posted a message on How do I redownload my current Minecraft Skin?

I am currently using another computer to play my Minecraft.

The skin I am using is a nostalgic skin that I used to play with back when Minecraft had a better community (gotta be brutally honest; hahaha).

It gives off a sense of nostalgia. But I have a feeling that some time in the future, something might go wrong, and I might lose the skin forever.

Because of that, I want to download my current skin.

But, as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be one.

But that's just from my searching. Do any of you guys know how to download your current skin by any chance?
    Thanks!

posted a message on Is AFK fishing (a fishing exploit) game breaking?

Recently, after having a house burn down from being close to lava (although it was ~8 blocks away), I decided to grind for more enchanted books with my fishing rod.

I've done this countless of times, until I found in the internet a solution to this boring problem.

But this wasn't like any other exploit I found in the internet.

XP Farms relied on monsters spawning in designated areas. It was like a trap of some sort.

Item farms relied on finding the spawneres themselves, which required effort.

But AFK Fishing? Just place a few blocks, some redstone, an iron door, a music block, a few tripwires, and you're done.

Just hold down right click, then use another exploit to continue holding right click while tabbing out.

I've already gotten many enchanted books from this. But I don't know if I should keep going.

I wanted to play minecraft *almost* legitimately. But this saves a lot of time, especially because my fishing rod has Mending.

If this makes the game way way too easy, I may want to destroy the fishing machine.

    So... Should I?

posted a message on Shields are far too overpowered.
    Quote from Fzlue»

Being overall bulky, slowing your movement, blocking 1/4 of your view, and taking up your offhand make up for their tactility in my opinion. Also taking up iron, which is pretty valuable. The ability to negate the projectile/explosion damage relies on your own reaction speed, so it's not a guaranteed block & there's always a chance you could miss.

I would really, really like to see them be made enchantable though. I know knockback and flame can be added manually, but those enchantments and maybe thorns would be really useful on a shield. but THENNNNN it could get overpowered.

Also, like most games, Minecraft is meant to be played on hardmode. Anything less is just giving yourself a break. :D

Slowing your movement is already a very basic form of shielding. And it's not even disadvantageous, since you can stay in a corner forever and block all enemy attacks with ease until your shield breaks (which is a very, very long time).
Blocking 1/4 of the view is not even that much compared to real shields. In fact, shields block your entire view irl.
And there is no viable use for the offhand besides the shield, anyways.

With all this in mind, I still think it's very unbalanced.
And Minecraft in survival seems hard enough. Like Dark Souls, you lose everything (especially XP) until go back to where you died.
To add to that, if you don't go back in time, your items disappear. Your souls in Dark Souls never disappear.

posted a message on Shields are far too overpowered.

Shields were a great introduction in the game.

It gave the players a chance to explore more expansively with lesser danger to themselves.

In fact, it was the only reason I began playing Minecraft survival (ever since my purchase back in 2011, I've been playing creative. I'm guilty about it).

I was afraid of projectiles flying everywhere, and the dangers of CQC when exploring caves.

Now, survival is much more easy thanks to the shield. And by much more, I mean too much.

Shields nullify all kinds of damage, even explosions. And explosions barely damage the shields, too.

I think the best thing to do is to introduce a system in the shields, just like the weapons themselves.

Maybe have them enchantable? Such as having more knockback when enemies attack, have greater explosive resistance, unbreakable X, etc.

Or maybe have a 50% chance of nullifying damage and the other 50% reducing the damage to 1/3 of the original damage?

Or maybe have the shields break much (much) more easily?

Or maybe parrying? Engage the shield right before enemies attack, and guarantee damage nullification, as well as avoiding shield damage (and maybe pushing enemies away further). Maybe projectile reflection can be a feature of parrying as well.

posted a message on Increased Item Despawn Timer (and also disable-able)

Another "I died and lost everything so items should last longer." It would cause way too many performance issues, especially in massive underground areas. Five minutes is plenty of time.

    Like I said, adjustable.
It's like render distance. It will obviously give you a significant advantage, but will impact performance.

    Quote from Chameleonred5»

I don't see any reason not to make this adjustable. This is the sort of thing that gamerules are for. However, you need to actually specifically suggest a gamerule if that's what you want. If it's a world option, you need to suggest that. If it's something else, you need to suggest that.

