Do you wish to join our community Skype chat? If so, what is your Skype username? (This is optional):

    I'm in it.

Have you read and agreed to both the rules and the lore of the server?:

    Yep.

What is the definition of “Powergaming”?:

Powergaming is forcing actions upon other players without giving them a chance to respond. For example: *Harry stabs Ron right in the heart, instantly killing him* instead of the correct way to do it; *Harry launches at Ron with a dagger in his heart, bloodlust in his eyes as he aims right for the heart*

What is the definition of “Metagaming”?:

Metagaming is using OOC information IC. For example, people have nametags and names in chat. Ron has never met Harry before, but xXCoDGamer123Xx has met SuperSaianSlayer123 many times and knows what their character is named. So Ron walks up to Harry saying "Hi Harry," leaving Harry quite confused and possibly creeped out.

What is the definition of “Roleplay”?:

Roleplay is creating a character, playing said character in the setting the server decides and basing all of your actions upon what your character would do instead of what you personally would do.

Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?:

    Nobody.

When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?:

When the puppet master of said character consents to the death of their masterpiece.

When are you allowed to speak out of character?:

In OOC chat, with double parantheces/brackets in chat ((like this)) or in PM.

Do you have any previous RP experience, Minecraft or elsewhere? (Optional):

TAC, TWO, Rise of Kings and some small ones I really never got engaged in. If I'm right I've been doing it for two years, time flies by.

    Character Information

    Name:

Sebastian Davenwood (Present day; Dave Wood)

    Age:

    36

    Race:

    Human

    Physical description:

Dave is a rather small guy standing at 5'7" with quite muscular arms. He weighs around 160 Ibs and is naturally left handed, but was taught to use his right hand. This has slipped a little now though, and he uses a little of both. His eyes are a very dark brown color, creating the illusion of black. His hair matches the color of his eyes, if not a little bit lighter shade of brown. He's most frequently seen wearing a brown pair of pants with matching suspenders over a white shirt.

Screen capture of your skin (I recommend uploading to imgur and posting link here):

Biography (Minimum 225 words. Most very fleshed-out characters have around 300, but feel free to use even more than that if you wish. Try and avoid clichés such as loved one being killed by bandits or the like):

36 years ago, Sebastian was born to Henrik and Helena Davenwood into a prestigious life in The Crownlands. From a very early age (frankly as soon as he could speak), he was taught everything a man of a noble heritage was expected to know, from proper manners to which abominations he was never to lay his eyes upon long enough to see the color of their skin. (ex. halfmen, drow, savages.) Thus he was brought up with very limited knowledge of the other races and the life outside of The Crownlands, as he was expected to live and die there. What he did learn however, was a lot about elves. He even learnt their languages, as they were highly regarded, sort of like a magical version of the human. If one ever were to wander through the city, he could impress and create important connections to the magical race. (Though of course not regarded as BETTER than the humans themselves.)

At the age of 10, Sebastian learnt about the deities. As a 10 year old who'd never stepped a foot beyond the baker at the other side of town, it was a hard concept to grasp. However, his parents were vivid followers of Saviesa, and of course Sebastian as well at their expectations. His upbringing and childhood consisted mostly of this, expectations. His path was laid out for him the second he lay his eyes upon this world. Of course, at this stage Sebastian was only 10 and though he didn't understand most of what he was taught, he didn't object even when his mother excitedly told him who he'd wed and spend the rest of his life with when they both came of age

    .
It wasn't until Sebastian was 15 he showed his first flash of a mind of his own. It was the evening of a rather chilly day in the Crownslands when he carefully walked up to his mother and waited for her attention by the doorway. It took a little while, but eventually she raised her eyes to meet his. "Yes, Sebastian?" she demanded more than asked. Sebastian coughed a little before straightening up and looking Helena straight in the eyes as he said "Mother, I am at a lack of activities to tend to. May I go outside?" Helena's eyes widened in surprise, but only in the lesser part of a second before she gathered herself again. "You know perfectly well Sebastian, we only go outside when we are all gathered." Sebastian looked dissapointed. "Straighten up," his mother said before returning to her previous activity.

After this slightly rebellious act, Sebastian started to feel trapped. He didn't give much thought to it then, but the feeling only grew and grew until he could no longer ignore it. The glass was at it's fullest on the day he was to wed Bianca of the Gyldenhaal's, his 18th's birthday. Relently, he got dressed in the clothes his mother had chosen for him, and suddenly he found himself at the altar with a stranger walking down the aisle.

