I would skirt around, dig a little bit to get to the door, and end his sorry little life right then and there. As for the steps of minecraft
1. Punch wood
2. Make crafting table
3. Make wood pick
4. Gather 13 cobblestone [Any coal if found]
5. Make furnace
6. Stone sword
7. Kill innocent animals
8. Cook the innocent animals
9. Pack up, and mine.

I have seen the Sandy Cathedral before, but it was in stone. I have even built one myself wanting to get a feel of Gothic Cathedral Architecture. But nontheless, its still cool and you converted the blocks well!

Mansions have two floors, so go for two floors, maybe have certain parts elevated, and go for a higher peaked roof. So biud that long thinner front rectangle up 2x as tall, and build a high peaked roof. Then for the Wider part [By the red] Go for a more shallow roof and wrap it around the different extrusions.A high peaked roof, depending on how WIDE it is you may want to use fewer 2x tall ones. But it all looks good anyways

I do like what I am seeing. I specialize in patterns, and overall mideval building as it is one of my inspirations. I rarely limit myself to 1 block, and am always incorperating more detail into my builds by adding unique blocks and always trying to maintain good look with depth and contrast, leaves are a fav of mine, and I also use furnaces, etc..
I own my own Graphic Design buisness, but rendering is a bit different from what I do, so I would have to look into that. I am quite patient when building for others. And I will be able to pull up some screen shots of some pattern examples I do on builds later [Once the server I was playing on isn't crashed...] PM me on MC Forums or respond to this if you want to look into my help a bit more.

I would love to be able to cooperate with a few people in a build... as my friends usually just go "He is a good builder, he can do it" and then screw around... so, I personally love the idea of a team aspect of building.

I am a builder [I consider myself quite good] and I am looking for ideas to build things. I would post screen shots I had been preparing, but my laptop lost all its data last week, rendering the time I invested... useless. Except learning a few new tricks as always that is. Anyways, I will start of in SP, I feel less rushed that way. Please tell me what you would like to see built. [And please... do be reasonable, I am a human. I dont have infinite time xD]
So, lets start off small!

When I first joined minecraft, I didn't really know what to expect. I had always heard my friends talking about it, but they never really dwelled on the graphics (Not a whole lot to talk about there anyways) I had heard them talking about string, and caves, and silverfish and what not. But I always pictured it as more of a 2d terraria like side scroller, so nontheless I was surprised when get it: "The graphics were better than I had expected." Yup, but thats not my story here. xD So I was exploring, I vaguely knew about tools and the like so I had an axe, and a pickaxe [Wooden]. I had stumbled upon a village so I had some food stuffs. And I kept wandering on. I then climbed up to the top of an extreme hills biome mountain to get a better view point... didn't help much because I had changed my render [32x OS at the time, I have upgraded since...] I saw it was night time so I began to build... the 3x3. Yup. The N00b Shack. Oh the shame... Anyways, I had the little hole in the celing so I could keep an eye on the time, and when it was day, I took it down and moved on. I then came across a desert, [by now it was almost night again, before this was just a huge forest] And I started to dig [With the sexy cobblestone shovel I had made] A bunch of sand, and make a 5x5 wall around me, built into a mountain. But I made sure to build 2 up on the mountain too. After that I pillered up and and looked around. Wait... what is that black thing? My friends never talked about that... to tall to be a spider? *POP*
