Seven years later, and I’m wondering exactly the same thing. “Load Far” is no longer an option in newer versions of OptiFine, but I’m playing 1.7.10 right now, where it is an option. There’s no tooltip in-game that explains what this does, but judging from the name, it probably loads chunks farther than your render distance so that they are already loaded when you are in view of them, but that’s just my guess.
It’s such a shame that this mod has been abandoned for so many years. Oh, what I would do for a 1.12.2 version.
This is one of the mods I played with back when I was new to Minecraft, and just thinking about it is giving me a wonderful feeling of nostalgia. Being able to play with it again in 1.12.2, along with all the other new mods for this version, would be phenomenal.
If I knew how to code in Java, I’d totally make a fork of this mod. Unfortunately, I’m not quite there yet.
This mod is phenomenal, but I have three questions:
1. Is this mod still being updated? I noticed that it hasn’t been updated in over a year, so I’m not sure if it’s been abandoned or if the mod author is just on hiatus. Either way, it’s all good.
2. Would you ever consider adding compatibility with doors and trapdoors from other mods both when it comes to the door animations and the double door opening feature (as tlwhite01 asked above)? That would be phenomenal! In the modpack I’m currently playing, I refuse to use any doors other than vanilla doors (and doors added by MalisisDoors, of course), no matter how cool they are, as not having the animations takes away from the experience too much after I’ve gotten so used to the door animations.
3. What does the ", courier, monospace">B:config.use3DItems=false config option do? Does it make the models of doors appear more 3D instead of 2D, just like the Default 3D resource pack, or something else entirely?
", courier, monospace">I apologize if any of these questions have been asked before, but there are too many pages in this thread to go through them all.

This shader pack is probably my favourite out there! However, I find it to be far too dark at night and in unlit places.

People are still making mods for 1.7.10? There are still modded servers for 1.7.10?
Why not just move on to 1.12.2?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty.
Jokes aside, the AI McJty made a mod called MeeCreeps, which is probably as close as you’ll get to Rick and Morty in Minecraft.
