Hello everyone! I'm DJ, and I am the administrator and co-owner of the MinePeace SMP server. I was first promoted to this position when the owner, DudoRaidz, felt he needed a little help running the server. I'm 21 years old, and quite an active player who loves to do large builds of varying complexity (usually focusing on towers).
About The Server:
MinePeace SMP was created around early November of last year, and has flourished ever since. With a friendly community, a vigilant admin, and an ever-cycling cast of players, things can stay fresh for quite a while. The community is small enough to know one another, yet large enough to really feel like a proper server.
We run a Bukkit server with a few plugins, such as CoreProtect, Essentials, and mcMMO. Below are a few screenshots taken of the spawn area.

We do plan, however, to switch worlds once 1.9 is released. As we don't know when this is, we can't really say for certain how much time we have left in the current world, or even what other changes the server will go through once we update.
Also, even though it goes without saying, this is an English-speaking server. If you aren't very versed with the English language, have trouble understanding native English speakers, or have trouble being understood by them, then you will not be accepted. Sorry, but communication is part of the multiplayer experience.
What We're Looking For:
As we're a small community, we're very choosy about who enters it. What we look for in a prospective player is someone who is dedicated to the community; someone who will play frequently, be kind to the other players, and perhaps even take part in server events (like boss fights, or even just messing around) and seasonal events (held for holidays and such).

First off, let's talk about what is accepted, and what is not.

Favorite HermitCraft/CubeSMP player: I do like Mumbo because of his amazing redstone contraptions and just overall engagement with his audience, but I prefer FalseSymmetry's builds.
Why do you want to join this server: I wish to join because a server I used to frequent is falling into a state of disrepair and overall vacancy. I've been looking for a server for a little while now, and reviewing what's told about this one, I doubt it would fall to the wayside any time soon, which is quite a good thing to see in a whitelisted server these days.
What do you bring to the community: What I would bring is simply myself, my knowledge of the game, and my willingness to share that knowledge to any and all who could benefit from it.
Would you be able to help pay to keep the server up: Sadly, I cannot. If I could, I assure you that I would.
Rate skills from 1 (scrub) to 10 (pro):
Redstone: 3. My abilities in redstone are less than a shadow of those like Mumbo, and the most complicated redstone device I can build is probably a simple elevator... and even that, I'd have to re-teach myself.
Building: 9. I am a fairly avid builder, so long as I have the supplies. Most of my ideas consist of simply "winging it", but I've been told that they turn out rather nice, and I'm pretty pleased with them myself.
Farming: 4. I'm no better or worse than many other farmers in Minecraft, really. My lack in redstone knowledge prevents me from automating farms, but at least I can manually sow crops.
Mining: 7. I prefer to mine from caves, but there are always times when strip mining is needed. Honestly, though, who in this game is not a good miner?
Pranking: 2. I don't know what it is, but pranking just doesn't seem to be in me, even when it's something akin to retaliation for a prank pulled on me. I much prefer the "live and let live" approach to things.
Team work: 6. When I'm in a team, I will definitely be a team player, however I usually don't actively seek teams. If someone asks my advice on something, or how to make something, I'll be more than happy to oblige.
And last but not least, tell me about yourself: There's not much to tell, honestly. I'm naturally quite laid-back, though I will have my bad days like everyone else, though I try to keep those well-hidden. I'm happy to help others, so long as I'm able to. I do have a bit of a habit with cursing, though usually not in an attacking manner, more of a passing amplifier of statements. If this is a problem, I can cut back, however I cannot promise to completely cut it out.
I do hope that you accept me for your server, I feel that it really has potential to be a well-built community and I would be very happy to be a part of it. Regardless of the outcome, I wish this server and its players luck in creating something wonderful. After all, that is what Minecraft is for.

After you apply, I will review your application. If it's good, then I will hand it off to the community to vote on you. This can take anywhere from a few moments to a few days, so make sure to check your notifications regularly.
If you are denied, then I wish you luck on your hunt and hope you find a server more suited to you. If, however, you're accepted, then after posting it on the forum I will contact you on Skype to send you the IP and add you to the Skype chat. If you decided to withhold your Skype username for privacy, I will message you on the forum for it.
After being accepted, you will have a one-week trial period on the server. This is not only so we can get to know you, but also so you can get to know us, and see if our server is a good fit for you.
Final Note:
Please do not falsify information on the application, as we do not base acceptance on skill. Make sure you put a decent amount of effort into your application, otherwise you will most likely be rejected. It's not personal, but I need to do what I believe to be best for the server.
If your application is denied it may be for a number of things: lack of detail, doesn't seem like a serious application, you may come across as humorless or otherwise incompatible with the group, etc. These apps are to judge your CHARACTER, not your skill, age, or place of origin. If I can't tell anything about who you are, or I believe you wouldn't have fun with the team, then I will deny you.
Also keep in mind that even if the slots are full, they may be open in the future. It may take a while for me to get back to you, but feel free to post your application anyway. Who knows, it may be good enough to put you on a reserve list.

Make a Tower of Progress, starting with wood on the bottom floor, then stone, then iron, gold, diamond, etc. A home that acts as a monument to your progress in the world.
