I have a mac and my router IP is 10.something.something.1. I followed all the steps to port-forward a server on mac and my friends can't connect. Please help.
I knew someone that had a mac and couldn't get their mc server going. They then used something called port mapper and it works now. So all I can tell you is that you need to use something called port mapper. I hope it works for you.
Go to http://pastie.org/ and paste your entire server.log into the text box, then press "create paste" and give us the link to the website address. Also, go to http://canyouseeme.org/ and turn on your server, type in your port and click "check your port" if the website says it can see that port, then you have port-forwarded correctly, if not, then you need to re-look at how you port-forwarded.
canyouseeme.org is having a problem determining if it is open or not. I may have to use a different site.
I checked a few other sites and they all say the port is closed. How do I open it?
Also, make sure you port forwarded correctly, you need to use your IPv4 IP in your router's website (CMD > ipconfig. Look for IPv4 address). Make sure you give your friends your external IP (found at http://www.whatismyip.com/ ). Try connectiing to your server by typing localhost in your minecraft clients Direct Connect feature.
Believe me, I have tried over and over again to get anyone on and I've made sure that nothing is blocking them from doing so, therefore white-listings are turned off. Secondly, I can easily connect to my server. Thirdly, I port fowarded it all correctly (I've checked over and over again to make sure). Fourthly, my server log only contains information related to my logins but if you really need it, I will show you. Plus, it has a habit of deleting itself so I doubt there is much to look at.
Also, I would never dare to use Hamachi as it has messed up my internet before.
Another note I should include: I am using a Windows Vista.
I have viewed over fifteen video tutorials, more than ten websites, and contacted various people about how to set up a minecraft vanilla server. I have done everything right but no one can connect. It is all port fowarded, port triggered, external ip in order, firewall dealt with, and all up to date. Nothing I do seems to help. So I am asking if someone out there can help me, please. I've been trying for 13 months to get this server up.
This is a complex set of wiring, latches, and gates which always seems to spit out new problems. The current issue I am having with the lock is the AND Gates. They successfully let the lock be activational but I need a way to make them secure also. What I am trying to do is make a security thingy that prevents any digit being placed in the wrong order and still allow the AND Gates to activate the lock. Also, it needs to be able to reset the whole system if a wrong digit is entered. So all I am asking for is some suggestions and assistance with this particular stumbling block.
And, yes, I am still wet from the egg so could someone tell me how to post a pic of this thing?

Yes, I realize there are bits missing but that is all I have.
