The bugs have been squashed, don't report that bug, trust me minecraft developers are well aware of that problem, they had many people complain. So here is why the update didn't help and it seemed to hurt, because 14w26a&b corrupted data so if you play in any other version than the blocks wont show because 26a scrambled block ids. So when you updated you just saw the glitch, the harm had been done before you updated. The only reason I knew data had been corrupted was because during 26a I was MC editing an atventure map and it had trouble registering stone brick as a known block.
Wait, so I can't update anymore without messing my game up?
I guess I'll wait till 12w27a and hope it fixes the corruption! Thanks for the info

They released the halloween update on halloween, I think. That was over a year ago though.
Jeb was pretty vague and noncommittal in his twitter post, so I don't expect too much from the release date, they'll probably push it back a week or two once we get closer, hope I'm wrong though.

Plus I need something for my signature, so hopefully my posts will help spread the idea around

I've messed with the villagers quite a bit. As soon as I found one, I added extra houses (and giant mushrooms for some random reason), ugly houses but they worked. They got the iron golems spawning (there's about 4 walking around now):
Then, I decided to transport to a new home and see if they could breed. They did, but that artificial village is kinda ugly so I won't show it.
Finally, I move a couple to their newest home. Originally I was just bored and wanted to build something out of my extra building materials, but eventually this city sucked them all up and I even started mining just for more cobblestone to build the city. It looks great from the outside, but a bit mess on the inside, its all haphazardly placed. Anyways, they're finally filling up the new city a little bit, here's the overall view where you can see the rails I used to cart them in:

I think slimes can't spawn on torches, and since they spawn so rarely, you might need multiple floors to get them to spawn, I have about 5, and they're about 24x24 since I can't tell exactly where the chunk is.

I think you have to search about 10 chunks, or 160 blocks, to have a 65% chance of finding a slime chunk, 22 chunks (352 blocks) for 90% chance. Regardless, I'd recommend you dig deep, so you find diamonds while you're digging.

Feather falling enchantment will help tons when you get knocked off your pillars. And you need multiple stacks of dirt/cobblestone/sand/etc. to build the pillars.
Honestly though, the enderdragon can only push you, not actually hurt you (i think). Its the endermen and the fall damage that can kill you.

I just looked it up and it was before alpha 1.2, I didn't know I purchased it so early in the development of Minecraft. I know when I bought it Notch said everyone who bought it at that time would get everything for free in the future, but that was kinda pointless since every update has been free since then. Of course it cost like $15 bucks when I got it so I really shouldn't complain, haha.

Having to sleep once every couple of days. It would kinda ruin caving for long periods or exploring the nether for a long time.
