What the... I'm guessing it's a null pointer exception!
Damn. Let me see what I can do.

Mar 3, 2011Alright, got it.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Gotta do some more testing and add the new block types, but things are looking good. Unfortunately, Live was designed around the old chunk format, so performance is a bit degraded. I'll need to do a more extensive rewrite to fix that. But other than that, everything is working for now.
Edit: Damn, a creeper blew a hole in the roof. Also, I need to work in some of the suggestions from last page. Especially making sure we don't print to console.
Edit 2: Alright, tackled the output thing, that worked, I think. It never outputs anything to the console on my system, but I explicitly set the outputs to go to /dev/null.
Block Finder is now called Find Blocks and has the shortcut Command F. The Nether is now command E. Flush Cache is command R. Just little changes to the interface that Alien Collective suggested to make things more standard and Mac-like.
Edit 3: Oh damn, I forgot that worlds now have names. I need to write some code to detect those and build the in-app menu using that.
Mar 3, 2011Running an old version of minecraft? That's all that springs to mind. That error is saying that it couldn't find the save handler class at all, which would only happen if you pointed it at a pre Beta 1.3 jar.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Mar 2, 2011Donkey_Kong posted a message on Im New to server creating. (as well as the forums)The easiest way which won't involve explaining any configuration is to delete the map folder that the server created, take the map folder you want to use, name it "world", and place it the the location where the server map used to be.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Mar 1, 2011New release!Posted in: Minecraft Tools
- Updated for Beta 1.3 compatibility, both client 1.3_01 and whatever server version is current
- Populates GUI menu with all named worlds (Instead of just World1, World2, etc)
- More robust reflection signatures
- New file format
- Auto generation works on regions rather than a global bounding box
- Greatly improved performance
Download Minecraft Biome Extractor v0.8
Mar 1, 2011Biome Extractor's file format will be changing a little bit to make more sense re: mcregion savesPosted in: Minecraft Tools
The folder containing the biomes is changing name. "EXTRACTEDBIOMES" is now called just "biomes" to fit in better. The files inside will now be in 32x32 chunks (instead of the old 8x8) and the naming scheme will mimic the mcregion file format:
and so on. The stuff inside will be identical though, just longer. Should mean that each file will be 512KB.
Sorry for the break in compatibility but it's a change that's badly needed and I figure now is a good time to do it. I'll post some sample output / the updated utility as soon as it's ready.
Mar 1, 2011I'm starting work on fixing Live and Biome Extractor in about an hour.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
I appreciate the kind words. I am not accepting donations at this time.
Feb 28, 2011There's no textured skybox now but you could totally add one. It would be extremely easy to do. I might take a look later, but I won't be creating and supporting a mod. If I get something that works well, I'll post it but it'll break next update and I'm not willing to maintain it.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Feb 28, 2011"A static background where images can be transposed."Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
"A static background"
So like an image that doesn't move behind the game. That makes no sense. Minecraft doesn't have transparent areas to see though, you'd never see a static background.
"Where images can be transposed"
Where you can take several images and make them swap places?
You are using words and I'm not sure you know what they mean. Do you want a HUD?
Edit: Or do you want to replace the skybox with something more interesting? That might be what you're getting at.
Feb 22, 2011Expect an update late next week at the earliest. I am extraordinarily busy.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Feb 22, 2011Beta 1.3 breaks MCMap Live. An mcmap update is available but there are more changes than a simple drop in to make it work with Live. I am extraordinarily busy at the moment, so you can expect an update some time late next week.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Feb 14, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from jasohazard »It says it cannot run on my version of mac osx. Why cant i do anything on mac
Because you're running an old version of Mac OS X. There were lots of really nice Cocoa API changes in 10.6. Developers who take on projects for fun like to use the latest and greatest API features because they generally make things easier to code.
Feb 14, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from franktinsley »Total shot in the dark here but I really love this app and I once saw someone who was somehow hosting a live map of their server, that could update in real time and show the player locations, all while using the Google Maps GUI. This seemed like a dream come true for anyone running a server. Is there any chance at all the developer of MCMap Live might consider someday working in the ability to host a live feed of a server world in a way similar to what I described? Making it simple for people running servers to host live, browser explorable maps, would of course be completely phenomenal. Although I'm pretty sure that would be outside the scope of what this developer probably wants to do (for free at least ;D) I figured I would mention it anyway.
I plan on implementing player locations and automatic updating of the map while the game is running. No web interface is planned. That's beyond the scope of this program. See Minetographer for something like that.
