Just an FYI: Feed-The-Beast will host your modpack if you want. All you need is permissions for all the mods.

posted a message on [Forge][1.4.7][Tech Mod][Pre Release] XyCraft
Honestly, while the mod does look really cool, I share many of Nukularpower's concerns. The tanks are awesome, but they completely overshadow the tanks from rail craft. There is no benefit to using the tanks in railcraft at all.

Maybe the Xycraft tanks could hold less for the same space, or maybe the recipe could be extremely expensive. Really, I don't see anything wrong with requiring a nether star to make a 10x10x10 tank out of whatever materials I want.

I love this mod. The most fun I ever had in Minecraft was when my buddies and I fought a Hydra. The fight was just so freaking epic.
There is just so much to love in this mod. Fire swamps, Lich towers, the dark forests, etc. This mod has become something that I find to be absolutely essential to the adventuring aspect of Minecraft.
In other words, your work on this mod has made my life a little better. For that, I thank you.

If I could suggest behavior for the Bison:
Why not make them similar too the real animal?
They are extremely stupid beasts, known for stampeding away from someone that shouting, but will sit still and graze while other Bison in the heard are being shot.
Basically, making it so the entire group runs from you if you approach without sneaking, but attacking them wont cause them to flee. (Basically making bows the easiest way to kill them). Also, they would fall off any cliff not caring about how much damage it would deal to them.
Having them spawn extremely rarely, but when they do, they would spawn in very large groups.

Oh, and any thoughts about having your bee mob intigrate with the Bees from forestry? That could be really cool, if done right. (and if SirSengir likes the idea).

    Quote from Saul_Goode

And that right there is the absolute most toxic attitude for a developer to have. And I'm not saying it's even the one that I feel Eloraam has, this is strictly about the content of your comment. And while what you said is not inherently untrue, it is still wrong (fundamentally) on so many levels.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

What it comes down to is this... go browse the first 15 or so pages (or the second thirty pages) then go back 115 (or 300) pages from now and look at the differences. How it started and where it is. Things have changed and it's not the same mod and not the same modder. And yes, it is her work and her prerogative on what and how she ultimately goes about things, but at the same time RedPower has grown past IntegratedRedstone and is the sole-provider of what are really some very basic utilities. And yes, Eloraam has done a fantastic job thus far, as shown by the fact that there are no real competitors for things like Logic and Wiring. ...which honestly is where most of /my/ frustration lies... relatively less complex modules that have had to wait for seriously complex parts of the mod that have held up the overall update...

Seriously... Is that so hard to empathize with? Even just a little?

Yes, it is impossible for me to empathize with you. You have a horrible sense of entitlement. You didn't pay for this mod. You paid for Minecraft. A mod author does not, and should not, try to act like a devolper for a game. The goal is not to sell a lot copies, the goal is to make a mod. If you don't like it, then don't use it. If you do like it, then you have to use it on their terms. This isn't a business, it is charity.

No one has any right to ever demand that they receive a free update for a free game. No mod author has any obligation at all to ever continue working on their mod. They also have no obligation to ever share their code if they quit. They aren't getting paid and they certianly never signed a contract. It doesn't matter how people like their work. They have every right to do whatever they want with it, and you have no right to ever complain about any of it, ever. Not having a mod does not hurt you. You did not spend money on it. You are not paying taxes for it. You never made a deal for it. Not having a mod update puts you at neutral. Neutral is not something can complain about, ever.

If you are upset that a mod you like isn't updating fast enough for you, then you have an unwarrented sense of entitlement. Simple as that. You are not entitled to anything, ever. Deal with it.

posted a message on Mod api is 1.4, right?
Can I just point out that Grumm, in his spare time, plays on a heavily modded closed server, with over a dozen mod authors, so that he can get a better understanding of what the API needs to do?
I would also like to point out that the mod authors themselves are not being dicks about the lack of an API. They make do. The people that make idiotic claims against Mojang aren't even the people that would USE the API. The idiots hating on Mojang are leeches, they only care about being able to install their mods easier.

Guess what? That problem is now solved. Just use the FTB launcher or MultiMC.
