posted a message on It would be nice if those of us on Bedrock would stop getting outright inferior versions of Java features
    Quote from dcnoire»

i also recently posted how to get infinite enchanted books from villagers... so, maybe dont complain about stuff you dont know how to use. people whove gotten fabulous results are just gonna throw a fit... *cough*

Firstly, redstone experts like mumbo jumbo can't stand the redstone on bedrock because it literally doesn't do what it's supposed to do with any consistency. He even showed it off in a video where he kept pulling a lever and the machine did something different every time, it was literally random.

Secondly, don't talk down your nose at me about villager trades. I've set up megavillages in at least 4 realms with 80+ villagers in them, I know full-well how they work. I'm talking about how they were arbitrarily different from java villagers until the very last patch we got. My point is, why make them different in the first place?

posted a message on It would be nice if those of us on Bedrock would stop getting outright inferior versions of Java features

While it's true that Mojang has made excellent strides to finally make Java and Bedrock versions have parity, those of us on Bedrock are still getting, to put it simply, the same things Java gets but an inferior version for absolutely no reason. I understand when a feature is Java only due to hardware limitations, but a lot of things make no sense to be different.

    Examples:

    Piglin trades:

Java: Can throw gold ingots to piglins, trade will work after 6 seconds. This means it can be automated with dispensers.

Bedrock: Not only can we not do a trade by throwing the ingot, meaning no automation, piglins will make the trade happen after 8 seconds instead of 6. WHY? How hard is it to make it the same?

    Redstone. Enough said.

    Hero of the Village:

Java: Prices discounted, villagers celebrate and throw items at the player(s).

Bedrock: Prices discounted, no celebration, no items, and until the last patch, the discount wasn't even as big. Speaking of prices,

    Villager trades:

Bedrock, until the last patch, had significantly different villager trades, with less than half the number of any trade available in a cycle before being locked out. Why? Who knows.

    Shields:
Java can put banners on their shields, Bedrock cannot. Why? Surely this can't be a technical issue or banners wouldn't exist at all.

The Wither on Bedrock is WAY harder for no apparent reason.

The dragon doesn't spawn a new egg when she dies after being resummoned in Bedrock, making the dragon egg the most rare functionless block in the entire game for absolutely no reason.

These are things I can think of right now, and with a list this small I know it looks whiney, but I know there are other things that are significant that make no sense to be different for each version.

posted a message on Make water music less common (or not play in rivers or non-ocean water bodies)

I can't imagine still having music enabled in the first place. It's so bad, and having it turned off allows me to play my own music instead.

posted a message on "Villager trades have been changed to more closely match java edition"

I did try it again in my creative world with new villagers, and it's doing the new trades. The bookshelf trade on librarians actually got nerfed, it used to be 6 emeralds for a bookshelf and now it's 9, so I'm definitely going to leave all of my old villagers alone and just make a new one.

posted a message on Minecraft Veterans

For me to consider someone a veteran, it has nothing to do with time played and all about competency. I don't care how long you've played, if you die frequently and/or stupidly and don't know most of the ways to be more efficient and constantly do really stupid things, you are not a veteran in my eyes.

posted a message on How should I make my nether base?

You could try copying the style of some Fire Nation buildings from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The update is going to be introducing tons of (far overdue) quality black blocks, stairs, and slabs to build with, so it's the perfect time to give it a go, not to mention a Fire Nation palace in the Nether is hilariously on the nose.

I plan to do this as well, probably in the new volcanic ash biome.

posted a message on Is it actually possible to build a blaze farm in survival?

Obviously they're not going to build it in survival to show you how to do it when they could build it a lot faster in creative. There's absolutely no reason to do that. Obviously the farms are meant for normal survival, but them actually building it in survival would make no difference whatseover for the purpose of the video.

Can you access the backup saves and rewind it to a time around 15 minutes before the death chain started?

What you're saying boils down to "I wish Mojang would get their act together and release real, difficult content with worthwhile rewards".

I agree with that. It's not realistic to expect it, however. They haven't added any new bosses to the game since the Wither, with only the Dragon before that. The Nether update was their chance to add a Nether Boss (The Wither really doesn't count because it's a summonable and you are supposed to do it in the overworld) and they failed to do so, just like they failed to add a Kraken or anything else as a boss to the Update Aquatic. They're obviously not very keen to add more combat stuff to the game and their imagination tends to be very limited. Out of literally the THOUSANDS of creatures that live in real-world oceans, not to mention the thousands of mythical creatures to pull inspiration from and design a new hostile mob out of, we got... water zombies. Whoooooooo. They honestly should be ashamed that water zombies is the best they could do. Once again, if you want better combat and incentive for exploration, just wait for Hytale.

And for your information, I play survival instead of creative because large builds are more impressive when you have to work harder for them, up to a point. I take pride in being a top-tier player by creating a supervillage with all notable enchanted books and gear, and lots of farmers with melon and pumpkin farms to handle the emerald and exp supply. That takes work to set up. It takes skill and knowledge of the villager mechanics to do. That's quite enough.

Why do you want the game to be more tedious to play? If you want challenge, this is not the game you should be playing. This game is about building and mining. If you want to challenge yourself, I'll say it again, enforce your own rules. Don't desire for the game to be made substantially worse for everyone else because you don't like that this game doesn't challenge you. Building a village would be completely pointless if you couldn't get good stuff out of it.

Hytale is in development and it's a far more combat-driven game with far better mod support and sandbox game-screation elements. You'll probably be jumping ship to that when it launches. I probably will be too.
