By True Vanilla i mean absolutely no mods. At all.

Okay, maybe admin mods, but nothing that protects land, chests and the whatnot. Nothing that affects gameplay and the atmosphere / feeling of an actual survival game. So Mobs need to be on. And new maps every now and then is also a plus.

If thats too much to ask for, then maybe one with runecraft, because of the neat stuff you can do that doesn't detract too much from the game.

If no such server exists, does anyone want to start one? I can't start a server since currently run the game on a laptop when i'm at work. A fairly small community would be nice.

anyone know how much has been affected / changed / addressed with the newest update to the server (0.2.6_1)??

apparently, he changed cart speed rates, and i think booster carts no longer fling em as fast as they did before...

and i'm not sure if the chunk issue has been worked on either (waiting for the server i play on to update).

    Hey Romally,

I know its gonna be a flood of newcomers, and that we're waiting on a fix to a major bug. But when everything is back in working order, may i join your server?

You've got the right combination of plugins and the right ideas for a Minecraft world, and i would love to be a part of this.

    Much thanks!

    Gameplay is real simple:
Up to 4 players race atop platforms from one end to the other. Those that fall are disqualified for that round or for good. Usually we play 3 rounds each, with scoring 5pts for 1st, 3pts for 2nd and 1st for 3rd. One on One we simplify it and just do best 2 out of 3.

There are more game variants that my friends and i play on our private server, one of which is actually more popular than the standard! They're listed below.

    Stages Designs
there are 3 main types. Normally i build them using fences for 3 reasons: a) looks better, :cool.gif: the smaller visual forces a little more accuracy on the players part when a platform is broken, and c) they take longer to break regardless of what tool is used. Currently i build them over water, but players can have it over solid ground or even lava. Also, typically, for standard polerunner, there are just 4 wide and however long you want your course to be. But for other game variants, making it a symmetrical square arena is best.

Standard: 1 or 2 block gaps. 2 blocks make it a lot harder and the progress slower, but can also create quicker matches as players fall more often.
    :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water:
    :Water: :wood: :Water: :wood: :Water:
    :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water:
    :Water: :wood: :Water: :wood: :Water:
    :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water:

Diamond: patterned to force diagonal jumping, which causes more path crossing with opponents. Good for quick, conflict-filled matches.
:wood: :Water: :Water: :Water: :wood: :Water: :Water: :Water: :wood:

:Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water: :Water:
:wood: :Water: :Water: :Water: :wood: :Water: :Water: :Water: :wood:

Uneven: platforms are at differing heights (should only be used with standard 1 block gap design... anything else is beyond difficult). Despite this, the arena must be symmetrical to ensure fairness and equality for each player.

    different difficulty levels

standard - players cannot alter the course and just race against each other
advanced - players can break platforms under opponents but are not allowed to place blocks
extreme - players can break platforms and use the collected blocks to create obstacles (raising platforms to create a blockade or impede progress.

    Game Variants
    Multiple ways to play

    1) Collector - up to 4 red dust ore blocks (or Coal or Clay blocks) are placed on the arena (usually 1 goes dead center). Players need to reach these blocks, break them, collect the pieces then bring them back to their end and physically drop them into a pit or basket at the base of the pole. Players can sabotage their opponents if played in advanced or extreme. Best played on a Normal 1 gap Arena for quick and easy fun.
here's a pic of the basket i built at the bottom of the pole:

This actually became the more popular game variant among my friends!

    2) Torch - torches are placed on all the platforms. players race to collect the most and drop them in their pits

    3) Othello - 2 players only: Regular Torches vs Red Torches. Players claim platforms by placing their respective torches on as many platforms. No one is allowed to break any platforms with torches on them, but if played in extreme, players can break blocks to impede an opponent's progress.

    4) Spleef Polerunner - A game of spleef but on a polerunner arena

i'm working on recording a video, but if anyone decides to do their own, please do post it here! I wanna see some cool looking arenas! And if you come up with another game variant, post it here too!

    posted a message on AoM [REBIRTH][v1.3!!!][MATURE ONLY][24/7Dedicated]
So i checked out your website and forums and liked the presentations.

But truthfully, the donate-to-play really skeeves me out. I very much understand where you're coming from and why you've implemented it as the admins make a very sound argument... but there are very strong counter arguments as well.

And i do have a question regarding players who have joined before the pay-to-play was instated. When it was put into effect, were players already on the whitelist required to donate as well, or were they an exemption?

Regardless of how bold and blunt i may have been in the opening of this post, i truly am interested in the server and the map you've put up on your website depicted a rather clean looking world, as opposed to the chaos i'm used to seeing on many other servers. But a map alone isn't going to sell me, and i would very much like to see it for myself before commiting real life currency to something so readily available for free.

It seems previous applicants were allowed to walk through your server before donating, as it seemed their building / destroying abilities were revoked during their tour. I tried to visit as well and it denied me stating i wasn't on the whitelist. Was this another recent implementation, or can i apply for the whitelist and then tour the area before making a donation?

Thanks for your time and excellent work on your website.
