posted a message on Have Mod Requests? Send Them My Way!

Well, I'm not sure how hard it'd be, but something I've always wanted to see is a mod that improves the night sky, since waiting for day to come is a bit boring. What I was thinking was adding size/color varations (blue and red, like irl stars) to stars and adding planets that could use textures that are randomly generated (similar to tropical fish). There could also be a telescope item that lets you see the planets' details (they'd look like small dots otherwise, similar to stars). Maybe the planets could also have moons which are only visible with the telescope?

This is probably way too complicated for a simple mod request page, but I figured it'd be worth a shot posting it here.

posted a message on (Request) Shade my skin

Hello. I made a skin (since my old one was not very good, to say the least), but I am completely incapable of shading. I tried shading it, and the skin was even worse than before. I would love it if someone could shade the skin for me. I don't mind whether it's shaded using noise or that realistic style a lot of skins use, I just want some shading. Thanks.

Wow I am amzaed by this big mod. Everything I love is in it. New weapons (Bows <3), new mobs and and and, But I have a problem. The mod eats a LOT of Ram and I figured it's the dimensions that eat so much. I have a total of 8 GB and given Minecraft 5GB. Can I turn off some of the dimentions so the mod wohn't turn minecraft into snailcraft? I found the config so can i just erase the dimensions or do I need to do something different?

There's no way to turn of dimensions, and even if you could, it would make the mod unplayable as you would be missing an important part of the progression.

Anyways, you obviously have a different problem. 5GB of ram is more than enough to run AoA (I tried to run it on a computer from 2009 once, and it was about the same as vanilla). Dimensions don't take up ram as they aren't loaded unless a player is in them, and are simply saved as files until a player goes into them. Are you using other mods? Might be a conflict.

The thing is, it's really not needed for there to be an intrusive sound effect for leveling. The sound is irrelevant for leveling up, especially when i can check the levels by pressing I or whatever key it was. Not allowing something as small as turning these sound effects off due to not wanting to lock players out of content seems to achieve the opposite effect: just because i can't turn that sound off, i took the mod out and i'm blocked from literally all the content.

It's also weird that i have to use something external like custom mob spawner to even set the spawn weight of the mobs as i want. There are way smaller mods with configs 100x the size of the config of this mod, totally unexpected.

Also why would i need a warning that the night arrived in the chat? That breaks the feel and motion of minecraft. It's intrusive and pointless. If i wanted to know if it's night or not, i could either look out the window, or craft a clock

The reason for the sound effect is so that players are aware they leveled up. Otherwise, the bar would slightly move and most players would never notice. It isn't that intrusive, I barely notice it now that I've played the mod for a bit. If it happens so often that you had to remove the mod because of it, then there might be something wrong on your end. How often would you say it happens? Anyways, there is a way to remove it. You could make a resource pack and replace the sound with a less annoying sound or use an empty .ogg file to stop it from playing at all. I do see your point though.

Don't quote me on this, but there MAY config options planned for the mob spawns. Even if there aren't, mobs will be re-balanced in the future so that they are more fair to starting players, so a config option won't be that important by then.

Two things I forgot to mention about the night message: it also serves as a hint to the god tribute system, and night/day specific mobs can spawn in caves due to how mob spawning works. The mod isn't really based around vanilla, it just uses vanilla as a platform, so it not having the same feel as vanilla is basically intended. It already has several things that completely unrelated to minecraft (guns, 3 horror dimensions, one of which even includes jumpscares, clowns, skills, etc). I never found the night message intrusive or pointless. I actually found it to be very useful.

this mod seems cool, but the configuration file is literally pathetic. I don't want events every night, i don't want to be spammed with árcade noises everytime i plant a carrot, and i don't want the UI to appear

This will not be happening. The dev himself has said he doesn't want content to be disabled through the config, and disabling these things would lock players out of 50% of the mod. If you disable events, you'd be locked out of 3 dimensions. The events don't happen every night, unless you're talking about the "night falls on the world bla bla bla" message. If so, that isn't an event, but simply a warning that night arrived. The "arcade noises" are skills, which are a core part of the mod's progression. As for the UI, I'm guessing you just want to hide it? If so, that's already in version 3.0. If you mean actually removing it, that includes the skills plus other vital resources.

posted a message on Help with 1.2.5 modloader

    Hi!

I've recently decided to go back to 1.2.5 to try an old RPG mod called EternalCraft. I know there are several modern RPG mods, but I want to try this one since it has several things that most modern RPG mods are missing (a stat system, boss music, complex and challenging boss fights, etc).

I've already installed old forge and deleted META-INF. Forge is working fine, but the problem comes when installing modloader (which is required for the mod). I've already looked at several tutorials and done exactly what they all say, but when I click the play button on the launcher, it disappears (as usual), but the game window never shows up. I tried opening it again, and it said it was running. The only way I could get it to "close" was by ending Java in task manager. I went back to my pre-modloader backup and it worked again. Installing modloader without forge makes the same thing happen.

I've heard some people say that by this point forge was already starting to come bundled with modloader, but I don't think it's the case since installing the mod alone shows the mojang logo for a second and then the screen goes white.

If anyone who reads this has downloaded modloader for 1.2.5, please tell what I might be doing wrong. Thanks.

divine rpg is also not 1.12.2 and this mod hasn't released it's beta yet point still invalid

It being beta doesn't mean anything as long as it's playable. There IS someone unofficially porting divine rpg named nicosaurous rex, who even has a discord where people can download a copy. He's the same person who ported Aether 1 to 1.12.

It hasn't been opened. Like I said, some time after release, not immediately after. When is still unknown.

divine rpg doesn't make them span in joreny's dimensions it's an issue with your config biomes/dimension ids.

Also since when is divine rpg in 1.8.9? last time I checked it was 1.7.10

It's being ported to 1.12 by someone.

Will knowledge ever make a return? I really liked the idea of researching a dimension (atleast that's what I think it was about).

Any chance the horse armor from Riov 2 will come back? That was a nice addition which hasn't been done by any other mods as far as I'm aware. Also, a beta for 1.13 forge released, but I'm not sure how buggy it is.

Who will host the new AoA server once the update is released tomorrow?

From my understanding, the official server will be updated some time after release.
