Hmm, everyone has a different one that they hate the most. I find that interesting, just because there are so many and certain people over obsess over a couple of them, or hear them more often. Of all the misused memes, Im gonna go with YOLO.

Does speed skating count? I have to go outside to get to it, and its not on a computer. Ice rinks arent outdoors near me though.

I would say go with a water system. It might not be so easy, but that gives you a challenge. Look up how water elevator systems are used in mob traps and improvise from there.

posted a message on What classes do you think should be dropped or added to the public school curriculum?
    Quote from AramilTheElf

Add an earlier language program. As the brain develops, it makes skills like learning languages far harder, so starting in 7th grade as much of the US does is foolishness.

This. Learning a second language should entirely be a requirement for public schools, but needs to be implemented much earlier than middle or high school. I am in college now and after three years of high school french, the only thing I have learned to say is "I do not speak French." :/

My college requires me to be up to level of 4 to 5 years of a foreign language to graduate anyway, so it is seen as a real requirement and not just something slapped onto the end of public school graduation requirements.

posted a message on What classes do you think should be dropped or added to the public school curriculum?
    Quote from Sgt. Traveler

Dropped: Non-native language, excluding English. I used to be taught Arabic language back in my Elementary School and I've never used it until now. Unless you're planning on traveling around the world they seemed to be useless. Also Chemistry, since we're not all science-ish people, but then again I had a terrible attempt at a Chemistry test earlier this week :V

Added: Uhm...I don't know...counseling, I guess? I used to have it on my Junior High School but it's not necessarily in the curriculum.

Thats the thing about chemisty. There are no good high shcool teachers because anyone who gets proper training in chemistry doesnt want to end up at a high school because of the amount of funding required to do anything with chemistry and the small amount high schools provide. Even if they want to do chemistry and teach, they want to end up at a college and not a high school.

I personally do not think that chemistry, art, phys ed, or language requirements should be dropped because even if you dont learn and master that chemistry class or that half a language you learned, it is important to go through to get that minimal amount of knowledge of the world around you. Granted half a language and a tiny bit of chemistry are not all that useful on their own, I still think its important to be kept.

I am in college now, but my high school did not offer a computer programming class. It offered a class for microsoft word but nothing remotely close to programming. The school required a tech class, but didnt offer programming, which was astonishing to me. I fought for three hard years and ended up getting my high school to offer it as a class starting the year I left, but it still is not as high of a priority as it should be in high schools.

In normal clothing a fadora is just a fadora. When you wear something reasonable, a fadora can look really good. I love my fadora and wear it every time I play in a concert.

Looks cool. Definitely something I want to try with my mob trap, except I want to use a splash potion to kill them instead of having to whack them all one by one.

posted a message on How far do hostile mobs have to fall to be one hit kill?
What other people aren't saying is that its two hits with your hand, but you can get it down to one hit if you use a stone sword. Since they practically cost nothing, I have no problem with making a lot of them, and then they always do one hit kills from that height.

posted a message on xp farm struggling with waterflow transition
Are you talking about an actual ladder? They wont climb them, especially if they dont have a person to chase. If you're talking about a water ladder/elevator, which I assume you are, you should be making one block increments that the zombies can swim up to get to the open block of air, all the way up to the max height you want them at. There are plenty of videos available for this.

    Heres one video I found

posted a message on "Official" Mining Strategies?
If you're like me and you want an actual product at the end of your mining excavation, then you'll make an entire cave. I started this from an underwater dome, made a quarry mine down to level 9, and then just expanded in all four directions as far as I could. It's not the most efficient, but it looks a lot nicer/cooler than a couple of tunnels and it spawns a ton of slimes.

This is the top view from the ocean

These are other photos taken from the center

The distance is so far that I actually had to install a mod to take away void fog, so the little bit of fog you see is from the distance maxing out on "far" render.

And like I said I get a ton of slimes

I can find practical uses for deserts and oceans, because of their large areas either of flatness, with mountains, or just with water. Swamps I dont use, but I really dont mind. Jungles really do annoy me though. They dont look good in any way, shape, or form and theyre just annoying to walk through.
