posted a message on All Mobs Being Able To Wear Armor + New Feature! (New Mob Collaboration AI!)

I know I'm four years late in the party, but I definitely support this. The potential of this idea wouldn't be limited to a neat easter egg, a joke feature, or even one more gameplay feature. It could also affect mapmaking and command creations.

If a mob could render a helmet, it could also wear blocks and custom player heads. The armor mobs could wear would include dyed leather armor. You know how you can take a zombie/skeleton/zombie pigman/husk/whatever and put a head, armor and weapons on it so that it looks like a new mob? If this was implemented, the same could be done with many other mobs! You could turn a slime into a hopping dirt block, a cat into a baby tiger, etc. I know there are more efficient ways of doing this, but most of those that keep things mostly vanilla involve Optifine and/or resource packs, so it would be nice to have an easier-to-use alternative for users who prefer not to use the existing methods.

It would also be nice as a gameplay feature, though. You could equip armor on mobs you'd want to protect, such as villagers, cows, wolves and golems. At the same time, hostile mobs such as creepers, slimes and endermen with extra armor (saying this because Endermen can already wear helmets even if they don't spawn with them, iirc) would provide an additional challenge, while also rewarding lucky players with their armor when defeated. Maybe new types armor exclusive to these mobs could be added as well in order to motivate players to fight them.

Only issue I see is that there are mobs where player armor would just looks weird, such as spiders. Perhaps more armor shapes (wolf armor, spider armor, etc.) could be added, which could work similarily to horse armor. This would partially defeat the mapmaking utility, though. But anyway, I definitely support this idea.

posted a message on [1.7.10] GODZILLA MOD - NOW APART OF THE LEGEND MOD

Im watching a movie right now and it made me think of something. Every thought about making it so that Godzilla attacks villages or any structures? To make him act lke the force of nature that he is.

Another thing I want to ask is will there be a config thatll let you turn off spawns of specific monsters? I want to make a youtube series and I cant have two types of the same Godzilla walking around

I don't know if it's possible to do the structure attack thing (unless he is coded so he attacks all mobs, damaging structures as well). Anyway, I don't think it's a good idea, since there are no structures in the game that fit the theme (Godzilla destroys tall city buildings and nuclear factories, not small towns and ancient temples), and it makes Godzilla even more antagonistic to the point he looks evil when he isn't.
As for the config thing, there are many mods that allow you to customize the spawning of mobs, allowing you to disable them (I think). It could be added, however.

    TRANSLATION:
DefGama: Please, don't add the NES Godzilla Creepypasta
Me: I don't think they are adding it, but it's possible. As I said before, there are mods that allow you to prevent certain mobs from spawning in the world, so (in case the Creepypasta stuff is added) you can use it to not stumble across those monsters.

You got a point there. Also...

It's possible AoA will update as a mod, but the new thing on it's way is a far far better replacement

Gosh, not this [INSERT HERE SWEARWORD] again... (Not sure, but I think Advent of Ascension was already supossed to be a replacement for DivineRPG)

As far as I know, there is no confirmation he's making his own game.

As for it's presence in the forum, Skelegrays said he's active, but discreet.

posted a message on Replacement for Orespawn in 1.10.2?

The only "OP" mods there are for modern versions that I know are Lycanite's Mobs and Monster Hunter Frontier Craft, and yet they are quite balanced in their own way. Since 1.9, OP mods seem to have gone extinct (maybe because of the health cap, but I think it can be surpassed in newer versions) and replaced with more balanced ones; also, CallMeDanger (the creator of OreSpawn) abandoned Minecraft modding to make it's own game and moved OreSpawn to it. There is a Godzilla Mod on developement which adds OP monsters, but it's sticking with 1.7.10. So, I think an OP modern mod isn't coming anytime soon.

I guess it is abandoned, just like the Pun Mod.

Thank you, you brang up another point. The mod is OP and tihyo wants other mods to fit in with it instead of changing his mod to fit in. Just look at AvP. This is like orespawn but with a better developer(no, that doesn't mean tihyo isn't stubborn, CallMeDanger was basically as bad as kash in some ways.) He wanted to be in control of AvP so then he could balance the mod around his *Unbalanced* mods.He doesn't want to follow along with what is considered the norm of mob mods, he's like a rebellious teen in a mall.

