Hm, that's interesting. Jens said that he wanted a different skin for 'non-aggressive' wolves. Also, a recent tweet confirms my suspicion. You will definitly be able to tame wolves.
On the other hand, he said a pack of wolves battled a creeper. Perhaps wolves (or wolf packs) will also be the first mobs to fight other types of mobs without player instigation. Dunno if they spawned in a group at that point or if they have pack AI-- would be nice, probably doable.
"It's usually neutral". Maybe only aggressive at night? I sort of hope it's not like the pigmen, though.

Mar 15, 2011That's definitely a hardware problem, I think... I take it there's no error or otherwise, just a straight shutoff and no crash logs of any sort? It's very hard to determine anything past what info you have here.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology

- Nvidia 450GTS (replaced after the first card, a 8800 died and the second one, a 9800, actually ignited)
- Intel Core 2 Quad
- 4GB RAM
- 2 320GB HDs
- A wheel of fortune that randomizes the time between startup and crash, with a massive bias on short amounts of time
- Nitroglycerin cooling system that causes random hardware to catch fire every so often
It worked until recently! D=
Mar 15, 2011Games, level editors, and other taxing applications seem to run fine on my computer's current W7 64bit install... at least, the first game/3d application I play does. After that, if I switch to another one (even within minutes), nothing else runs well until I restart the computer. Once I do that, stuff runs fine until I need to switch applications again. In addition, it appears that applications' speed decreases over time. I've checked heat, and it's still the usual temperatures. (40c GPU, 55c CPU) Virus scans (with multiple AVs) turn up nothing.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
For instance, running UT3 on full graphics runs at around 30 FPS, then I try Garry's mod after closing it and it gets slideshow-like unplayable FPS. Restart, Garry's mod suddenly works, but switching to Hammer (G-Mod's accompanying level editor) afterward needs another restart, etc. Previously Minecraft and Gmod could run fairly well at the same time, now whichever one starts first runs well (for a while, anyway), and the other will lag horribly.
I've got the latest drivers and such for my graphics card, although I don't think it's a graphics-related problem... RAM, maybe? This problem has begun occurring ever since the 450GTS was installed in place of a 9800GTX, which had burnt out. I should hope there's a solution, although it's high time I get something in place of this nearly three-year-old computer anyway...
Mar 10, 2011Got my computer back up and running today, I have a week-long break after tomorrow in which I'll finally be able to do the voices. I'll also see if I can do the eggs/fish, attached in a separate version of the pack for maximum compatibility!Posted in: Resource Packs
Also, yes, the player does indeed need a skin. I shall get on with that.
Mar 1, 2011It seems Valve is quite appreciated. + support. I love those guys.Posted in: Discussion
From my personal experience...
If they owned MC, it'd take 10,000 (Valve) years to release it, but it'd be distributed easily online for a ridiculously low price during epic sales and it be completely worth the wait. Craft-Life, anyone?
Also, to all ye Valve fans who use the SDK, its update cycle is finally being merged with reality's timeframe! Could this mean the convergence of real and Valve time, causing the end of the universe as we know it?!

My microphone-enabled computer decided to burn itself out this weekend, I'm getting it back from repairs (hopefully) in a few days. I shall make an additional attempt at voice acting when I receive it again.
EDIT: Also, fish and eggs with suits are a no-go for now. That'd require adding in items.png, and it's ruin the compatibility of the pack with other textures and future updates since the mobs are handled as separate folders and files rather than one image. If a bunch of people want it I could include such a thing optionally...
Feb 27, 2011This might be good if it's real. Just think, all the whiny 12-year-olds will divert to Xbox instead, "bcuz its hav b3ter [email protected]". From what I know of programming and hardware capability, the Xbox cannot handle the essence of what Minecraft does because it doesn't have enough RAM to do so much dynamic operation.Posted in: Survival Mode
Feb 26, 2011First off, put this in the survival servers section.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
And secondly, all the one-posters saying LOL DIS BE GR8 SRVR? Really? This looks shady.
Quote from killerkid745 »wow thats really sad, the first few posts are users that were obviously created by the OP. also "free to play on?" since when did people PAY to play on a minecraft MP server? if theres a server like that im betting it isnt that sucessful
There are a few, I assume they aren't too successful...
Feb 24, 2011Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from Orcworm »C'mon Juze, I've already lost hope for the future generations by looking at this forum for the past few months, there's nothing we can do anymore.
We're doomed, I agree. Unfortunately this generation is, in fact, my own... I must find a better forum. However, Juze, I do appreciate your hard work. This is not something one person can do.
Feb 23, 2011Try to login to Minecraft.net (the site itself). If you can, then it's simply the launcher. If not (especially if it takes a really long time), then it's the servers acting up-- they've been weird lately.Posted in: Survival Mode
