posted a message on Exclusive capes for Alpha players, and in the future, Beta players.
The fact that alpha players are going to be getting all future updates for free isn't enough for you?

I forsee the capes just bringing about more flame, and they had better have a way to be turned off as I for one would never wear a cape....

posted a message on Minecraft: To buy or not to buy?
Buy it, get the updates as they come out instead of waiting to get a cracked copy that's not loaded with viruses.
Buy it so your not breaking the law.
Buy it to help support a fresh non greed inspired company.
Buy it so you can play on a real server.
Buy it now so you can get a name you like without having to add 019101 to the end of it!

Buy it, its worth it, you know it, I know it, we all know it. If you enjoy mine craft buy it!

posted a message on You DONT need to make a new world for 1.8!
You DO NOT need to make a new world for 1.8 to get the new features!

Just like with every update in the past, and hopefully in the future, the new features will be loaded with new chunks!

This means when 1.8 comes out if you wish to keep your main world all you have to do is walk to new area's that you have never been to before!

From @jeb_ Tweeter account on July 6th

@Bahzur You can keep your old map without bugs, but new features will only spawn in new areas

The only thing your going to run across will be the chunk error edges around your previously generated land, just the same as it was with the Halloween update! Nothing more than Giant ridges, and this will be caused because of the changes to terrain generation code.

This was made just because I have noticed SO many people misinformed that they will have to generate a new world for 1.8 features! Do us all a favor and get the word around that they don't have to!

    TL:DR Read the title!!

posted a message on So with NPC villages finally arriving...
He never mentioned if you're even going to have an option to be friendly or hostile with them. Would be very nice to have the option but come on who isn't going to murder them all?

Really im more stuck on the "what kind of npc" question, If were talking a goblin village (seen this thrown around for a long time) I'd say kill em all. Now if were talking a human or elf village... well im not to sure i would kill them, if there was some kind of reward for staying friendly with them, then the second village of them i find would stay alive. (gonna have to say I'll more than likely plunder the first village i come across)

posted a message on Defensive structures?
Well first off with the addition of pistons coming "soon" PvP and security as we know it are going to get a MAJOR overhaul. Some examples (for future idea's)

1: Use Sticky pistons hidden behind a wall to pull 2 blocks out of the way leading to a secret passage, you could also hide the input device. (hidden entrance / exit, hidden base, etc...)

2: From the vid jeb released of pistons, you should be able to pull a piston with a sticky piston (Based on the "wall" device shown near the end). With this in mind, PIT TRAPS! you should be able to created a "moat" around your base and Hide it using pistons (1 piston lowers the "ground" block, another piston pull the before mentioned piston and ground block to the side, leaving a hole straight down). I dont know about you but having a 4x# hidden moat around my base = win

3: You should be able to drop lava from the top of fortress to burn people trying to break in!! (could use pistons to turn this effect on / off)

4: If you plan on having to "hold up" in your base, then some simple things are almost a must!
    - Have a farm! (you choice on the set up)
    - Have a mine! I would also suggest being able to seal the entrance just encase the sneaky people break into the mine and try and use it as an entrance :smile.gif:
    - Having supplies stocked up. Mostly arrows and bows since the stuff needed to make them isn't so easy to gather.
    - Have a tree farm (your choice on the set up again)

5: Having the top edge's of your base set up with an alternating pattern of block and no block, so that archers can shoot thru an opening and hide behind a block to avoid incoming fire.

6: Having cannons is always nice (ither a large 360 cannon or at least 1 cannon on ither side that can be "aimed")

7: Land mines! You could ether just put a pressure pad on top of tnt (hide the mine's by covering the area in pressure pads) Or with a lot more work, rig them to a red stone system so you can blow them up as needed.

Kinda long, but just the of the top of my head idea's for having a "safe" fort.
