Over the next few days/weeks, I will be posting "Town Spotlights", guides to a particular town in Wolfia. There are many towns, and each town will have be featured once. If you're a new player, these guides will help you decide where you want to build. Of course if you want to explore every secret in the towns, you'll have to come on and visit them yourself.
Town Spotlight: Aberdeen
Aberdeen is the largest town in Wolfia. There are a lot of buildings here, more than any other town, and lots of room to build. It's located on the shore of a large lake, near some mountains. You get a great view of both the mountains and the water from just about anywhere!
The style of buildings in Aberdeen is simple yet looks very detailed. Oak Wood is usually used for walls, while stone brick is used for roofs and sometimes floors. Torches are used on roads and inside buildings, though sometimes in larger buildings, Glowstone and Redstone lamps are used as well. You can do some interesting stuff with this simple style, we'd love to see what you come up with!
Aberdeen is one of the oldest towns, founded by GalvinNerth(an admin on the server) back when Minecraft 1.2.4 was new. The older area of the town is to the north. The town hall, bulletin board, and town square are all here. To the east, there is a huge arena used for a variety of events, including battles and fireworks shows.
Up in the sky is Aberdeenia, a floating island which offers amazing views of the area. Heading south, you will see DOGC's Food Market (my store/restaurant), the Chapington Tree Farm, Stonewood Tower, and the mayor's mansion on a small island in the lake.
Further south, is the newer section of Aberdeen. There is a huge public farm here, great if you need food, one of the largest libraries you will ever see, and Aberdeen's most noticeable landmark: The Apiceedra. This extremely tall tower is the tallest building in Wolfia, and has a very interesting design. Take the elevator to the 10th floor and check out the view!
West of the Apiceedra is New Aberdeen. This new town-in-progress is more city-like than Aberdeen, and although here isn't much yet, it will soon be quite large, maybe larger than Aberdeen. There is plenty of room to build in both towns, you should have no problem finding the perfect spot for you and your friends to build. Come visit Aberdeen and show us what you can build!

You can participate in events with up to three other people. Can you survive through three waves of monsters? There are great rewards available (including emeralds) and your weapons/armor and provided, so there's no need to get your own.
Unlike most servers, our arena does not use any plugins! All features, from the lobby to the monster spawning to the rewards, are made possible using only Redstone circuits and Command Blocks. It's just as simple as the MobArena plugin that most servers use, but there's less bugs and it's easier to join and play.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of us, we will be happy to answer.The server is powered by Bukkit, a special type of server that lets us use plugins to add new features into the game. For example we have DynMap, which adds a high-quality overhead/3D map. You can access it from the server website. It’s very useful for finding your way around. There is also a plugin that adds portals to get between different areas very quickly. There is even a plugin that lets you ride an EnderDragon and fly high above the world!Come in and craft mines! There is plenty to see and do throughout the world. We hope to see you on!
