Many people complain about how "creepers and things are not strong enough" or "creepers are too strong, they keep blowing up my stuff". Well, instead of only having the standardized peaceful, easy, normal, and hard modes which everyone is forced to use, why not add a custom difficulty that you can define when starting a world? You could give it a name, define the range of damages and healths that each mob can have, what armor each mob can wear, the normal explosion radius of creepers, etc. Not only would this be useful in survival, it would be immensely useful to mapmakers too! Instead of having to make complex summon commands or custom spawners, a mapmaker could just lock his/her world on a custom difficulty and use a dark spot for spawning mobs. There is already custom world generation, why not add this too
Edit: Just added a poll, should have thought to do that earlier.
Edit #2: Thank you to Blootz for the suggestion, I have included an example of what the interface could look like below. Sorry if its kinda bad, I don't have access to Photoshop.
If you are wondering, I added rabbits to the picture along with hostile mobs because there is a variation of rabbit that will attack players. The advanced options could have something like the explosion radius for creepers, aggro range, damage, armor to be worn, etc. For the next pages, they could be for editing passive mobs maybe, so people could make it harder or easier to get food.

bananamn posted a message on REAL Final BossHey, Have You ever thought "Hey, Which one do I kill first, Wither or Ender Dragon?" Well, I know the Achivements says Ender Dragon First, but I have an Idea.Posted in: Suggestions
They could add a FINAL Boss, Known As the Ender Lord!
He is A Giganic, Four Legged Monster That's Related To The Ender Dragon. Though it doesn't have wings...
STATS:
HP: 450
Design:
Main Color: Dark Purple
Number of Legs: 4
Eye Color: Purple
Shape: That of A Giant Lizard (I don't have a good Modeling program so I can't post a Picture )
ize: 10 Blocks tall 15 Blocks Long (Yes, Gigantic)
Elemental Weaknesses:
Fire: Able to get hurt by fire
Water: WEAKNESS (Gets Hurt as a Enderman Would)
Only 2 Hearts Every Second. But he can Teleport out.
Poison: Able to be hurt by poison
Attacks:
Claw Smash: Smashes its Claw into The Ground, Causing 5 Damage To Anything Struck
Swipe: Quickly Swipes it's Claw Behind it, Doing 5 Damage, And Turns itself Around.
Teleport: It teleports around the Target, then ends up behind them and then Claw Smashes.
Clone: Uses illusions to create Fake, half Transparent clones to confuse the target. (The Clones Stand still and pretend to use Claw Smash.)
Explosive Breath: Sends A Stream of TNT like Explosions that doesn't destroy blocks, Dealing 10 Damage
Hostility:
Anything: Yes
Player: EXTREMELY (It Will Stop Attacking Anything else to attack the Player)
It is summoned by placing the Ender Egg On top of A Beacon, Then Right Clicking with a Eye of Ender. It Cannot be Farmed, For the Ender egg gets destroyed Ender Egg. It Drops A Ender Star, Which Makes A Legendary Beacon, Which Gives You More Beacon Effects. (Fly, Explosion Punch (When You Press A Set Control, it creates a small explosion that does NOT destroy blocks. I know, Its Just A Idea!), Climb Walls, Ect.) -

PacozzTacozz posted a message on Better ender dragonthe ender dragon is kinda boring. not the fight itself but there is no real good reason to fight the ender dragon besides getting levels and the useless ender egg (useless for now...) so I thought they could have better gear. When killing the ender dragon he will drop 8-10 dragon scales used to make the scaled armour (with is a black armour that kinda looks like the ender mans skin and it is the real end game armour. the helmet Has 450 durability (diamond has 364 to put it into perspective) and the helmet alone would give 3 defence. Since dragons are immune to fire in mythology perhaps you don't take fire damage (lava and blaze still hurt just not the fire) but only if you have the full set so you might have to fight him again...Posted in: Suggestions
the ender egg. Perhaps you can have a little structure that incubates the egg so you can fight the ender dragon again or train it from a baby until it's rideable but this training dragons has been mentioned before so you get the idea
dragon scales could also be used to make a weapon like a sword or maybe the hole tool set. That wouldn't get destroyed in fire if you drop it and it would be better then diamond.
ender crystals: those things you have to break on the towers in the end could maybe be craftable and when wearing a set of dragon armor you will get regeneration Like the ender dragon.
Is this too OP? If so, why? I hoped you liked this idea (: -

This is a stonecutter from Minecraft Pocket Edition. It is used to make slabs, some stairs, and other cut objects. I believe it should be in Minecraft PC also instead of having to use a crafting table for these objects. It's made of four cobble stone. -

shortgeo9678 posted a message on Stonecutter in PCIt's four cobblestone. But It saves your items. You only need one of the item to cut.Posted in: Suggestions -

