posted a message on Mapper feature listing
I made little 20x20 icons and added them to the first post. I'm trying to figure out how to best present these on the wiki but I'm having some trouble with formatting. If someone can explain why the features template keeps getting wrapped in
     tags, that would be great:

    http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/User: ... ng/Mappers

I'll probably also need some help getting an accurate feature listing for all the mappers on the wiki. I can't test them all extensively.

what if I DO host the server?

Then any mapper will work. Just point it at the world folder.

MCMap Live will work for you.

How exactly do I make it so that it uses the colors from a texture?

Open up Preferences in the MCMap Live menu.

Press the plus sign and select the terrain.png from the texture pack you want to use the colors from. If the texture pack is a zip file, unzip it and inside you'll find a file called terrain.png. That's the one you want.

Which you could have just googled for. I'm not sure why you guys make crappy threads like this asking for information readily available on google, the minecraft wiki, and in existing threads here. Then sit and wait for answers for 9 hours and bump the thread! Search for a few seconds!

posted a message on Minecraft Biome Extractor - Add Biome Support to Your Mapper
Updated de-obfuscation strings (client now matches 100%)
Fixed outputDir getting ignored on the command line when saving grass, foliagecolor.png
Includes default images which will be written to extracted biomes even if you are working with the server jar

Download Minecraft Biome Extractor v0.71a (+source)

It cannot extract grasscolor.png and foliagecolor.png from server jars because they aren't distributed with the server jar. I just double checked and it should still be fine with client minecraft.

There was a small bug I noticed when using it from the command line though. If you specified an output directory manually, it ignores the setting and puts the grass and foliage color pngs in the old default location: world folder/EXTRACTEDBIOMES.

I'll fix that and include some default images for users of the server jar. I just have to make them myself because I can't distribute stuff copyright Mojang.

You should explain how you fixed it and what was wrong so we can all update our mental list of pitfalls.

Could be your installation method. Have you tried installing using the jar tool?

    For example:
    jar uf minecraft.jar ax.class

Keefachu, are you, like, a manic depressive or something? You are writing like a crazy person.

David, there are a few things that could do this:

Mods not in sync with minecraft version
Mods conflicting in a subtle way
Mods compiled for Java 1.6 and you only have Java 1.5