"Do you, Sebastian of the Davenwoods, take Bianca of the Gyldenhaal's to be your lawfully wedded spouse?" There was a long silence. Bianca stared at him expectantly. His mother stared at him expectantly. His father stared at him expectantly. He looked around. And then he realized. Everyone in that room was looking at him expectantly.

"No," he said. He didn't hear the reactions. He didn't see their faces. He didn't think. He just turned around and walked away.

18 years later, Sebastian has doubled his age, changed his name and turned his whole life upside down.
In the beginning it was hard. Though Sebastian was a highly regarded person in The Crownsland, he had little to no knowledge of the world outside of it, and he had visually no clue what he was doing or what he wanted to do. All he wanted to know was that he wanted to live simple, and free. He didn't want to be tied down anymore. Of course, he could probably have easily worked as a professor or learn to become an alchemist or any of these things, but he decided to abandon all of this. So naturally, he was ready to grab the first opportunity that came his way.

He wandered the lands until he was in the lands of Beschwall where as the ground was covered in crops, literally. Except from a few houses here and there the wheat was everywhere. It was quite a magnificent sight for someone who hadn't taken a step outside of his birth town until now. He asked the locals where he could get work, and eventually a sweet couple decided they'd teach him their trade for his free work. He introduced himself as Dave Wood, which would prove to be his name for a long time forward. This continued until both of them were too old to work, and he took over the business to run it by himself. Of course, they got a share, but now that they'd decided to move out, he had the house to himself. Sometimes it was lonely, but he loved tending to his crops. He loved having a place to himself. He loved how free he was.

When Sebastian had spent 36 summers in this world, he heard rumours that undead had started spreading on Enris, an island outside of Beschwall. They needed people, not only warriors and fighters, but people of other trades.. like farmers. He quickly decided to wrap up things on the farm and sold it for a cheap price to the neighbour before getting on the next boat there. The easy life had been good for a while, but it was time to actually do something good.

What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):

Helping with whatever is going on in Enris, hopefully exploring life's lengths a little more than he's done up until now.

    Strengths (Both physical and personality):

Dave is quite a smart guy, though he mostly hides this in favor of the life he's built up as a farmer. Physically he's got very strong arms from all the farming he's done, but the rest of his body is the one of the average man. Being able to use both of his hands equally instead of having one stronger has also proven to be quite useful.

Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):

Dave isn't very cold-headed. Being brought up in such a protected environment, he'll easily panic in situations of distress. This as well as not being a particularly good runner, can end up creating a huge disadvantage in the battle he's set off into. In addition to this, he's got quite a few irrational frights. For instance, he's terrified of heights and water. He can't possibly understand why people won't be terrified knowing that one wrong steps can send them into their death, or swimming.. for fun? They have no idea what's down there!

What is your character's personality? (Optional; use this field to note character traits that you feel don't fit into either strengths or weaknesses if you wish):

Dave is quite a nice and friendly guy, but he does not forgive easily. He likes to surround himself with people he can trust, and a broken bond is hard to fix. Though he may be described as a bit of a whimp with all of these irrational fears, he'll often try to overcome them in order to seem more courageous, especially in front of people he wants to impress. As he was taught, pride is a very important thing to him. Some things are hard to let go of.

    Bonus Language (Caro is free):

    Arturan and Wild Elven

Character Traits (up to 7 points worth):

    Advanced Farmer (5)

    Scholar (2)

    Human bonus: Heavy Drinker

    I'm already in there.

Have you read and agreed to both the rules and the lore of the server?:
    Indeed.

What is the definition of “Powergaming”?:
    Powergaming is when you phrase your action in such a way that the other roleplayers don't get to reply or defend their characters. An example is;
*Ron stabs Harry in the stomach and kills him* instead of *Ron dashes at Harry with his knife*
Powergaming is also when you do things that are completely impossible, such as dodging a thousand arrows.

What is the definition of “Metagaming”?:
Metagaming is using information you have retrived OOCly and using it IC, giving your character information they wouldn't know. For example, if your friend tells you about a robbery on skype you immediately go there.

What is the definition of “Roleplay”?:
Roleplay is when you take on another's personality and pretend you're in their universe and body. You base all of your actions on what your character would do instead of what you would do yourself.

