No one has any suggestions?
Well, I'm going to start thinking of how to best present this information, maybe make some little infographic icons for features.

Jan 14, 2011Birch/pine trees are not visibly different. I just missed Zahl's mcmap update with those, sorry. It'll have to wait a little while.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Jan 14, 2011Posted in: Mods DiscussionQuote from Ferus Grim »I realize that it's a set rule that, after each update, the mods have to be rechecked... but why? I mean, especially this one. What could Notch have possibly edited to make this incompatible? XD
The code is minimized, meaning when notch builds a new version for us, all the names of all the classes and methods and fields are stripped out and reassigned a one or two letter code, just in alphabetic order. So if he adds a single new class with a name that starts with 'a' that doesn't even do anything, every single other class below it in alphabetical order changes names.
It's a nightmare for modders. I'm pretty shocked at how many of them bother with it at all after the first few releases.
Jan 14, 2011You mean like Saw the movie? With the cancer man and the puppet?Posted in: Mods Discussion
So this is a downloadable map and the goal is to escape some sort of prison without breaking any cobblestone or dying.
You should cut back on the double rainbows and explain what it is you are doing here. Screenshots might help too.
Jan 14, 2011It's in the minecraft.jar file where you put the mod.Posted in: Mods Discussion
But if that doesn't work, just throw away the whole minecraft.jar file. The launcher will get you a fresh new copy.
Also, thank you for actually buying the game. You are the first person I've seen today asking for help who actually bought the damn game.
Jan 14, 2011Updated with new blocks, newest versions of the bundled programs and a small bugfix with the biome extractor.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Download Now or use the built-in update function.
With regards to the thread title, MCMap Live version 1.3.2 had over 10,000 unique downloads, most of which came directly from a previous version of the program, meaning that's a pretty accurate user count. Thanks guys for making this app so popular.

I'll try to get out version 1.3.3 tonight. It'll just be a few quick fixes:
Adding the new blocks to the block finder, texture loader
Updating to the newest mcmap and Minecraft Biome Extractor
Fix white screen crash when trying to update biome data while biome colors are disabled
Version 2.0 is still on hold until March.

Says the guy who pirated the game, got called on it, then tried to use someone else's account name to pretend otherwise.
Jan 13, 2011Donkey_Kong posted a message on Minecraft Biome Extractor - Add Biome Support to Your MapperPosted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from rbos »I don't know if it's intended or not, but my Minecraft world has some way-off chunks that MBE doesn't seem to extract. From Overviewer:
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/minecraft/minecraft-smp/world/EXTRACTEDBIOMES/62496.62496.biome'
Not sure if that's intended or not. Generating biome data for that much zoom level is probably prohibitively expensive.
Any chunks that are more than 4096 from the origin are just ignored when calculating the bounds. That's hardcoded in exactly so that stray chunks super far away won't cause it to generate an absurd amount of data. I can't really think of a better, general solution to this problem.
Connected component is expensive and can legitimately fail if you use the nether to warp. Making sure each chunk adjoins at least one other can fail because stray chunks can be generated in sets of two or more. I guess at some point I should create some sort of data structure that hashes out what chunks exist and then generates the biome values for only those.

Your texture pack needs to be updated for this new version. It was probably a birch tree and you have no texture for it.

Do you not have birch trees or something? They grow all over my back yard, I like them.
