posted a message on Resource pack generated hashes not matching up, client can't open the downloaded zip file

I've stumbled upon two problems adding a resource pack to my server.

    1. The hash I generated with windows' command line tool, confirmed by three online generators, does not match up with the hash minecraft finds upon downloading the pack from dropbox.

    The generated hash is: 5843e4b4ad7f82a879b7eac953a5dbbf28e3e9e8

Minecraft claims it to be: 81ffbd1712afe8cdf138b570c0fc9934742c33c1

    2. When I use 81ffbd1712afe8cdf138b570c0fc9934742c33c1 in the server.properties file, the client spits out the following error:

[Downloader 0/WARN]: Server resourcepack is invalid, ignoring it

Yes, that link will help you with your Java arguments as for optimised server jar I am talking about taco, glowstone of even spigot all are easy to compile.

Do you really need to run your server in a virtual machine? if your laptop does not have enough ram for that cant you just run it as normal?

    I shall try Spigot then.

With VM I meant the Java VM Minecraft and the server run in, my bad wording.

Edit: Spigot runs perfectly fine at about 20 tps

Try compleating your startup args to match your hardware & server also add nogui to the end server also try using an optimised server jar and since minecraft 1.8 minecraft servers seem to run best with at least 2gb ram

The laptop I'm leaving the server running on might not offer enough RAM to run the VM with 2 gigs, at least it didn't like me using 2048M args.
Could you elaborate on the optimised server jar part? I've found this but I'm not entirely sure if that's what you mean.

posted a message on High average tick, noticeably laggy ingame?

After launching up my server on the version 1.11.2, the average tick shoots up to about 20,000 ms, every now and then it gives out the "Can't keep up!" warning and skips a few thousand ms, usually ranging inbetwen 2000 and 8000. More often than not it actually doesn't skip and I watch the avg. tick rise higher and higher, highest I had was around 140,000 ms I believe, and it was very noticeable ingame.

    Starting args:

    java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server1.11.2.jar

    Memory use: ~50-100 mb (95% free @50mb)

There are no commandblocks running in a clock anywhere on the map.

TIA for any attempts at helping me with this!

Okay, now this may sound weird, but my wife died and had a baby in her inventory. I am 75% sure her items despawned already but everytime i load the world it says that my baby is ready to grow up. Had no luck finding an eventual Chest containing her inventory with MCEdit either. Is there a fairly easy way to find her "leftovers"?

Could I help you with this mod, in any way? I consider myself a pretty good texture maker, and a kinda bad Java coder. I could help you redo the textures, as it is in your to-do list.

That would be really awesome! As i am not really talented in making textures myself, i would really apreciate having someone to rely on when it's coming to textures!

If i look at my Multitool texture... Well... Layering is okay, but not perfect.

If you want, you can already redo some of the textures ^_^ But don't feel pushed, do it if you feel like doing it :D

If this is the fix, then I honestly think the issue might be on my end, the sword is still named shovel though regular dirt does make the weapons now like before. I really feel bad whenever I point out what would be considered a "flaw" though I just wish to let you know this.

Nope, the mistake is on my side again. The compiler somehow extracted files, that changed the en_US.lang file with the bug you stated before.

Now i've doubled checked everything, this time it should work.

If not, expect a fix around this evening, i gotta get some sleep now...

I am very happy you have updated this mod, I simply adore how this is essentially the first mod revolving around dirt which was done right. Also, I have a suggestion for an item you could also add if I may. Perhaps if possible, would you be able to make it to where in order to make a dirt sword, you must use both dirt and sticks to perhaps make dirt sticks for dirt swords? If that is too convoluted and irritating then I understand, I am merely happy you have not abandoned this mod.

I thought about that already, now that you say it, i'll probably make dirt-sticks somewhen.

    Quote from TheDirtblockGent

Edit: I'm sorry to bother you with this though I feel it is best I tell you since modders prefer knowing of bugs, In game, I am unsure if it is just me or with others, but the dirt sword says Dirt shovel as it's name when hovered over. I apologize for bothering you with this after you have just revived it.

No need for apologizing, i am really thankfull for people reporting any bugs! Don't ask me how i manage to do that all the time. Last time it was a misnamed texture, this time it's a coding mistake, probably because i was pretty sleepy when finishing the update. Quick-Fix will be out in a few minutes, also i am going to change the crafting recipe again, normal dirt is again required to build tools and sword. Refined Dirt will stay as some kind of decorative block.

EDIT: As promised, quick fix is released.