Who can use flymod, X-ray and other such clientsided mods?:
    Nobody.

When are you allowed to cause the death of another character?:
When you have their consent and a VA(A).

When are you allowed to speak out of character?:
In the OOC chat or with double parantheces in IC chat if you have something to clear up regarding roleplay.

Do you have any previous RP experience, Minecraft or elsewhere?
I've roleplayed since I first joined this community in July 2013. In addition to the experience I got from The Anerian Chronicles, I have been a part of Rise of Kings and Averian. On Rise of Kings I got the position of whitelister before I retired from it a while ago.

    Character Information

    Name:
    Valerie Brightblade

    Age:
    19

    Class:
Craftsman (I do not wish for her to have any other classes as she is quite uneducated in most things except for what one could call “scholar” things. She is not to be considered a craftsman as she can not create a lot of things.)

    Physical description:
After Valerie left her family’s richness and proudness she completely changed her clothing style. Instead of wearing the gloomy clothes that she wore as the daughter of a rich man and woman, she normally wears normal clothes like ordinary people. She has long, red hair accompanied by green eyes.

    Screen capture of your skin:
I just took a random one I found, the pig is called snail by the way..

Biography (Minimum 300 words. No clichés such as loved one being killed by robbers or the like.):
Valerie was born into a rich family, 19 years ago in the lands of Braxia. They lived in a big mansion with their servants. Valerie's first year consisted of playing with the maids, seeing as her parents were very absent through her entire childhood. In spite of her parent's absence, she didn't feel sorry or sad for herself. Kids tend to adapt to their surroundings, and this was how it had always been for her.
She grew particularily close to a maid called Maria, and she shortly became a sort of nanny for Valerie. As Valerie was technically her master, Maria always had to do as she said, thus she didn't work as much as she played with Valerie. Valerie’s father wanted her to stay inside, secluded from the rest of the society, so this is what she did. Growing up she did not have any friends except from the maids, who could hardly be considered “friends”.

Slowly but surely Valerie grew up to become a young woman, where she was no longer expected to play with the maids, but instead learn to read and write, doing something with her life. Valerie didn't see anything wrong with this, it was sensible that she couldn't just play for the rest of her life, and so she started spending a lot of time in the library. The family's library consisted mostly of history books, but also a few short stories that she really enjoyed. Whenever she stumbled upon a story instead of a historical book, she always hid it away in her room to read it later, whilst when her father checked in on her she always sat and read history.
After Valerie started reading her father started being more present in her life, sometimes they'd have short conversations about history, though her mother’s absence remained in place.

At the age of 16, Valerie’s father presented her to pen and paper. She was rather curious of the action, but her father explained to her that after all the reading she’d done, it was time for her to start writing. It didn’t take long for this to become a huge interest for Valerie, and she loved the art of creating her own little stories. When she presented her first story to her father, he was furious. He had wanted her to write summaries of the history she read from the library, but instead he was presented with, quoted “The most unuseful piece of garbage he’d ever seen.” Valerie was heartbroken by the lack of support from her father, and for one year they hardly talked at all. Valerie continued her studies, though her father started growing more absent again.

After a year had passed, Valerie took all of her courage and stood up against her father. She told him how she loved to write and read stories, not history, and she told him that this was what she wanted to do with her life. For a second one could believe one could spot a bit of compassion in his eyes, but if it was even there, it quickly dissapeared. As Valerie expected, he was furious, and he didn’t want for her to write or read any of this garbage ever again. Valerie could’ve sworn he would throw her out of the house right there and then, but instead he just left for work. Valerie never got to know exactly what kind of work her parents were doing, though her father had more than once returned with broken bones.

After another year of being the good girl her father wanted her to be, Valerie had gotten enough. One night, when her parents were away, she packed a bag with all of the important things she’d need for the journey. She had heard something about an expedition to a new island, and she had decided that was where she was going next. In spite of her father’s behaviour, she felt guilty about leaving, and she felt like she had to tell someone, and so she ended up telling Maria, the maid she used to play with as a child. With her on the journey she brought some money, a quill and a piece of paper as well as food.

And so Valerie Brightblade set out on the biggest journey of her life.

What is your character’s main goal? (Motivation):
Valerie wants to start a life for herself and life off of her writing. Eventually she wants to become more educated as a scholar. (Learning a scholar class.)

