One of the last trophies I need is the one to throw a diamond at another player (that and the play 100 days trophy, ugh). None of my friends are interested in playing just to let me throw one at them, so would anyone else be? All I need you to do is join my game, let me throw one at you, throw it back, and we're done. You could even get the trophy too if you haven't already.
I honestly never ask permission. If you put it up for people to download at will that IS your agreement to use it as you wish. Also IMO using adfly breaks the "do not distribute for profit" clause in the Mojang TOS. One could also argue YouTube as another valid TOS violation. But seriously tho If you put it up for download then I no longer need permission as it is made public at that point.
I thought that the Mojang ToS only protected against source code being re-distributed and being put behind ads, but I could be wrong. However, since Notch said mod authors can copyright their mod, again, as long as it doesn't use minecraft's base code, then technically you still do need permission. It is in the public domain, but you would still need permission to re-distribute it. Again, I could just be talking out of my a** here, so sorry if I am, but that is what I thought the ToS included.
Hmm. I guess Any mod that has adfly links are breaking the law so that means just about ever minecraft mod. Mojang said this: "Any tools you write for the game from scratch belongs to you. Other than commercial use (unless specifically authorized by us in our brand and assets usage guidelines - for instance you are allowed to put ads on your YouTube videos containing Minecraft footage), you're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around, that's no fun." They explicitly said youtube guys can put up ads (The youtubers whosecareers and incomesolely on playing Minecraft are just Pathetic. Not a way to make a stable living.). But they never said anything for modders. Setting up ads will make mods violate the TOS. I just realized that almost every mod is breaking the law and yet when I released this mod without ads people complain that its illegalbecause I copied some idea that he does not have a patent for. How much more ignorant can these people be; the entire minecraft community?
Considering most of the minecraft community is made up of 9-11 year olds, it will only get worse. In my opinion, you should just say no. If people are that ignorant and stupid, just f*** them. I know that can be hard to do, because then they would use it anyways and unless you want to go to court, there isn't much to do about it, but at least it would help a little bit.
We already thought of the idea. We are going to have a lapis gem that summons a lapis golem. I'm thinking it will have the same health as an iron golem but does a bit more damage. He will follow and fight for you once summoned.
Nice! I'm looking forward to this, as it would set it apart from most other Lapis mods.
Once you release a download, I'd be happy to get some screenshots for you if you'd like. Also, as a suggestion, maybe a Lapis Golem? The same size and health as an Iron Golem, but does 10 to 25 damage instead of 7 to 21.
My path (XP) C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\.minecraft\mods\spc\schematics. Throw a roaming in there somewhere and it's probably yours too.
I haven't created any but I've used 2 created in 1.5.2 (BeforeMCLauncher). 1.6.2 opened and loaded them without a hitch.

I've seen some problems with saving a lot, when MC Launcher is used. Is this one more? I stlll have the old configuration in addition to the new. I'm not a typical configuration.
Lou
Sorry for the late reply but thank you! I had to create the /schematics folder but it worked when I loaded up the game.
Are you kidding me? The last few updates have really improved the resource management of the game (remember when minecraft used to use 1 gb?). I'm looking forward to updates that just make the game run better becuse when notch (overrated) worked on the game he would just make it work for older PC's.
I'm not a modder, and I am barely a resource pack author, but I agree on that part. They have made it easier to install mods, and much easier to make resource packs. I just think they update way too much sometimes, like 1.6. They could have waited longer, added more, finished the mod api, and let existing mods have more time to fully update, then come out with 1.6 and have an abundance of new features.
Hey, I went to my cottage for 2 weeks and I won't be able to maintain the mod. If mojang releases an update could somebody make a unofficial update to the mod, if somebody does link a download with a mirror (if you can but not required) then I'll update the mod thread with the new downloads.
I don't think they would release another update in the next few months, but you never know since 1.4 went all the way up to 1.4.7.
Thats the point. A lot of people whine that moving tile entities is difficult but I looked into how I can do it and I think I know how I can tackle the problem.
Then I think you should totally make it! I know it would be useful to a lot of people.

Would it be possible to add a config option for this?

I'm going to watch this mod, it's a great idea and if done right, could turn into a great mod!