"Change this" is not a suggestion. It's an idea. How exactly should this be implemented?

There's a value in one of Minecraft's files.
Items are listed to despawn after 6000 "ticks", which is exactly 5 minutes.
For now, it's a single, simple value that can be adjusted, but only through game modification.
Something I want to avoid doing.

(I also seem to have trouble finding it. If anyone can tell me, it would help a lot.)

    Quote from Tails1»

Are you aware there is a gamerule to keep your inventory on death? The item despawn timer is in the game since the existens of item entities and hasn't changed since. Asking to change it is like asking for creepers to do less/no destruction damage (there is already a gamerule command for that aswell). Everyone of us has experienced this kind of item loss countless times. You just start from scratch and try doing it this time better.

    Overall No support.

I don't want to change gamerule KeepInventory. That's plain cheating.
This world is what I specifically made as the world where I beat Minecraft legitimately.
But the only thing that holds me back are some very specific game mechanics that have no reason being that way.
I see the item despawning timer like render distance: It's something that doesn't break the game when adjusted, but is best being as high as possible.

posted a message on Increased Item Despawn Timer (and also disable-able)

Some time ago, I have died in Minecraft.

I respawned quite far away from where I died, but thankfully, I died right next to where I started when making this world.

I crafted a boat, and made my way right away.

I finally arrived to the island where I died. I jumped and ran. I saw all my items on the ground

A fishing rod with Luck of the Sea II, Mending, Lure III and Unbreaking III

A diamond sword with Looting II, Unbreaking III, and Bane of Arthropods II

A Bow with Flame, Mending, Unbreaking III, Punch II, Power V

An Iron pickaxe with Efficiency IV and Silk Touch

They were right in front of me

But they disappeared before my eyes.
I was literally 2 blocks away from getting them. Two blocks, and the work that I have grinded for a good 7-10 hours wouldn't have gone to waste.

    Please, Mojang, Microsoft.

Allow the item despawn rate to be changed.

From what i can tell, item despawns are set to 5 minutes. Far too soon.

I am currently changing values in Minecraft's code to disable item despawning. I wanted this run of mine to be a full, cheatless run. My first time, and I have already made so much progress.

I see no point why item despawning has to be exactly 5 minutes flat. Besides performance issues, there is no reason why it has to be so strictly soon.

posted a message on How do I download my current skin from my profile?

(Ignore the skin in the left. That was one of the first skins I made about 6 years ago)

I am currently using a skin that has been in use since about 5-4 years ago. It's one of my favorite skins, and because of that, I really want to download it in case I want to change it, or if Minecraft's servers somehow crashes/glitches and my skin is lost. As a backup of sorts.

So far, I can't find the option in their site or launcher. Because of this, I might need to attain it manually.

Anyone please tell me how to do this?

    Thanks!

posted a message on What shader looks the most natural?

I am looking for a shader that looks realistic.

And by realistic, I mean identical to how the eye sees the world.

No unrealistic lens flares, filters, or overly bright environments.

So far, the shaders that i find most realistic is Stazza's Super Shaders.

But this shader still has a high amount of bloom. Maybe it can be toned down a bit.

    What do you guys suggest?

Hey, I've got a suggestion, what about the ceiling turrets:

Theoretically, they're designed for defense, so they can also need a supply of energy and ammo.

Their ammunition could be the 200x9mm ammo box (it doesn't appear in the main game, but it appears in some mods, like azure sheep, for example):

And I've got a problem, some type of conflict between Buildcraft and Lambdacraft (when they're together, like in a modpack), in the crashlog, it says "Exception in server tick loopjava.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 2".

    Thank you for reading. :D

Hmmm... This actually sounds like a good idea!
I'll try telling WeAthFold about this. He is not often online.
    Thanks for the idea! ^_^

We need the combine in there

    Logic:
THERE ARE NO COMBINES IN HALF LIFE 1.
Lambda craft contains content only for the first half life.
    If you read the description.

Also, I am having a problem... My game always crashes when I load Forge (No. It is not the Player API) and I have no freaking idea what it is about.

It had problems loading the Textures. Why is that?
