For the breaker, I think, there should be an extra slot for the tool. It would also damage the tool. The tool could be also enchanted. I think, this is easier than having lots of types of breakers.

    Anyways, support!

As Emerald_God suggested, I was going to change it to one block that could interchange between breaking and placing blocks.

    posted a message on Bows/Arrows
The Iron/Gold/Diamond Bows are a a potentially good suggestion, but suggesting flaming arrows, explosive arrows, and arrows with durability doesn't really make sense.

First off, the Flame Enchantment is the solution to the Flaming Arrow option.

Secondly, no one wants explosive arrows, because they would leave craters everywhere. Basically flying mini-creepers.

Poison arrows could be useful, but I'd probably suggest it to be an Enchantment since every other alteration to arrows is done that way.

The Iron Arrows and Nether Star Arrows w/ durability are a bit useless. How does it drop when you hit a mob and it doesn't die? How does it keep track of durability? etc.

Hmmm... I got an idea. Instead of having a placer and a breaker, have them both in one. But with a button to switch them. if that's not good, then another idea: In the breaker, I think the sword doesn't really... Break. So... I think you should remove it. unless it's for cobwebs... So then I come back with my other suggestion but different: switch between right click and left click. Left to hit/break and right to place if you want to break, you put a pickaxe in the machine. If you want to chop put axe in, etc.

That is actually a pretty good idea, and since swords would be removed, maybe any entity hit by the 'combo block' would take the damage of whatever tools was used in it, so that way you could kill a mob with it potentially, but with a weaker weapons (but a sword for cobwebs and 'breaking' mobs could also be a use).
I'll see if I can rework the OP and maybe even make a GUI for it (although it doesn't need too much tbh). Mostly just the left-click/right-click switch option and slots to hold tools (if they're not used in the crafting recipe).

Well if the votes are the only thing that matter.... gah. This is why i never tried reddit before. I also have to get "Comment Karma" to even post anything in the suggestion section where the Devs can see it. Otherwise I'm stuck in the heap of people talking about all sorts of random things, from "This looks cool", to "Creepers in Skyrim".

Instead of giving a direct link, you could just tell us it is on Reddit and potentialy the name of the post so we can search it.

I don't support and here is why

To build a fully automatic wheat farm you need to put a lot of time and effort getting a villager, tricking it to throwing the wheat into a hopper, planning, etc.
With this mechanic added in all i need is a bunch of bone meal in a chest going into a dispenser with a block breaker and block placer (with seeds) around 1 block of dirt and bam easy peasy.

To build an automatic wood farm I need to catch a ghast or spawn a wither, get them agro at an entity or me set up a piston system, place a weight on right click, fill a dispenser with bone meal
with these new machines I can literally put a stack of block breakers in a line with one row of pistons and bam i dont have to go through all the wither and ghast catching.

I understand in both situations it makes it easier but to me that takes the feel out of the game of not having to grind, or spend a lot of time setting something up. I just wouldn't feel as accomplished or proud. I would just be like oh well I did that and just get bored faster because giant farms were just to easy

    Thanks for your time.

It's been awhile since I posted this, and coming back and seeing this comment, I agree that for the cost of the blocks themselves, it takes a lot of immersion out of the game, but with a far more expensive recipe, the players who are bored of grinding with lots of resources can afford to automate their farms even further than they may have been. Maybe you could assist me in developing a more balanced recipe for them?
    Quote from Fir3will»
That's a great reply but would it satisfy you if the recipe was harder? Maybe even require a Nether Star?

I had a feeling the simplicity of the crafting recipes would become a obvious point of argument on this suggestion, and a Nether Star does seem a bit far-fetched for the recipe, but indeed a change to the recipe is needed. But seeing as how icefang37 mentioned capturing a wither for a Wood Farm, the item you get from it might make sense for the Block Breaker.

I'd be very happy to make you a new model, but I do have to say that the one you've made is pretty nice!

This is a very nice idea, and I'd like to see this implemented in some way, be it vanilla or in a mod!

posted a message on New 1.8 SMP. Small Private Community. Some Plugins (Apply Now)
    IGN- DesinitDraco

    Original IGN (if changed)- EnderBeast2000

    Age: 15

Timezone: Central Time Zone (UTC- 6:00)

Why you would like you join Dark Oak SMP: I am looking for a relativey small community server where I can explore and build

Have you ever been on an SMP before: Many times before

What is your best skill in Minecraft: Building/Mining

What is your worst skill in Minecraft: None

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Not much to say, I am not the best at what I do, but I am a fairly good builder and redstoner. I tend to travel solo (in groups w/ friend) far from other players to a place with plenty of room to build and expand, and where resources are plentiful (where I do not have to compete with others for mining space). I am more than happy to help other players with their own projects, be it for public or private use. I tend to have rough starts, usually ending in constant dying/freaking/repeating cycles while trying to travel, but if sethome and home commands are available, things become much easier on me and others on the server. Being the kind of guy I am, I know a lot of tips and tricks to make just about anything in Minecraft simpler. I know tricks to quickly conquer Ocean Monuments. Know how to automate just about any kind of farm (including large Iron Farms (Iron Titan, etc.)), and have a bit of OCD as to how neat and efficient things are, and tend to refuse to to things a certain way if I know there is a faster and more efficient way to do it. I tend to do large-scale builds, both one large build, or a series of smaller builds.

Link to your youtube/twitch (If you have one): None

How often are you able to play?: Hopefully daily for maybe 2-3 hours (unless something occurs irl)

Are you ready to play?: Most definitely I sincerely hope I can join you all soon!

What got you interested in the server: I am looking for a new and small server full of trusted and respectable players.

Solo/Group: Solo, but will group-up with friends
    PvP/Non-PvP: Non-PvP
    Leader/Follower: Leader
Giver/Taker: Giver. Happy to help anyone who needs it (as long as I am not working on my own projects)

If you properly presented this (i.e. content video) It might get a lot more popular.

Not to be mean, but that is not actually possible seeing as I am still working on content and we, sadly, have to coder on the team who could help US actually code it. I swear this isn't just some idea for a mod, but it will be coded even if I have to learn to code everything myself.

posted a message on choice of hunger and thirst bar.
I believe that many things could be added or altered to makes hardcore mode truly hardcore, and I believe a thirst bar could do that, and always having it as an option for the more casual players looking for a challenge is nice as well. I would also imagine the same temperature categorization that defines how biomes generate next to each other would affect your thirst like deserts and jungles (the hotter temps) would drain say 1.5-2.0× faster while plains and forests and such are the normal. Maybe since the nether is so hot theoretically, it'd be ~2.0-2.5×.

I find this hard to take seriously with all the things you put in this. "Spikey Windy Pokey Wolly"? Seriously? That doesn't really help your suggestion and just makes you seem a but immature.

As for the suggestion itself I see no real reason to add this. It's just a remained Wither Skeleton with a new effect. How exactly do you make the Soul Spike, and just to let you know, the green on zombie pigmen is NOT vines, but rotting flesh patches on their zombified bodies.

If you go into the End Dimension and hit F3, you will notice the Biome is 'Sky'

That is because Notch originally wanted to implement the concept that is basically the Aether, but opted out for the End instead, and left the creation of the Aether to Modders.
