Yeah, what are we thinking? This is minecraft, we need to use ingenuity, we already have dispensers so we could just park our ship and use dispensers to fire stuff at things.
If this were a mod post in the mod section of the forums then it would be required to be more specific. This is just a suggestion in the suggestions area. I think it would be a good idea and it seems to make sense that a big metal pot be used for cooking, rather than just the oven in minecraft. Specific values and implementations would be left up to whoever actually uses the idea.
Well whatever you do end up doing with it, I will be downloading any updates you make to it.
Setting up a sheep farm gets you a lot of wool easily, but spiders are a bit harder, especially if you have other mods that use string as a crafting ingredient.
It just bothers me that cauldrons don't do anything. It is one of the things that makes vanilla minecraft feel like an incomplete game, that and the vast uniformity and almost emptiness of the nether. Stew should be able to give some kind of beneficial effects or saturation that you cannot get from the items separately. It can be something like the first enchanting system except much more simple. The complexity of the potion idea is why Mojang changed the potions to the brewing stand. Each cauldron could make three bowls of soup each for its three levels of water.
So we all know that the cauldron was added and intended originally for potion making but that use was pulled. The cauldron still doesn't have a use other than some use in redstone wiring. I suggest they be used to make stew with already included food items, something simple that could also give wooden bowls more of a use as well.
Veggie stew could be made with potatoes and carrots dropped into a boiling cauldron (filled with water with lava or fire under it.)
Beef Stew: carrot+potato+beef
Chowder:potato+fish
Similar to its original intended use but less complicated.
Oh no, I read it and I actually really like the idea. Rats are one of the most successful animals on the planet with their adapting to our environment. Rats are survivors and they are cute. Keep working on the idea, I like them much more than silver fish. The idea of them being a threat due to sheer number is the same thing that makes silverfish such a hassle, and their tiny hit box is something to worry about. Rats could live inside of pumpkins or something when inside your base.
Aren't rats known to eat insects and spiders? As well as seeds and carrots and really any other food source? maybe they can have something to do with poison resistance. To be honest I don't see how they would work in vanilla minecraft, but I do like this idea as part of a mod, there are a few animal mods out there that add passive mobs like rats, but adding an ability for them would be cool. Instead of asking for an implementation in vanilla minecraft, try finding a modder thread and see what you can do. I could see messenger rats being a cool multiplayer thing. "Hey go give this guy this stack of food or go put this in a your linked chest" but there is also the problem of chunk generation. Maybe they could just teleport to the other player.
Very cool. I was just testing this out on creative mode and it is a really cool thing, I can park the flying ships in mid air and have my whole base it seems, I haven't tried it yet, but I think I can put a dimensional door on the ship as well. Disregarding the dimensional door capability, this seems a little too powerful, is there a way you can make this more challenge friendly, making the ship need fuel and making the balloons need more expensive materials to craft. Or some kind of option to nerf it.
Perhaps i could just take off the ability to fly in my config....
Don't worry about coding cannons. It seems that everyone has forgotten that balkon himself created a mod that has cannons as part of it. If possible just make the Balkon's weapon mod cannons work as part of the ship. You would have to make them anchor themselves to the ship (right now you can push them.) It would finally give the cannons a use and castle vs ships warfare would be freaking amazing, especially with flying ships.

I have, maybe reading it before commenting would be a good idea as well.

After reading through, I support, tools for better games.

Well there is a mod that allows you to tame bats. There may also be one that allows you to change who attacks what.

this mod looks cool, minecraft needs more steam. If she ever decides to pick up on the modding again i would love seeing what she comes up with

That's true, but could it be possible to make the cannons "mount" the boat? Sort of the same way you would a pig or horse
