being able to craft buckets of ghast tears and bundles of blaze rods. :P

Whether it's an honest incapacity or pure laziness at work, I'm a terrible artist and also not the best at portraying my ideas. So take what you get, and if you don't like it, help, don't complain! I know better than anyone I could use it. And also, thank you for reading all the way to the end! You must have a headache by now. :3

O hai, my name's on that list too! :3

So, let me get this strait... you want to make a mob with ~12x the health of an ender dragon, is a guaranteed 1-2-hit-kill no matter what armor you're wearing, has a fire attack, all of the negative splash potions in the game (Plus one that isn't in the game), and summons over a dozen guards strong enough to be bosses in their own right several times a minute, all for a sword that's so most players skip over it's tier entirely? This is either the worst idea I've ever read, or so brilliant I can't even comprehend it's beauty. Most likely the former.

posted a message on links to wiki and mcforums in options
I don't really think it's completely necessary to link to the forums. They might be cool, but they're hardly a necessary part of the game. xD

The wiki on the other hand, yes yes YES! Though I've memorized just about everything to do with Minecraft by this point, it would be beyond helpful to new players just learning the ropes. And if it's that much of an issue that MCWiki is third-party, they could always just make their own wiki, or take ownership of the current one.

    Erm... half support.

Though I like the idea of water lilies and cattails, I don't really think the game needs 5 different colors of the same flower. Maybe just a pink tulip? I haven't checked to see what all's in the new snapshot, but a pretty pink flower sounds like a fair bet. :3

posted a message on New village type (fishing) along with more trade options
    Quote from pfgforumcraft

Fishers do show off their catch though
Yes, but having the rods/fish just sitting there for you to take is a bit unbalanced. I like the idea of having to trade for a rod, or maybe just pay for the enchantment like you do with priest villagers. Though having a chest with some fish and other fishing loot in it is okay, since fish aren't exactly hard to come by.

Support. Maybe have it so that these villages spawn on beach/river biomes?

    Support.

I don't know how many times I've juggled things around trying to fit every building material I need into my hotbar, along with food, tools, etc. And since middle-click isn't really used in survival, I don't see what it could hurt. I'm surprised this hasn't been added already.

posted a message on Colored Quartz Blocks---New Bright colors
I like this idea, I think Minecraft could always use more blocks. There's no reason it shouldn't be added.

Though, I don't particularly like either of the example pictures... how about actually making the different colors distinctive, rather than just coloring the base block like with hardened clay or wool? Since Quartz is obviously meant to be a marble equivalent, how about making the black quartz have white streaks, and similar things for the other colors? We could use more blocks, but what we don't need are all the blocks in the game mindlessly colored for the sake of having more block types. Quartz is meant to be a marble equivalent, and it's currently failing at that role a bit as far as I've seen. Making it a brighter version of hardened clay is not going to help.

posted a message on Minecraft PG Mode (Now Hot!)
    Partial Support.

This doesn't need to be added as an actual part of the game, though I would like to see a client-side mod (Such as Optifine, Zan's Minimap, etc.) created for this.

Also, the no-swearing (Or "Keep swearing to a minimum") rules aren't there just for the children. It's there to keep the chat from degenerating into senseless swearing.

posted a message on More lively churches
I like the idea of slightly more intricate churches, but I don't like the example pictures you've provided. Churches aren't supposed to be twice as large as every other building in the village. That, and though spruce wood looks nice, it's out of place in the dominantly-oak villages.

Maybe just expanding the current churches by one block in each direction, adding oak wood pews for stairs, etc. Maybe adding some enchanted books and potions in a loot chest in the tower?

Also, the Church is the residence of the Priest villager, so it wouldn't make sense for him to not reside there. And, as everyone else in this thread has said repeated times, it would be highly advised to avoid adding any crosses to the Church.

As it stands, no support, though I might change my mind if your suggestion improves a bit.

I like the idea quite a bit, though I'm not a fan of the cobblestone in the lakes and lava lakes. It just seems a bit unnecessary, I don't see what's wrong with smooth stone. Also, coal blocks are flammable, I thought. Do you have fire tick enabled on the world you took those pictures on?

Maybe just a little bit of moss stone for the ridge lakes, instead of replacing ALL the dirt and stone with cobble? Also, I'd like to see someone make a mod for this- purposefully created structures look quite a bit different than procedurally generated ones.

Also, maybe have ores spawn in dirt caves just like they would in normal caves? It wouldn't look too out of place, I don't think.

posted a message on Should glass panes shatter when hit by an arrow?
Support. Obviously, if a server is no-griefing they're going to change the gamerule you suggested adding, like they would with doFireTick or mobGriefing. And I'm sure that Factions, GriefPrevention or whatever other plugins there are would add functions to prevent it's use as a griefing tool too.

And if you're playing on one of those raiding servers, then other players would be able to just break the glass with their hand anyways. I honestly don't see people wasting their bow's durability on something they could just nerdpole up to and break with their fists.

This is stupid you took the idea from DanTDMs Modpack 100% NO SUPPORT
And BiblioCraft. And Equivalent Exchange 3. Also, they didn't steal the idea from your friend's modpack (Not that they "Stole" it at all), they got it from the mod itself. The modpack compiler did nothing more than compile, leave the credit the modder himself. :3

Now that that's over with, I don't really see a point in this, since we have item frames... No support.

posted a message on Redstone under half slabs. Make your hidden redstone doors easier!
    Quote from erik4556

Read a bit closer in the OP. this would be using the same mechanics as double slabs
You know how double slabs work, right? Each "Double slab" block is really it's own block, not two slabs occupying the same space. This is why you can't have two slabs of different materials in the same blockspace.

In order to have redstone underneath slabs, there would need to be a whole new set blocks, ie., "Quartz slab w/redstone", "stone slab w/ repeater", "Oak slab w/comparator", etc. 30-50 new block IDs.

Nonetheless, I think this would be nice. Maybe even redstone things sitting above the slabs aswell? Or finally adding the ability to put two different slabs together in one block space?

Skype (required): Haven't used it in ages and isn't downloaded on my current computer, but I assume I can use my old account. Can't even remember the name, will PM if I'm accepted. More used to TeamSpeak.

    Age (be honest): 16

What Country are you from? (Timezone is be useful): 'Merica, EST.

How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Erm... 2-3, maybe even four years? I got in around the cat update on a friend's account, then started on XBox, my current account is less than a year old.

How long do you spend playing Minecraft each day/week: I'm embarrassed to say. Probably around 5-8, maybe 12 some days? Let's just say I'll be a regular. Though, with school starting in a week that might change.

Do you have experience in building? (lying equals de-op) I'm pretty good, though I've been playing more on FTB lately and those skills may not translate well into vanilla. I have experience, for sure, but whether I'm good at it or not is a matter of opinion. If you decide I'm not, feel free to de-op me and I'll just wait in line to get on with everyone else. xD

Why should we choose you before someone else?: I'm active, somewhat good at building and generally friendly. I've worked as an admin/mod before and am usually more by-the-book and professional than the owners. I don't grief... though I believe there's nothing wrong with a little harmless pranking, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone and op powers aren't abused in the process. I'm a journeyman redstoner and know a few tricks that might help out with building a bit.
