Reason for status: I'm always interested in playing on different servers, and I'm on many white lists. I'd enjoy being involved in a new, Australian server.
"Profession you're interested in": Demolisher, as my first preference; Warlock, as a second preference.
"Buxville or the Wild, or both?": Probably "both", I dislike loitering exclusively around town, and prefer to explore the rest of the map. I am likely to build a house and/or base in both areas.
Hey, I just got banned for nothing. All I got was the message "Crew do not unban". I don't even know why, though. Especially since Doctor_Bob saw me with my friends. I've never griefed and I'm even a donor, I really hope someone can tell me what's up.
Yeah I've been banned myself also now, all I did was try to control the greifing and other crap that was going on. I honestly made a mistake by banning you. I was very annoyed because I was able to ban, but not un-ban someone.
I was also the ONLY mod on for a good 3 and a half hours. Spawning items for people so they could replace what others had stolen. I also managed to (with great frustration) to get a list of some of the possible greifers, eventually someone gave (a regular) me your name. So I consulted other Moderators, no one protested, then once I found out I had make a honest mistake as other people started berating me for trying my damn hardest to get rid whatever idiot(s) were stealing (and destroying, eg. a space shuttle that consisted of 1000s of blocks) stuff on the server.
Well I'm not some sort of abusive person, Perhaps I should have not got involved and just ignored the crap. But, there's nothing I can do now.
I'm sorry you got banned, that was obviously a very foolish mistake, but I did try my hardest to fix up the server... I've never greifed nor harassed anyone, and, the to the best of my ability, tried to help others. Even if it just meant spawning items so they could construct buildings; that is probably what I'm best at, just being there to spawn items for people... I don't know, but I was overcome when I logged on this morning, although I may have blown it out of proportion, as I stated before, I was the ONLY Moderator on at that time... my client must have crashed three to four times just from the amount of teleports I had to undertake just to simply see what had been greifed overnight (for my time zone).
I really wished that a more seasoned Admin or Moderator would come on, as I was obviously swamped with crap in the morning, but none did, I assume this is because of time differences, or other commitments that kept them away... I'd imagine God or Kabby would be able to sort this mess out in minutes. While I could be there to spawn the occasional 200 cobble stone blocks, or see some of the, greifing (they managed to remove over 600 lava blocks while leaving the glass ceiling and walling in one case).
You can keep be banned forever if you truly wish, but you should promote 'nakedlightbulbs' to Admin immediately as she, if granted the necessary powers, could have dealt with the minor-catastrophe far better than I ever could have. She would be an EXTREMELY good Administrator, and went to great trouble to try to deal with the crap that took place this morning.
So, if I'm truly banned forever, I wish you all good luck with the server, I humbly apologise to Psiana for whatever trouble I caused him/her. I also hope that God, Kabby, or Eegan have dealt with whatever fool caused all this trouble. Thanks for the time on the server guys.
Similar ideas have already been suggested, (e.g. carrying a torch, larger/modified torches). The problem is that the MineCraft engine simply does not like light sources, I've heard that it took several weeks to program the transition from day to night, and even then, light sources in the game are still buggy.
Therefore it may be more difficult than in seems to program lights in the manner you suggested, considering right now the crosshair itself is also very basic.
To further complicate things, introducing a feature like this in multiplayer would be very problematic. When two players are mining the same block it is already buggy and flawed, with their efforts not "stacking up". While light is different, I can imagine it will be very finicky to code, and would cause issues with the server.
I'm not programmer and I've only observed the above from actual gameplay, and not knowledge of the code itself. Therefore I may be completely wrong?
Yeah that definitely sounds like a good idea. Not sure if it could be implemented any time soon as it isn't what I would call "high priority".
I also suffer (and I'm sure almost all MineCrafters also do), from the issue regarding the selection of tools. I always end up "stacking" tools in a vertical column.

This set-up allows me to quickly change tools whenever I suffer from a breakage, but this method is less than ideal. I would defiantly support this idea.
I was told that fire has the capability to "jump" a certain amount of blocks in any direction, so if he had made a larger stone barrier he would have been alright. I haven't tested this theory though.