So, you actually expect him to be a programmed robot. Again, Tihyo is a person. He has it's own personality and ideology, and we should respect it. Although I guess you are partially right: he shouldn't try to control other mods. (Btw, what proof do you have that he actually did that?) But otherwise, it's OK. Users aren't enforced to install both mods in their game. There are people who enjoy OP mods, and people who enjoy balanced ones (and maybe people who enjoy both, who knows). It's not a matter of mods fitting each other: rather if they fit with Minecraft. And despite Godzilla Mod doesn't really fit, AvP doesn't fit that much either (like, mobs bleed when a Chestburster is coming out of their body, but not when you attack them for some reason. Also, non-block-shaped blocks). In fact, few mods actually fit that well with Minecraft. But if there are users who like those mods, then it's OK. And by that logic of "mobs in mods must fit each other or else they suck", then we wouldn't have great mods like Ice and Fire, Monster Hunter Frontier Craft, Dungeon Mobs, The Betweenlands, Mo' Creatures and AvP itself. Some of them partially fit, and some of them just don't. But that's how it works: every mod is different, it's up to the developers to decide what they want to do with their mod, and it's up to the player to decide what mods does he/she like. And if there are people who like the Godzilla Mod, you should respect it. And if Tihyo wants his mod to be different, then you should respect it. Dislike it as much as you want, but respect the ones who do like it.

For one you(tihyo) won't update the mod because of a change in combat(for the better, The only thing the old combat system had was over repetitive spam hitting.)??

Well, good luck defeating a 100 meter tall radioactive behemoth with sword cooldowns while you avoid respawning 500 times at least. Not that means I don't like the Combat update, it's just kinda uncompatible with the mod.
Also, I think 1.9 put a health limit on mobs or something. That would completely RUIN the feel of the mod, since aforementioned radioactive behemoths having less than 1000 health (a total of 500 hearts) just makes no sense (although I think there is a way to surpass that limit)

Lastly, versions since 1.8 have experience a command overhaul, and many people have started making "vanilla mods" with commandblocks, function packs and, occasionally, resourcepacks. It's not easy, but way less complex than actual modding, I guess. Doesn't have that good results, but it's decent. And it's at least 99% vanilla. It's just a personal opinion, but I see mods from 1.10 and onwards pointless, since you are altering the code of Minecraft with the risk of crashing the game when you could just combine commands and resourcepacks to use already present content and "upgrade" it, having lagspikes and low framerate as the maximum risk (well, it could crash as well, but I think it's less common).

    Quote from The_Edgy_Whale»

Two. Years. While i know modelling is hard(been there done that) that's a very long amount of time, even if the model is semi decent. (the fact that the general texture is either 16x or 32x and then basically 510x eyes and teeth is overused and only causes a major lagfest, especially on such a huge model, it'll surely crash peoples games all the time, especially when people have lower end computers)

Well, I guess you are right on that. But in case you didn't know, they once released a low resolution texture pack in order to avoid that situation.

    Quote from The_Edgy_Whale»

only reason this mod is at all relevant currently is [...] the team saying every 5 months that "oh, no, This mod is still alive, just slow progress.." [...] Lastly, This mod is basically dead. From what i know there is basically no coding done for the overhaul after Two? years and very few models. Either actually do something or just say the mod is either , currently paused or dead, simple. If alive just show some status other than a model. The mod had some potential but it seems most if not all hope is lost for this mod.

Do you think modding is easy? I haven't personally experienced that, and I have to admit this mod looks simple in comparision to others I've seen (Thaumcraft and GalactiCraft, for example), but it's not as easy as just painting blocks and writing random stuff. Even if it was that easy, modders aren't machines specifically designed to make modifications and publish them on forums. They are PEOPLE. People with their own personal lives. People with feelings. People with other people to care about. Don't expect them to stay their whole life in front of their computers making this content to the point they marry them, losing an eye and their skin becoming green as a consequence.

    Merry Christmas!

No wonder this took 2 years to make... THIS is heaven fuel (although a bit non-vanilla).

I have a doubt: are you also adding other kaiju unrelated to Godilla? Like Guilala, Maguma and Gappa, for example.

Also, will you be adding Shockirus? I think it would be neat if Godzilla spawned some sort of Shockirus minions. Just an idea.

Hey guys, did you notice? The thread was edited 18/1/2018 (relatively recently), and I think there are some new pages in the wiki (I don't remember there was a two-headed mob called Angler). Sorry if I'm wrong, but maybe XolovA is back!