    Strengths (Both physical and personality):
Whilst she is not physically strong, Valerie’s education from her father has taught her to be a quite smart girl. She knows how to read and write, as well basic math.

Weaknesses (Balance out yours character's strengths with suitable weaknesses. Not knowing how to do something that is outside of your class is not a weakness. I.E. Not knowing how to use a bow as a miner.):
Valerie’s physical strength would be her biggest weakness. Spending the most of her life in a library and secluded from society, she would hardly be able to carry something that is considered heavy at all. In addition to this she is what one could consider quite clumsy and uneducated about basic things most people would know due to living her entire life with servants; an example would be cooking.

In-Character-Responses (ICRs. For each scenario, write at least a paragraph describing entirely in-character how your character would respond to the situation. Your ICRs will be used to see how well you can RP. Please post them as if in IC chat. An example can be found after this form.)

Due a recent accident, you wander the dark quiet streets of the town with a broken ankle trying to make your way home:
Valerie sighed as she limped down the street, cursing at her clumsyness. “Very smart Val, very smart of you to break your ancle in a completely unknown place, now limping down a dark alley,” she muttered to herself, mainly to break the silence. Suddenly she heard a creaking noise from a nearby house, and spun around faster than her father dissapeared out the door going to work. A cat wandered out of a sideway from the street, and she shook her head. “You’re just being paranoid,” she whispered as she could finally see the end of what seemed like an endless alleyway, spotting a hospital not far away. Her original thought was going home, but after all she had no medical experience what so ever, so she might as well pay the hospital a visit.

In a tavern, a stranger threatens you to fight him/her:
“I’m not looking for a fight Sir, I was only looking for a friend,” she replied, glancing at the clearly drunk man with disgust in her eyes. She had never liked the fact that people willingly drank liquid that could create even the kindest man into a monster. It took the man a while to reply, the drunkenness blinding his ability to think properly. “Oh is that so sweetheart? Where is this friend of yours?” he said seductively, moving slightly closer to her. Disgusted by the man, she hurried out of the bar before the man could realise she had even taken one step. Behind her she thought she could hear a dump from the man falling, but maybe that was just her imagination playing her a trick.

Your superior asks for a favour you would have problem doing:
“You want me to do what?” Valerie replied, slightly slower and lower than her normal voice. “You heard me,” Luke replied. He was her superiour, but what he wanted her to do was outrageous, even illegal! “Why can’t you do it yourself?” she asked. “Oh sweetheart, you know..” he said, slowly walking over to her. He tipped her chin a little upwards and looked straight into her eyes. “I’m an important man with an important position, I couldn’t be caught doing such a thing.” This made Valerie angry. The pure fact that he looked at himself as more worth than herself disgusted her, even though he was her superiour and did matter more than she did. Furious, she turned around and started walking towards the door. “If you walk out that door, Brightblade, you’re not coming back!” Valerie ignored him and hurried out, slamming the door shut behind her.

Congratulations, your application has been accepted, after having a small chat on skype I understand that your character's objective is to prevent people from becoming Deathknights and Warlocks.

Unfortunately, your application has been deffered. Time machines are not acceptable on the server. You have to re-write your backstory to remove the time machine, keep in mind that this is a medieval-based roleplay server. I also need a screenshot of your skin before accepting you.

I saw it on the front of the minecraftforum.

Do you understand and accept the rules:
Certainly, no reason to apply if I didn't.

    What's our policy on raging:
There's never a good reason to rage, fall down seven times, get up eight. Just deal with it, nobody likes a rager. If you don't give up, you can't lose.

Quick question here: if I were to make a craftsman or laborer application would I be stuck in that class for the rest of time or could I plan a way to sort cause a change in class? I say this because I noticed that nobody has applied for a craftsman or laborer class, but I don't want to always be a craftsman.

You can go to the academy and get to a higher tier class after that, you can find these classes in the original post.

By the way, I didn't know we were accepting applications before the basic lore is done. The lore could eventually interfere with biographies.

"It's alright." Then she looked down at her clothes, a dark blue dress that was now blood-stained. It used to be her favourite dress. Used to be were the keywords. Was this even possible? Some random guy turned up in a dark alley and told her she was a monster, and that she had to come with him. Why did she even go with him? These people were clearly crazy. The evidence. She thought to herself. It was strong, she'd ki-she stopped the thought, not wanting to think about it.