Skylinerw posted a message on Can This be Done with Command Blocks?Posted in: Redstone Discussion and MechanismsQuote from BlockDrop74
I'm making an adventure map currently, and am wondering if something can be done with command blocks. The feature being, that if a player is wearing a certain color of leather armor, and are within a certain area, or biome, that mobs will not notice the players. An example, is that a player would be wearing a full suit of leather armor, let's say, full white (#FFFFFF), and while in a taiga, or tundra biome, they can't be noticed by mobs. If by biome can't be done, maybe by coordinates?
The trouble you'll run into is the inability to modify a mobs target as well as change their targeting rules (such as targeting players not wearing the gear). The best you could do is modify the mobs "followRange" attribute, setting it to 0 to prevent them from acquiring a target. This means that the system will not be able to support multiplayer in any case without in-depth smoke and mirrors. Currently you cannot detect biomes, so you will have to rely on coordinates. Note that this can only be done in 1.8.
For armor color, you must use decimal color values, in which #FFFFFF is equal to 16777215 (I have a converter here if needed). Since multiplayer cannot be supported, you're better off using /testfor instead of /scoreboard just to simplify things.
The initial /testfor, checking for a white leather helmet being worn:
/testfor @a[x,y,z,r] {Inventory:[{id:minecraft:leather_helmet,Slot:103b,tag:{display:{color:16777215}}}]}
If that /testfor is true, you will have to run the following on a clock:
/execute @a[x,y,z,r] ~ ~ ~ /replaceitem entity @e[x,y,z,r,type=!Player] slot.armor.feet minecraft:leather_boots 1 0 {AttributeModifiers:[{AttributeName:generic.followRange,Name:"Reduce",Amount:-1,Operation:2,UUIDLeast:1l,UUIDMost:1l}]}
The above will set the equipment slot of all mobs within the specified area to a pair of leather boots that reduces their "followRange" attribute by 100%. This will cause the mob to both be incapable of acquiring a target, as well as dropping their current target. Once the /testfor is false, you will have to activate the following:
/replaceitem entity @e[type=!Player,r=50] slot.armor.feet minecraft:leather_boots 1 0
Alternatively, replacing with air to empty the slot:
/replaceitem entity @e[type=!Player,r=50] slot.armor.feet minecraft:air

The_Blocky_Gamer posted a message on Command Block Crafting Recipe!?I absolutely love command blocks and I have always tried to think of a way to craft them in Survival Mode, and I have come up with one.Posted in: Suggestions
Also before you comment about needing to be OP then it is okay because if you craft it you would be OP'ed to whatever command blocks you craft, which also would help with griefing and trolling
In first image I have picture of crafting recipe for the core, represented by a name tag named, 'Command Core'. It is made with assorted redstone items.
In second image I use a command block to represent the 'Command Block Shell'. It is made with Hardened Clay surrounding a piece of redstone.
And in final pic I show how they go together
Hope you like it! - To post a comment, please login.

In the way adidushi is using the term "external" I believe he is talking about using a hosting company. If you wanted to get the hardware yourself and run a dedicated server and pay for the good connection speed(through ISP) then that could also be an option for a large server. But if you are not looking to do that, then renting a server from a hosting company is likely better than running it on your pc for the reasons that were mentioned before (for adequate hardware and internet connection).

He should/can be looking for however many of whatever it is he desires. You gave your opinion, now let the person make decisions as he pleases.

It's ashame that when someone doesn't get what he or she desires, instead of being logical, respectful, good spririted and addressing an issue reasonable in a personal message, one attempts to explain his or her heightened abilities to play Minecraft, prejudice towards the younger folk, lack of knowledge of the way our server operates, and in the proccess displays perfectly the definition of a word he or she uses to bash others. Maturity: the ability to resist instantaneous gratification. I don't know how old any of the players on this server are unless they themselves decided to tell me their age, and it has nothing to do with the application selection proccess. However, in this case, it appears that I made the proper decision. I wish for you to find a nice satisfying server for you and your friend to play on.

This will happen on any and every server. There is a simple and effective way to solve the issue. Add a rule to the rule list that roughly states, "Do not ask, beg, nor hint at getting a rank promotion nor how to recieve a promotion. Any such actions will imediately remove said player's ability to recieve a rank promotion." Then when someones asks you respond with "Please read the rules". If they ask again you reply with "/kick player Not following the rules", if they ask a third time you reply with "/ban player Not following the rules".
It would be good at add a line that says aomething like, "All promotions are based on respect, experience, trust, and a players dedication to the server. Spending time playing and interacting with players on the server will impact the optaining of a rank promotion."

Would be neat if a coal block was actually a smoke block. No more webs floating from the tops of chimneys.

I generally don't condone this type of ridicule of the younger folk, but these words are too humorously accurate.

What about a rose block? They would look like rose bushes. When's the last time you saw a single rose, on a single stem, growing by itself? The answer is never, because they don't. >_<

I think being able to plant sugar cane is pots would be a nice addition. Who's to say why it isn't possible already.
While I see what you are trying to get at. Your logic is not fully developed, or it is perhaps flawed.
If you place a clay pit down and look in the top you see what looks to be dirt. This means naturally, we would assume that all things that are placable on a dirt(or grass) block should also be able to be placed in the clay pot. One might also conclude that since it is dirt in the pot that no other items which require different subtrate, for example cacti and sugar cane would be able to be planted in the pot. However, this is where things get tricky, because cacti for whatever reason are ineed pottable. This would mean that the pot contains the neccesary subtrate or block type depending on what item you place in it. This could lead one to belive that since the pot "changes" it's substrate to allow for the planting of cacti, that it would also accomodate sugar cane. However, this is not the case. With this, one now may ask, well is the pot only able to accomodate the items which require one block type, and since sugar cane require either dirt(grass) or sand along with water that it is not able to be platned in a pot. And what about sugar cane that is planted near water. If the water is then filled in with dirt, sand, etc, the sugar cane will remain planted until the sugar cane itself is destroyed or sugar cane directly near it is destroyed. This is much like it would be if it were in the pot, and it is still feasable without any intrusive accomodation, since there is already dirt in the pot. This makes it more of a question as who why the heck are cacti able to be planted?
Additional Comments and Questions:
-Cacti are not plantable on dirt, therefore they should not be able to be planted in clay pots.
-Sugar Cane require dirt and water to be planted, but can live solely with dirt. Thus, they should not be able to be planted in clay pots, but they are still more reasonable to be planted in the pots than cacti.
-Being that cacti are pottable and Sugar Cane is not is absurd.
