No one can connect to the server running on my computer. Every person trying to log in hangs at the "Logging in..." screen and then it times out. On the server side, the error reads "WHOEVER lost connection: Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed".
Before it is said, I absolutely have the latest Java runtime environment, verified directly before this post by the version verification app on the Java download page. The port is fully forwarded on my router, verified by Wireshark. The driver for my network card has been updated to the latest version. I have tried completely disabling the Windows firewall and my antivirus program (Avast). I can host any other game flawlessly. Oh, and I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
This is also not the first time I've seen this error; when playing on any other server, I will randomly be kicked off with the same message displayed. This will be preceded by blocks that I have been digging out reappearing.
Apparently other people have this problem as well, as evidenced by the many unanswered pleas for help on these boards. Has anyone discovered a solution for this error, or at the very least a cause?
