If you're bored of the usual gameplay, do a hardcore file with the objective being to kill the dragon. You die, you're done. Hard difficulty only. Suddenly the game becomes a lot more thrilling.

I don't even know why they made that change to begin with, it just seems completely pointless. Also, the way they used to be, beds could actully be used as inserts in oak wood ceilings for an interesting effect (and an actual night-only secret entrance by jumping and sleeping), and now they can't.
I really hope they wake up to how dumb and pointless this change was and undo it.

"We've added a bunch of decorative blocks!"
....Ok, how about a list?

You're literally complaining about two things that are both fixed by peaceful difficulty. I won't pretend to understand how anyone can enjoy survival without challenge, but that seems to be exactly what you want.

I'm going to be honest. Minecraft is an absurdly easy game to not die in, even on "Hard". Whenever I used to do hardcore files (with the goal being to kill the dragon), the only time I ever died was when I was in the nether trying to get blaze rods to make the eyes of ender. Nothing in the overworld was even remotely a threat, even when I added another layer of difficulty by letting the day/night cycle move to midnight and then disabling it.
I do not need beds, and the only time I use them is when I'm first setting my spawn somewhere or someone else wants to. If I want to keep phantoms able to spawn on me (which I do, they're the game's coolest mob now), I'll just leave the server or pop into the nether while everyone else sleeps or does the same thing. It's really not that hard of a solution.
People in here are making a big show of complaining about Phantom difficulty. They literally can be batted away with your bare hand to prevent damage. Anyone with ANY videogame skill at all can do it consistently. You also will not have to deal with more than one phantom at a time for quite a while, as the number of phantoms that spawn at once above a player starts at 1 on day 5 and only goes up by 1 per extra night, up to 6 capped.
I don't even consider a six-pack of them a threat.

If they were all actual achievements I think they would be nice, but 90% of them are literally just handed to you on a plate for being on a higher level of play than a 2-year-old. It also causes disagreements on how to run a world among friends because some people want cheats enabled for only a minor thing every so often for convenience or creative-only blocks, and the others don't want that because it disables achievements and leaderboards (even after Bedrock removed in-game leaderboards, it's absolutely ridiculous).
I'd rather they just be gone so we can turn on cheats and be perfectly fine so long as we don't abuse them.

But their (idiotic) logic was that they didn't want people interacting with sharks more IRL because they added them to the game. What then is their excuse for encouraging players to hang out by sea turtles?
If they're going to be idiots and deny the playerbase content that is near-unanimously desired, at least be consistent.

So let me get this straight: They have gone on the record saying we will NEVER have sharks in Minecraft, because some of them are endangered and having them would possibly encourage some very very stupid people somewhere to try to interact with sharks in real life, but they're perfectly fine with adding sea turtles, one of the literal poster-children of endangered species? And not only that, being near them to collect their shells as they drop gets you armor?
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
