You get diamond armor if you have over 500 subscribers. And you'll also get a custom title; if you aren't a YouTuber but are on the server, you could be spotted in a video!Posted in: PC Servers
Jul 29, 2014Hey Guys, this is dekema2. Now I'm not Moostache_, she is an Admin on my server, FreshUniverse Factions. But she showed me her video of her PvP match and I thought I'd help her out and share it on here. If you could give her feedback to help grow (what would you want more of), leave a reply below. Enjoy the show!Posted in: Let's Plays

- We are finally implementing integrated badges. These ranks will officially make us a non pay-to-play server, and include awesome perks when you meet each badge's requirements!
- We are making multiple arenas, which will each be themed based upon our new, secret collection of upcoming kits that we'll reveal soon. Each arena will have a centerpiece in the middle that will tie into the theme, and winners of PvP battles will receive faction power among other rewards.
- We are busy working on a secret new feature that we will debut sometime soon, but for now that's all I can tell you!

Don't even temp mute staff beggars. Just ban them, imo. 95% of the time, they are there just to ask for staff and don't give a crap about your server. They will leave after you say no. Banning them will show them that behaviour isn't tolerable, and it isn't.
Makes sense, and thanks for the advice
I'll do this too

If he continues, you should either mute or temp ban. Up to you. Don't worry, good players are not going to look unfavourably at you for putting your foot down with beggars.
That seemed to work, and coincidentally I'm dealing with staff beggars now
Jul 21, 2014Today I've had to deal with a player with the "op-beggar" mentality, but this one is begging to make me own a second server. He's 12 (I'm 18), and I keep telling him I'm not interested. I don't want to look like a jerk and ban him for asking, I want most players that come on my server that don't have bad intentions to leave happy. However, I can't have him wasting his time wasting mine on something I won't do. What can I do about this?Posted in: Server Support and Administration

Promoted, sorry for the delay!
In the meantime, we have completly overhauled our voting system, which will now allow you to have lucky rewards on top of your regular rewards! Also, we have a new theme for our website.
Jul 3, 2014Basically if Tapatalk ever came to this forum, which I hope one day it might, the plugin for Cobalt would need to be created via the Tapatalk API. Is there any chance, given the security loopholes, that Minecraft Forum will use it?Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info

I was able to reproduce the problem.
I changed my DNS settings to point to a random DNS server (from about.com), started a packet capture, and tried to connect to fu-mc.co using the Minecraft client. That DNS server returned the IP, 184.108.40.206 (which is your website IP, correct?) and then the client tried to connect to it on port 25565.
My first thought was to change the record "www.fu-mc.co" from a CNAME record to an A record and point it to your web IP. That way, "fu-mc.co" will resolve to your mcserver IP, 220.127.116.11.
If you can't do that, maybe you can make "flexile.fu-mc.co" point to the mcserver IP, and leave www.fu-mc.co and fu-mc.co to point to your website.
The whole point here is what you're seeing. When a user queries "fu-mc.co", the DNS server will reply with the first IP address on your list (hence your problem, and why only the website works, according to the screenshot), and then the user will try to connect to it (regardless if said user is using a web browser or the Minecraft client.
Thanks for your thorough diagnosis. I'm going to try this in the morning; although the domain seems to be forwarding to both the website and server (which doesn't make sense in the first place) I'll use the method you described to point the new www A record to the site IP.

I guess there's truth to that, haha. Still though in general I think this is a bad idea and so does Notch I think.

Bukkit doesn't have that big of an impact on thing, because there have been failures like this before. In Classic, MCForge was a major API that crumbled. Hell, even I tried creating an API called MCDek (search Google) but it failed miserably. But actually I forgot to mention that without Notch making most decisions Mojang seems a bit dysfunctional

Wait, so we are no longer allowed to sell things like kits, and other stuff legally... so half the servers in mine craft are gone...
Let me give you some examples of people that are no longer following the EULA:
And pretty much mostly every other server in the universe, including mine. This is very disappointing.
I wonder if they're going after these servers first and moving their way down based on server size.
Jun 12, 2014This sounds good but I'm not sure if it can stop the monopolization of the player market our there by the big servers (I won't name them).Posted in: News
But this also means servers that aren't established or don't have the "getup" needed to be successful in the first couple of weeks or months of operation will have a tougher time growing if they don't have a creative idea in place. This is also good for those new owners though since they can adjust to the now enforced standards.
