For people wondering how to actually make a server I can offer a bit of advice. I currently run 4 different parkour/adventure servers and have learned a lot along the way.

For my style of server the most important thing is being fair in your build and how you treat the people who come to your servers. Myself and my build team always make sure to playtest our builds to make sure everything is possible as well as fun and will not open a new area until it's ready. It's also important to help new players if they need it, at least a little just to point them in the right direction or to teach them how to overcome a certain obstacle.

It's my opinion that your attitude is also key. If you are rude, bossy or ignore your guests they will leave. Speaking of guests, that's a good way to view players on your servers, as guests who've taken their time and energy to play your world when they literally have hundreds of others choices of not only other games and activities but other MC servers. Treat your build team, staff and guests well and not only will they keep coming back but they'll bring their friends with them.

I really don't think Autoteq is a griefer in any way. I also run a couple of servers here and am head of The Rage Craft Room build team. Autoteq has spent many hours on my servers helping us, mostly with redstone machines, and I've literally never had a problem with him.

I do get the suspicion about people on your friends list but let's be real here. When you run a popular MC server you are going to get tons and tons of random people friending you and joining your server with you having little to no idea who these people are and what kind of stuff they have been up to on other peoples servers. I have hundreds of friends on my friends list and I have no doubt several of them are probably griefers. Assuming I know that about them simply because they are on my friends list is a bit of a stretch.

It's tough to trust anyone when you run a server. Lot's of people out there either want to destroy your **** or will do it the moment you **** them off.

Sounds like you made assumptions and kicked a player who actually did nothing wrong. He was kicked for having the wrong friends. Is that specifically outlined in your rules? Do you have a wall of shame of griefers or other players that are not allowed to be associated with other players on your server?

Put boats back the way they used to be. They used to be amazing and a lot of fun to use. I used to be able to navigate rivers, swamps and small waterways fairly easily and really enjoyed making use of the terrain for that purpose. Since the changes the boats steer horribly and have become mostly useless for anything besides exploring large oceans and that's really a shame.

Also, allow us to make individual save slots so that we can save the current status of the game and load it when we want and not be stuck with the autosave. For those of us who run servers that need things like stocked chests, set traps and mob dispensers we really could make a lot of use from a saved state. That would also give us an added layer of protection against griefers as we could simply reload from the last save when that happens if the griefing is particularly bad.

Allow moderators to set other players spawn points.

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to invite you to experience a creation that places the player in a large, dangerous and exciting area full of traps, monsters and treasure. The main level is a complex group of mazes, platforming levels, tunnels and a myriad of other level designs. As the player you are free to explore this large and growing adventure and simply explore, collect, PVP or help others. How you play is entirely up to you.

We've focused on making the game challenging but fair. We also are flexible and can adjust difficulty for players, especially groups who want to play a certain way like hardcore where you'd actually lose your gear when you die but be able to loot players you've killed.

For those who enjoy the game and wish to contribute ideas and time to building and moderating we are happy to have you and have grown our team of builders from 2 to 5 already.

If you have any problems, ideas or issues to report feel free to contact a mod or myself. My Xbox Live name is DreamerMMA. I am also the host and one of the creators.

Feel free to message or friend me on Xbox Live and I'll let you join.

    Have fun.
